In this case, they'll just retreat to a stronger stronghold. I say bombard their asses so their mothers get many more luxurious cars to buy.

            Anonymous

I told you to NOT be moronic anon. There is no stronger stronghold and there is no way to retreat, that's the fricking point of an encirclement. Accepting their surrender instead of bombing them saves time and shells. (And is also legally required and not accepting surrender would be a war crime.)

If there is an option to actually have them surrender and not just retreat, then that's obviously the best course of action.

There's no path for retreat where they are, they either surrender or get fricked. That's why they're groveling like the little bawds they are.

Russian troops have been raping and pillaging the country for fricking months, have tortured, raped, and murdered countless civillians since the invasion started, have offered safe passage to refugees and then turned around and shelled them; I understand that to target these Russians now would be an escalation of the war by Ukraine but they certainly deserve to be punished, actually deserve death. No.
Ukrainians were promised they will be allowed a safe retreat if they leave their equipment and weapons. This is easily verifiable, just look up any contemporary article in your media of choice, disarmament was the key demand of the Russian side.
Ukrainians agreed, then tried to leave with all their weapons. Again, easily verifiable - they don't even hide it, instead they claim they were promised unconditional safe corridor. Which is obvious load of crap because why the frick would anyone let surrounded enemy just leave.

Suite interesting how they let them through their lines until the ukrainian got to the killzone.
Theres no way you can watch at how the battle happened and not call it an ambush.
The contradicting statement were just to cover there track, having some of them being about letting ukrainian leave only if they surrendered their weapons.

Reuters published this info 57 minutes after the start of the evacuation. If you can find an earlier official statement, I will agree. But until then, I can only consider this as an example of them willingly backpedalling to justify the planned ambush.

                Why do you lie again?
This article has been posted in the early morning of August 29th and signified the start of negotiations, while the evacuation itself happened a full day later, in the early morning of August 30th.

                https://web.archive.org/web/20140831004018/http://lenta.ru/news/2014/08/29/acceptance/
Here's the Russian side proposing withdrawal in the early morning of August 29th (posted roughly at the same time as the Reuters article on the same topic), and it's clearly stated among the terms that they must leave the heavy equipment behind.

                https://web.archive.org/web/20140901234509/http://www.unian.net/politics/957152-boytsov-ato-kotoryie-ne-sdalis-pod-ilovayskom-obeschayut-vyipustit-iz-okrujeniya-do-10-utra-semenchenko.html
Terms of the deal were being negotiated till the late evening of August 29th. We have this statement by Ukrainian commander made at night of August 30th, where he mentions that negotiations has been concluded and evacuation will finally start now, and will be conducted till 10:00 AM on August 30th.

                https://web.archive.org/web/20140902000149/http://www.unian.net/politics/957183-iz-okrujeniya-pod-ilovayskom-vyishli-pervyie-28-boytsov-avakov.html
Evacuation started at night August 30th, we have information about the first units who successfully left the encirclement. No mention of Russian attacks.
And only then, 24+ hours after Russians clearly stated that they demand disarmament of the retreating forces, those Ukrainians who tried to evacuate with weapons and equipment in violation of the deal, start coming under fire.

Have them eating some of the finest west food and enjoying some of the best wine. Playing video games, watching movies etc. Try to put it out on the internet as widely available so the rest of the orcs can see it. It will greatly increase the chance they surrender. Imagine the amount of captured Ukranian soldiers they would be able to trade them for, Russia might even need to put some Russian babes in the deal, considering the amount of soldiers they supposedly have encircled, kek.

No, the French fought some of the hardest and bloodiest battles of WW1 "The war to end all wars". A war that involved such leaps in technology and feats of human mastery over reality, that many people thought they were magic, and that this would be the apocalypse.
And mostly all of these battles happened on French turf. So France got fricked over the most from all of these WW1 battles.

Then WW2 rolled around, they'd just rebuilt their shit, and they were already being absolutely fricked over again, so instead of turning into literally Fallout wasteland after a second bout of this, they formally surrendered, preserved their nation, and let the resistance fighters do the work. Because to not do so was buttfrick moronic. But still most frogs were upset at this.

France actually has a pretty potent Warrior pride, and is fairly patriotic. Even the Italians weren't quite this bad.
But Russians are just like the beginners in an MMA gym. They see a scary technique coming, and tap before it even hits.

      Russians are exactly that shameless
Remember that from thier perspective concepts like "empathy" and "respect for human life" simply don't exist. As far as they can tell, the reason westerners are so obsessed with things like "humanitarian corridors" is because they are weak and stupid, not because they have any kind of reason for doing so.
Therefore, they believe that if they ask nicely, the weak and stupid west will give them a humanitarian corridor too, just like those worthless civillians that got one earlier.
After all, if the westerners are so weak and stupid that they will bow to the wishes of unarmed civillians then how could they possibly refuse a request from the brave and strong soldiers of the Russian Federation?

Yeah this drives me nuts, there's like 100k+ Ukrainians who just got sent to Russia at the start of the war and no one's heard of them since. I don't think Russians would final solution them but they would definitely deny they have them forever and keep them in the middle of Siberia in a camp.

Ukraine is perfectly within its rights to rescue them from a camp Russia would then deny even existed.

        >no one's heard of them since
Bruh. Go ahead and read any article about Ukrainians who miraculously escaped these horrible Russian gulags.
Pay attention to the actual description of their cunning and valiant escape attempts. It usually goes like this:
        >go up to a camp official
        >tell them you want to leave
        >get asked if you have anywhere to go, say you do
        >be wished safe travels
        >leave
        >travel to a border of any country accepting Ukrainian citizens without visa and go through the usual border crossing process
Congrats, you've escaped the concentration camp. Media tries to spin it as an incredibly rare feat of ingenuity and bravery, but in reality that's all it takes.
If only the israelites at Auschwitz knew the simple trick of just walking out, we wouldn't have to hear about six millions.

Anyone who wants to leave these camps, leaves. At no point of time there is an attempt to stop them with force. We have thousands of Ukrainians who have successfully went through the process above with no issues.
You don't hear about 100k+ Ukrainians because they have nothing to say, nowhere else to go and no reason to refuse their temporary accommodations.

Are you suggesting that Ukrainians would have an easy time finding work in a country whose population has been getting blasted by propaganda painting Ukrainians as pigs and nazis for the past 8 years, in addition to the war it's fighting against Ukraine?

                Anonymous

                >Are you suggesting that Ukrainians would have an easy time finding work
Sure. There are 1.75 millions of seasonal workers arriving to Russia from Ukraine every year. If they didn't have an easy time finding work, they wouldn't be traveling to Russia with this goal in mind.
That's not even mentioning 2 millions Ukrainians permanently settled in Russia, it's the third largest ethnicity represented among the Russian population. Russians treat then no differently than other Russians.

                >in addition to the war it's fighting against Ukraine?
While the conduct of Ukrainian army and media did a lot to convince Russians that they are monsters in need of military correction, why would it apply to civilians from the Eastern part of the country, especially the ones who fled to Russia?
They are viewed as innocent victims, first suffering the Ukrainian regime, and then the war destroying their homes.

Another thing of note is, the overwhelming majority of refugees were actually settled in the Western part of Russia. "Deportation to Siberian gulags" is a label propaganda just couldn't miss on because it pushes all the right buttons, but it has little to do with reality. Some people indeed were sent to Siberia and the Far East, but that was only done to distribute the load on regional emergency shelters.
Most refugee camps are pretty much within hitchhiking distance of Ukrainian-friendly countries like Georgia or Baltics.

No they are "contractniks". The conscripts were used in the Northern Front and caused quite an uproar in Puccia because young 18 year old Muscowite and Petersburg boys getting straight up shredded and roasted was not good publicity for "denazification operation". And that's not even getting into how most of the Russian troops are subhumans from east of the Urals who consider the vacuum tube to be high-tech are basically unemployable in modern western societies.

So was this confirmed fake or not? Losing 1000 men on the Kherson front is pretty decisive considering how spent the moscovian forces are

I seem to remember that the vats at Kherson were at division strength at least in which case losing 1k guys would be a significant loss but not crippling.

      >haha I lied about being encirculed and asking the enemy to let me retreat
What motives do you think he has? Personally I think he is encirculed and did ask for an out only to have the Kremlin tell him to say it was a lie.
It can't be intended to fool Ukraine because they know the situation on the ground as well as him. Saying "you have me surrounded" isn't going to fool anyone, maybe it's to singal that you want to surender?

The difference between /k/ and other boards talking about this war is we think about motives and tactics, I doubt you ever considered what motive he would have to make 2 contradictory statements within 24 hours.
