Aight. So I have a couple WTF stories, not really "scary" per se.
    >16
    >White
    >Go to visit my mom at work for some reason.
    >Industrial park. Run down. Old. Daytime.
    >Approach business entrance, door is open.
    >Man steps out, pulls a knife on me and makes threatening gestures.
    >I freeze.
Salesman thought I was the BF of one of the receptionists, thought he'd try his hand at a funny prank. Still upset I didn't close the distance, kick him in the balls and bounce his fucking skull off the curb a couple times.
    >Probably 12
    >Friend has a "small business"
    >Some inventory comes up stolen
    >He puts word out on the street that there's a reward
    >Gets a tip
    >Tells me and my cousin to get in the truck, make sure the gun is loaded.
    >Proceed to roll around the hood being very conHispanicuous, giving the wrong impression.
    >Approach an intersection after trolling the hood, pausing in front of the wrong houses.
    >Silver Impala, limo tent enters the intersection. Sun roof opens. A hand waves us to follow him.
    >My friend decides it'd probably be better to leave and not drive into an ambush, thankfully.
    >19 or 20
    >Running hogs with a buddy out on his deer lease.
    >Dogs are worn out or just not worth a shit.
    >Head on back to camp.
    >Bunch of mean old rednecks drunk on light beer.
    >Friend chats with the rednecks. I take a seat and close my eyes, long day, tired.
    >Hear head redneck say something about "Cornhole him while he's sleeping", stand up, draw my gun down on him and inform him that I'll die first.
    >Head off without incident.

How long ago was all this? If it's been 10+ years then that's normal I think.

Stay away from stupid or crazy people.
                You'll be just fine.

Because I was a permaNEET for the longest time. Currently in training though, maybe I'll manage to get my act together before the inevitable.

                I'm proud of you anon.
But how did you manage to NEET it up for 20 years after high school?
I feel like I'd be dead before then.

A mix of luck and "survivalism". Most of that time I lived with my then girlfriend (now wife) from her parents small financial support while she was pretending to study, and the occasional stroke of luck (small inheritance and stuff). After I was forced to apply for gibs, I had a lot more money on one hand, but also pressure to get back on my feet so here I am.
I'm not proud of it in any way but what can you do, hindsight is always 20/20.

I just feel like I would've succumbed to the elements you know?
But yeah stick to that training and put it to good use. I can't imagine what it would be like as an older man living one day at a time.

Withdrawing from the outside world helped, to be a little cynical. But thanks you for the encouragement, I don't feel the need to compete with my peers, but I still want to live comfortably by myself in the future.

Get into crypto asap. Tt was the same for me but then i bought chainlink a few years ago and went from 10k to 800k networth so now I got to chill and do nothing for years and skip ahead of my peers in the rat race. Hopefully there will be another bullrun and I'll be able to retire in the next 5 years

Well, now that I have at least some funds, crypto surely sounds compelling, but it's a huge gamble if you have no idea where to start, like me. Any recommendations?

You know how if you read a board on PrepHole every day eventually you get to a point where you can scroll down every thread in the catalogue and know what theyre going to say without even reading them? Go read PrepHole to that point and then you can will be able to pick out the jeets from the smart anons discussing gems. Make a twitter account because crypto twitter influencers are the main force driving normies during the crypto bullmarkets. Wait until the fed pivots from raising interest rates to enter the market. And read a book called Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John J Murphy so you have some idea of risk management and won't get caught holding your crypto into a bear market

I'll look into that, thanks. I'm not looking to get rich but living comfortably without financial worries sure sounds nice.

The rewards bitcoin pays out to miners gets cut in half roughly every four years, it's called the 'halvening' and there's been a massive parabolic bull run after that happens every time since bitcoin's inception. The next one will be in 2024. A lot of the indicators say bitcoin is bottomed currently and it's time to buy in for the next halvening, but bitcoin has never existed during a US recession and I personally think it will go lower and break all of them because of the fed raising interest rates. Now could be a good time to start buying in small amounts though

You don't close the distance when someone has a knife. Seriously. This is cop-lore but I heard (from a cop in my criminal justice class) they'll put police officers in white onsies and have them wrestle a guy with a marker. Never were they unmarked. This story promptly followed by a video they show cops, where its all former or active police officers talking about getting stabbed..."I didn't see the knife" and "Well it was a woman with a nail file, i was 220lb at the time and 6'1" and how after arresting that woman they had to go to the hospital for stab wounds.
Don't fuck with knives. Learn to identify knifes fast (most people get stabbed because they try to wrestle or fight someone who they didn't know had a knife) and to MAKE distance. Then mozambiq that fucker assuming you're not slow and got stabbed in the kidney and spine.
