      >Back when the victory parade in Moscow was about winning WW2 and not some parotic circle jerk about how glorious Russia is
I'll let you in on a secret:
Winning WWII was Russia's one and only call to fame (until the space race) and they milked it politically ever since the war ended.
      It was always a circlejerk.

It's funny, because they could also us the Crimea war but since they are trying to play nice with Turkey they cannot

Never thought a video from 2010 would be giving me those "different world" vibes I get when I see stuff like cold war footage. Time sure flies

I like to think that somewhere out there in an alternate universe the Nazis and Japs have their own victory day parades across the world and Europe and the Americas are white and speak German and asia speaks Japanese.

The dignity of the US soldiers marching is inimitable. Maybe it's because they are well fed or it's the qualified pride knowing they serve in the greatest armed forces known to man but the salute while the opposite arm is resting is quite something else.

I don't think this one is on Russia, Monke used to be a very pro-Western guy and have asked for NATO membership before he got told to frick off because he's supposed to be the bad guy here

He was offered NATO membership by the west, but it came with strings attached, such as submission to the Le Hague as well as submission to NATO HQ. He declined.

Like all Vatniks, you lie routinely.

          >NOOO YOU HAVE TO LET THEM IN NATO WITH NO REQUIREMENTS TO ADHERE TO ITS STANDARDS OR CHAIN OF COMMAND

Georgia still isn't going to join NATO.

Yep. Neither is Ukraine unless they retake absolutely all of their territory and even then quite probably not. Territorial disputes are a b***h and a half like that

                Anonymous

West Germany joined NATO without problems. Plenty of current NATO members have some sort of territorial disputes, often with other NATO members. They just have to promise they will try to settle things peacefully.

Yes, most Russians or vatniks legitimately do, it’s how they can ignore shit like all the suiciding Russian videos and yesterday’s parade

Being in a giant international military alliance isn't a privilege and requires genuine commitment and a willingness to accept your nation is just one of amongst many

Russia never applied for NATO membership.

He was offered NATO membership by the west, but it came with strings attached, such as submission to the Le Hague as well as submission to NATO HQ. He declined.

No one is offered NATO membership. You have to apply.

        >No one is offered NATO membership. You have to apply.
No, you have to be invited.
        >Article 10
        >The Parties may, by unanimous agreement, invite any other European State in a position to further the principles of this Treaty and to contribute to the security of the North Atlantic area to accede to this Treaty. Any State so invited may become a Party to the Treaty by depositing its instrument of accession with the Government of the United States of America. The Government of the United States of America will inform each of the Parties of the deposit of each such instrument of accession.

By 2010 it was already too late.
The pivotal points were 1991 (could have exterminated the KGB after their failed coup and prevented all this), 1993 (could have condemned the successful coup, crashed Russia even harder and prevented this) or 1999 (could have exposed and humiliated Putin and prevented this).
Or perhaps even 1990 (state troops should have stormed Stasi HQ, detained everyone and safeguarded all records).
