It's a purely target/bullseye pistol that HK is keeping around for legacy's sake. It's a USP expert with actual target sights and a more special barrel (both have the o-ring), and slightly better match trigger setup.
Is there some type of competition shooting where you'd want/need to use the USP Elite? I don't really know much about race guns but I'd think you could get something better at that price point.
Of course you can. This gun is too big for some the competition sizing boxes too, so it really ONLY serves a purpose as a bullseye pistol, for which there are better alternatives. This, along with most of the USP line and MK23, are only still being produced because people want them as legacy products due to movies, video games, HK snobbery (I'm guilty of it myself), etc.
It was created to meet the rules of a German shooting competition. It's min/maxed for that. BUT, it just so happens that here in the USA we have silhouette target shooting, and the HK USP Elite is a great choice for that.
honestly if you're getting a USP .45 in the Expert or Elite format instead of Tactical, just get a MK23. Even the prices are only $200-$300 different depending on source.
A custom 1911 in 45 caliber set up for competition will cost you $2000 and up. The USP Elite and Expert models are better purchase.
That would be good advice except that the MK23 has a worse trigger than the USPs do, neither is absolutely fantastic, but the USP’s Match trigger is breddy gud.
all fair points. There's still a place for Expert and Elite, albeit very niche. It is absolutely accurate though, just as accurate as a custom 1911.
100% can confirm. The HK USP Elite in 45 I have was making 2 inch groups at 50 yards off a rest, it's the most accurate handgun I own. If it weren't for the very long sight radius (an excuse to shoot irons every once in a while), I'd probably would have gotten it milled for a dot and used it as my handgun hunting pistol loaded with some 45 super.

I installed a match trigger in my standard USP 9, and it's nowhere near as good as the match trigger that comes with the USP Elite. Supposedly the gunsmiths at the HK factory hand work on the elite models, and I believe it, simply because of how God damn good the trigger is on my Elite.
Yes, Elite actually has some handfitting involved, including the barrel which is a special one incomparable to the other USPs. It's a purely target pistol and it is fitted for that purpose specifically.
it looks silly
It's designed with the use of a weight in mind.
it looks silly regardless
yeah
Also is it great for concealed carry?
Its xbox heuge.
Looks long.

and obviously LONGER barrel and slight, with intent to use a weight.

>better than unrelated 9mm handguns
What did OP mean by this?
Looks gay
In what way/s exactly?
if you are gonna get a hilariously large handgun, get a deagle. they shoot magnum rounds and are fucking sick.
Looks like a stechkin, what's the point, why not make more Mk-23s?

Interesting, the Elites I saw felt closer to the standard USP trigger than the trigger in my .45 Match.
no, yes.
It's my EDC
>carrying cocked and unlocked
Fucking HK Chad if I've ever seen one.
Shot one once. At the time didn't feel much different than a normal USP, but I didn't shoot it back to back with one.
>Is it better than the 92fs and g17?
They aren't named elite are they?
