Folders are just pretty useless, other than for dumb shit like opening letters and crap like that. Spyderco and knives like it made with these steels that you're not getting sharp in the field with a stone aren't made for working. They're made for little tasks for people who can't or don't sharpen their own knives to tell people the useless shit they use the knife for and how it holds an edge forever.
Ok cool, I’m an PrepHole knoife poster so I’m never actually going to use any knoife I pay $100+ for unless it’s a rare occasion that I use the knoife to open the package of a new knoife I just bought.
I don't know if this post is incredibly based or fuming seethe, but I agree with it, partially. My Chink Spydercos are 8cr13 and are no problem to sharpen on a pocket Arkansas.
get both of them. they are constantly shilled by the knife community and knife sellers for a reason. they stand out and are superior in their own respected fields of being the best cheap knife, and the best budget premiums steel knife.
Good idea. But which one should i get FIRST?
That's a Tenacious, not a PM2
Same shit. All of spyderco knives are PM2's with little differences.
This.

Because they're fucking overpriced, and their gay fans say "spydiehole".
a bunch of anons told me that holes>thumbstuds>flickers
Lol you have used one then. Long sloping curves are far superior than straight lines for cutting things, and for resharpening.

That's correct but you don't need a 2-inch wide leaf shaped blade behind that curved edge.

A fucking Opinel carbon is the ultimate orange damn victorinox. Fancy steels are for copers and larpers. I don't know what's worse... people collecting hundreds of dollars of knives, or those fucko pops figurines.

the knife grew on me. the osborne 940 was a grail knife that i wanted, but choose the PM2 because it was standing the test of time better than the osborne 940.
call it marketing, call it stockholm syndrom, call it what you will.
im not gonna convince you of shit. but it serves its purpose and instead of paying 180 bucks on what i thought was my grail knife, i bought my real grail knife and didn't even know it.
Sorry for the late response. Its a togh call. I use the RAT more forsure. However I like the look of the spyderco. Here is the persistence which is a bit smaller than the Tenacious i posted alongside the RAT. I know kinda gimmicky, however these knives are all me.
I can sharpen cheap steels no problem, but this d2 I can't, or maybe it's the blade shape on the rat, but I just can't get the fucking thing as sharp as my cheap Chinese Kershaw. The d2 also does not hold an edge for that long like people say it does. The thing is full as fuck from a few days of cutting boxes at work
D2 can have a stubborn wire edge if you're not using diamond stones, even then if your angle isn't consistent a flappy wire edge will develop which will feel like a sharp edge but will roll over cutting anything harder than paper. Stropping and use of a honing steel will knock the flappy wire edge off but since it's D2, you already know it's going to take a bit longer than a chinksteel knoife to de-burr, but you can do it. You're just looking at 5-7mins of honing vs 1-2mins on cheap steel.
The ~$25 Ontario RAT knives and Opinels are the two that get shilled here nearly as much as Moras. Kershaw Leek with that D2 blade used to get shilled a lot too, but that’s more like $60.
The knife in your picture isn't a PM2.
But spyderco knives are too expensive for what they are now, I can see somebody getting a PM2 over a 940 5 years ago and liking it, but nowadays Spyderco is charging close to $70 for their lowest level full size knives. Even Benchmade is cheaper now.
The RAT is still good value for money though. Even if it is D2 steel.
Do you live near the coast? D2 isn't stainless, that would be the only reason not to go D2 over AUS-8. Coated AUS-8 is fucking impervious to rust compared to D2.
D2 is much better performing steel than AUS8. Easier to sharpen, holds an edge way better and longer, more utilitarian. Like this anon

said, it isn't stainless but simple care and oiling of the steel is easy to do at any time in any environment
Spyderco are overpriced and gay.
Why, dawg?

What if you’re a knoife collector and you only want the sharpest knoife to strop and strop on the weekend?
Then do your thing.

Carrying a full tang knife everywhere is wack.
Good idea. But which one should i get FIRST?

The Rat1 is a better design. Spydercos have a meme blade shape that wastes material.

Which one fellas? The clock is ticking
The Rat, if you want bang for the buck.
>if you want bang for the buck.
Explain pls
better steel for the price.
This.
Because they're fucking overpriced, and their gay fans say "spydiehole".
They used to be good value but it's ridiculous now. Every year you get price increases. A few years ago an endura was $60 now it's $100
That's just Bidenflation, not mark-up.
This was going on well before any of this shit started
enjoy your ~~*quality*~~ 440a anon

Or a damn Victorinox. Fucking autofuckup
i bet you own a 300 buck Benchmade
I think they would fit right in with one of the several knife threads up right now
get both of them. they are constantly shilled by the knife community and knife sellers for a reason. they stand out and are superior in their own respected fields of being the best cheap knife, and the best budget premiums steel knife.
>they are constantly shilled by people who get them for free to review for money for a reason
i paid 171 for a PM2 in s45vn steel. it took me 5 years to finally shill it out because i hated the design, but i do now realize why its superior.
>what is stockholm syndrome
a knife that is better than the rest.

I sold my Para 3 and S30V Bucks. I don't like these modern super steels

Hello Brother
which one do you like better?

Meant to say dull as fuck

what is the folding blade equivalent of the basic mora kniv? i mean: sturdy, simple, cheap
Kabar Dozier

Hogue, for it rhymes with doge.
Brand naem?
OKC RAT 1 pr even the RAT 2. Both are awesome, especially the price. Get a Victorinox Huntsman to go with it, and you're set.
