The US still has thousands of decommissioned M60s just sitting in storage.

The US still has thousands of decommissioned M60s just sitting in storage. Why not just give them those cheap off the shelf upgrade packages and send them to Ukraine?

>Modern optics and electronics
>Uprated engine
>Better armor pack
>AC/APU
>120mm upgrade available
>25mm autocannon for the commander

    >The US still has thousands of decommissioned M60s just sitting in storage
    they dont
all of them were sold off as part of FMS, most to israel and turkey
if there are any remaining they certainly wouldnt be in running condition and would likely be non-functional parts donors

    >Why not just give them those cheap off the shelf upgrade packages and send them to Ukraine?
because the cost of upgrading an M60 to modern standards is better spent on upgrading an M1A1 to M1A2 standards
the turkish upgrade packages are marketed towards countries who simply wouldnt have access to modern MBTs at all

the US also has thousands of decommissioned M1 Abrams and F16's just sitting instorage. It is not giving those to Ukraine because they don'T want Ukraine to quickly drive out the russians, they want Ukraine to be strong enough to not lose, but too weak to decisively win.

The US wants a several year long russian disarmament program

I think this is the correct answer.

A more israelitey Joo leader has arrived on the world war scene and he speaks English and dresses more formally than what’s his name.

Also, I find it supremely ironic that T-shirt guy let all his fellow Heebs scamper out of Jookraine to Israel once the Russkies invaded, and many of them went to a Israel in time get nuked by Iranian proxy.

Fucking PWN3D as the kids would say.

So in a fortnight the US will send thousands of tanks, hundreds of planes and unitary ATACMS to Ukraine?

No they don't. The only nations with a sizeable amount of M60's are Turkey and Egypt. Neither of which will hand them over to Ukraine.

    >Uprated engine
das it mane? Is that when the on-paper engine specs are not up to par with whatever heavy upgrade the vehicle received, but the upgrade was already paid for and the engineers are told to STFU and go revise all the documentation to make the manuals match reality?

Ukraine will just drive them towards minefields.

What Ukraine needs are those unmanned armored bulldozers that the IDF have.

Giving away our contingency supplies just because a country has been invaded by one of our adversaries might make you bleeding heart leftists feel good, but you fail to understand that we NEED those contingency supplies in case, for example, a country is invaded by one of our adversaries. Your feel-good politics would leave us completely unable to defend our interests from attack by our adversaries, all just for the sake of defending our interests against attack by one of our adversaries.

I'm so sick of ignorant people like you who can't see the forest for the trees. Only my hardboiled cynicism and willingness to make the decisions that everybody is else is too scared or too educated to make keeps us safe. I've always believed that wearing blinkers is a great way to keep yourself focused on the problem in front, and that's why you should trust in strong men like me to make good decisions.

Any war where we would need to reactivate 60 year old tanks is a war that we've already lost nigga.

    >even more outdated than Ukraine's fleet of T-72s
    >use parts that are out of production
    >yet another type of ammunition that needs to be sourced
    >Ukraine's problem right now isn't the number of tanks it can put into the field, it's gaining air superiority and ejecting Russian troops from prepared defensive lines full of mines and ATGMs that would be an extreme hazard to even the most modern tanks
