Yeah, they declared that it was them who did it. Dumb idea IMO. There are videos of them saying that they "came to liberate you from the Russian governmet". They are just some dudes and they won't recieve much, if any local support. Sure, it was shameful for Russia that they managed to pull it off and all, or at least most of them survived, but a useless stunt in the end. They could be helping somewhere else, in the front.

Also I wonder how do the Ukrainian commanders handle these guys? They just let them do whatever they want" Were they not informed about this operation?

I won't believe the claims of dead civilians until I see proof, but overall a dangerous stunt to do with no clear benefit.

They're not that many so I assume that on the grand scheme of things they don't have the numbers to help the front.
However, this is serving as distraction/psyops. The more paranoid the Russians get the more they'll be stuck chasing ghosts and doing stupid shit like ventilating the airsofters wearing STALKER patches.

                >On November 23, the FSB of Russia reported on the destruction of members of a conspiratorial cell of supporters of the Ukrainian nationalist ideology in the Voronezh region. At the same time, at the places of residence of the defendants, as well as in a specially equipped cache, two improvised explosive devices ready for use and components for their manufacture, knives and firearms, ammunition of various calibers, as well as means of secret communication were found.

        Stop spreading disinformation

To make it a bit more clear: The Russians planned a flase flag operation in the style of what was happening during the prelude to 24.02.2022 what was supposed to be on the scale of the "Ryazan sugar incident". For that they gathered unmarked vehicles and people in Ukraine uniforms (sightings were reported on the 22 on twitter), kept Ukie corpses in freezers etc.

However, Ukies got wind of it, selected group of Russian volunteers and send them 1.5 hours earlier to the border were the Russian side was expecting them and let them through because they thought this was the fake sabotage group they were instructed to let through.

Pro Ukie Russians came, shot a video and fricked off back over the border through the same safe corridor.

The Russian propaganda machine sprung into action, Russian telegrams were first to report the incident, even Putin gave his pre-planned statement (it took him 2 days after e.g. the bridge incident) but then everyone woke up and realised something went not as planned.

Also this was not the first time the FSB fooling around in the Bryansk region:

          >Is this the first such attack on Russian territory?

          >Apparently, this is not at least the first attempt. In December 2022, the FSB reported on attempts at "sabotage and terrorist acts" in the Bryansk region. On December 26, the agency announced that four Ukrainians who were allegedly part of the "sabotage group" planning "terrorist attacks" had been killed at the border. The FSB also published a video with bloody bodies and later named the names of the dead - allegedly fighters of the Ukrainian volunteer battalion "Brotherhood", not formally related to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
          >As The Insider noted, journalists noticed a lot of oddities and inconsistencies in the video - for example, one of the killed "saboteurs" who had to walk kilometers on rough terrain, has completely clean soles of shoes. In addition, the Brotherhood battalion was not previously known as a unit that participates in operations behind the front line.

This is what makes the "Ukrainian sabotage group" narrative even more hard to believe:

          >Soon after, in February 2023, the authorities of the Bryansk region reported on the creation of "defense line support points" on the border with Ukraine - judging by the pictures, it consists of various fortifications and anti-tank nadolbs. The line was personally inspected by Governor Alexander Bogomaz together with Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party Andrey Turchak.
          >"The experience of the Bryansk region, without exaggeration, can be called advanced. In an ultra-swise time, the border was strengthened - the mouse will not slip through. For each platoon - a field kitchen and bath.

They claimed to be fighting to liberate Russia from Putinism. I really don't see how they plan to achieve anything. There are only a few of them and the Russians didn't even protest the draft; they won't join some random armed group to fight the government.

I haven't seen yet any trustworthy confirmation about the hostage situation and wonded child rumors, but if that's the case, the Ukrainian army should cut ties with them IMO. They are a very small group that can't really make any significant impact on the war, I don't know if they have participated in any real combat so far; most of the time they are just posting "training" on Reddit and Telegram. Now they pull a stunt like this while wearing Ukrainian uniforms and identification marks. A really dumb move. I wouldn't complain that much if at least they had managed to infiltrate Russia and kill someone politically or militarily relevant, or at least try do something useful like the Belarussian partisans do

He was shot by some crazy based dude that was angry because they drafted his friend. It was not because of any major civil unrest that took people to the streets to protest the war

People did take to the streets. It ended with them being beaten or conscripted. Why the 2nd undergirds the 1st.

No protest? Hundreds of thousands of people fled the fricking country. Every protest was met with extreme violence and arrest. Are you high?

That picture just reminded me off all the vatnik screeching about capturing and killing multiple NATO generals and colonels who were trapped in the azovstal cumpits. Good, the Russian “people” following this war are so fricking stupid.

The good part of Russia was always Ukraine. That's why they're so desperate to get it back.

none of this makes sense. ukranians are winning, they wouldn't attack civilians and boast about it, they don't gain anything. on the other hand it's obviously not a false flag, the guy who runs that organization has been posting on telegram for at least 6 months and he hasn't denied doing it yet. If the russians wanted to false flag something, there would be a lot more dead pile, definitely a big explosion somewhere. So whats going on?

Starting the flag out small, with history before a metro explodes or something

What if it's a genuine insurgency that Ukraine won't claim as their own but won't condemn what they're doing because it's still in their interests and Russia will entirely blame on Ukraine without accepting the repercussions of the existence of such a group. It's no different than the Belorussian groups doing the same thing.

War isn’t a rts where a single commander has absolute control of units under their command. Militaries are made up of people, who sometimes make questionable decisions. Ukraine squandered their ability to put a bomb in Moscow to make a run at fricking Dugin. Patton got himself into trouble constantly. Union officers would write to the fricking newspapers about shit they shouldn’t have. Abu Gharib. Those mariners filming themselves throwing puppies off a cliff.

      Shit happens.

    can I get a QRD?

Seems like Ukraine scooped a planned false flag terror op staged by Russia by infiltrating their own Russian guys into the town it was supposed to "take place" in order to record a video denying targeting civilians a couple hours before and then fricked off back into Ukraine?

      Anonymous

RVC guys attacked a town, russians are calling it an act of terror because they may or may not have killed civvies
Also looks like it was an independent, off the books op if you ask me, seems the Ukie-ruskies went off the rez for a minute

I thought it was a false flag as well, but apparently the people on these photos are verifiable members of the russian anti-putin far right. Whatever their plan there was or if they were acting with or without Ukrainian blessings is currently unknown.
