This has been something they've been doing for a while. It's more about not being spotted than defending against drones. Camouflage is apparently magic to these naggers, why do they come to this board.

a net isn't going to protect you from blast and frag, that's likely what the shipping containers are for.

    No my little Ranjesh.
A cope (something) is when you DONT have an actual (something) to protect your aircrafts/vehicles against drones/blast damage and you need to improvise with crap
pic related is cope. Your pic is not
So please, stop using cope for everything.

Pic related is a troll iirc
If it was serious, there’d probably be some sheets of plywood over the tires. Since, you know, Russian tires are so poorly made that they have big holes in the middle

Serious question though, why no hangars?

Sometimes it's not practical having a hangar for every plane on an airbase, especially if you're moving planes around between bases.

Also, because if you kill a hanger, you kill multiple aircraft. Whereas if you hit one revetment, you kill one aircraft.

It's from an article talking about Australia's 'bare bases'. They're three fairly minimal airstrips in the middle of nowhere, designed to be quickly activated in the event of a conflict.
I believe they've got some hangars but not many so depending on the number of aircraft based there it wouldn't be surprising for many to be parked in the open.

In any case, hangars are not hardened aircraft shelters. A hangar doesn't necessarily offer any real defensive protection other than camouflage. Some might have concrete walls in which case they'd offer the same protection as any simple revetment.

Hangars are for working on aircraft. You don't actually need to store aircraft in them.

That's...camo netting. You can't be equating this to the tires on MIGs we saw.

yeah, nobody wants shade in the desert.

Dumb, that's the shade net to make sure the cockpit stays cool so the pilot doesn't need to spend those awkward 5 minutes of sauna sweating until the air conditioner kicks in.

    >Australian roundel
This is literally just to keep the plane from melting in the sun.
