I was going to send my long weekend in the bush camping in my usual spot by the creek, but all the trees have been cut down. It has been turned into a graveyard. It's eerie.
Many of these trees were my friends.

Looks like you have business with a rock and stone.
>every tree in that picture is the same height
That's not a forest, that's a plantation. They cut them down every 10-15 years and then replant.
They were replanted after a fire. It isn't a plantation it's crown land.
>crown land
Hahahahahahahaa
Fricking serf.
That's what you get
Do yoy have a loicense to post during the Queens mourning?
Huh?
You stupid moron. 95% of Canada is "crown land" aka land owned by the people. Anyone can camp on it or even live on it with some random restrictions that dissipate the further north you go.
>aka land owned by the people.
Crown land does not belong to the people.
This is why environmental activism is so important. We all love spending time PrepHoledoors but how many of us actually take the time to get involved to make sure the PrepHoledoors stay wild? It's not guaranteed.
You're an idiot, anon.
That's different from federal land... how, exactly?
crown land is logged regularly, everywhere that isn't a protected piece of land like national/provincial parks/forests are up for grabs. There's a lot of bureaucracy involved and they at least pay lip service to the idea of conservation when allotting plots to forestry companies, but those trees were always destined for harvest. Usually it takes 30-50 years between loggings but it depends on species and demand and location etc.
It sucks, but also I can't fricking wait for plywood to be reasonably priced again.
looks like prime fort building area now
APUUUUUU JESUS CHRIST APUUUUUUUUUUU
im free now
I love that video
FRENTON!!!!
I'm sorry.
Sorry bro. There's nowhere you can go anymore where you don't see trees being clear cut.
that's a very pretty view, i'm just imagining a nice little subdivision going in there, could name it after the trees that were cut down to make way for it.
why do you hate progress anon?
Yeah, a Target or applebee's (plus parking lot) would be perfect right there
Same thing happened at my favorite spot. They clear cut a huge area of trees in the nature reserve I loved to hang out at to build a concrete canal going to nearby suburbs. Then beavers proceeded to make a home in the canal and cut down all the remaining trees the city didnt get too.
>cloudseeding to cause droughts for global climate warming change and move rainwater away, setup of reservoirs in completely superfluous places and diversions of rivers to hide all surface water
>preventing forest fires from naturally, or UN-naturally occurring has wood eating beetles or other parasitic insects infesting them to the point they all need to be cut down
>mismanaging of all government and law enforcement to the point it's causing issues just like innawoods
Perfection, this is what America is all about.
Ok, go travel a few hundred feet farther into the untouched stuff
>hundred feet
Daily reminder that Scotland wasn't always a barren wasteland. It was once heavily forested very far north until the English clear cut literally everything leaving a landscape of barren rock and scrub still hundreds of years later.
>hundreds of years later.
Thousands of years later
>Daily reminder
go back
>English clear cut
wrong the Scottish forests have been gone since the bronze age
Frick me. Everything's always our fault with you people isn't it? You lot played a massive role in British colonialism but then when it was over, you turn around and say "uhhh it wisnae us laddie, we were oppressed too!"
Embarrassing nation with a persecution complex rivaling you know who
Love the fence that sneaked in the bottom left in that pic, its not your land moron
Crown land is great, I have some near me and you can just wonder on it. Would rather have crown land I can wonder and linger on than have 99% of everywhere around me be privately owned.
you from Oberon or something? lots of clear cutting going on around that way. i took a wrong turn and ended driving the long way round through Burraga and passed a ton of that exact landscape for like an hour
Wait until winter, you'll go into that forest with a chainsaw yourself.
Time to write a manifesto
what state?
That's what you get for not hiking in a federally-protected Wilderness Area, anon. What's that? You don't have wilderness areas in the King's Playground? Sorry to hear that anon. I guess you should've been hiking in the Land of the Free, where we protect trees to the point you can't even bring a handcart next to them, much less a chainsaw. 😉
The amount of actual permanently protected land is far smaller than you suspect it is. Funny you say this when US urban expansion is probably going at a higher rate than anywhere other than the third world right now. These areas won't preserve the natural land being crawled over by suburbs.
I mean, yes, they will preserve it. That's precisely why the areas are designated as federally-protected wilderness. But you're right that nothing is preserved "permanently," which applies equally to every other country.
The US has a shit-ton of protected land.
>You don't have wilderness areas in the King's Playground?
We do though.
Then why weren't you hiking there, anon? They can't kill your tree friends there.
I am. I'm not OP.
In canada there is “land management” to contend with
1% of the crown/reserve/park is getting cut per year. (Except next to water ways)
>no handcart
>no chainsaw
Meanwhile ten horses are fine
yeah that's a little gay and I agree. In fairness though horse people have a lot of money and few other places to trod, so if letting them in means more political support to uphold and maintain Wilderness Areas, I'm okay with it. they're better company than ATVers or dirtbikers or mountain bikers, that's for sure. the latter in particular have teamed up with conservative pols to try to crack open Wilderness Areas, so frick them homies. gotta keep the mechhomosexuals out of our paradises.
Looks like Anon is from Australia, if you didn't know (which is okay, you probably didn't because of your education system) summer is coming in Australia, which is what we call "bushfire season" and that means shit gets flammable very fast, thus why some places need to be cut back. Also we are allowed to be on crown land.
This land doesn't belong to you, it is own by the govermant, or a farmer, the state you are living in...etc...
They can do what ever they want, and you have to obey.
the land always belongs to the sovereign power, landowners just have a lease
>Many of these trees were my friends.
This is a sad thought, it would be a shame if some machinery left there suddenly got destroyed.
Now it's your shooting range
you know what to do
no he doesn't
Destroy the loggers with alcohol and fire
well anon, the way I see it for you.... there is nothing left to do except have sex with all of their families and animals.
>Many of these trees were my friends.
We are going to war.
WHERE THE FRICK IS OP
Teddy K: The Revenge
You know what to do, anon.
You've been camping on timber leases moron. Same thing happened to one of my favorite hunting spots. Sucks dude.
