Pro-CCP internet trolls mostly operate from cheaper and less governed locations in southeast asia like Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia. So no, it's not usually effective for pro-CCP trolls.

As an interesting aside, the troll farms sometimes intersect with chinese organized criminal operations running scams at industrial scale. The online scam businesses frequently use indentured (read: slave) labor - people who have been first scammed in turn, stripped of their passport on foreign soil, and kept on the "job" through deceptive or coercive means. The interchange between the two mean that the poor fellow posting pro-chinese propaganda and talking points may not even be paid for arguing with you - they might be for example some poor indonesian guy slaving away in a windowless block house in laotian heat and humidity, running scams for his employer without pay, occasionally being rented out to the troll farm for propaganda blitzes.

CCP shills on PrepHole, YouTube, Quora, etc. typically fall into three distinct categories:
        1. CCP agents who have free access to the Internet for the purpose of spreading disinformation and engaging in ideological subversion.
        2. Shills paid by the CCP to spread propaganda (i.e. 50 cent army). Many of these people are not in China, instead coming from places in SEA like Burma, Cambodia, etc.
        3. Psyopped Westerners (/pol/tards, tankies, etc.)
In all of these cases, copypastas like

You meet a lot of them in Australia and Canada and some parts of yurop, and once you’ve met one they become immediately obvious on the internet because they all have the exact same insecurities and posting style.
The most popular cope among western-living mainland-raised Chinese right now is the line “the great firewall of China is to protect the west from Chinese netizens” which is just a great exemplar of their psychology in general imo. You’ll see it a lot, and when you do know that you’re talking to someone whose parents sent them to the west for a better education. They’re essentially middle class college kids. Think about the weird way college kids from your own country cope, I’m sure you can see the similarities

Except that they failed because the hardcore communists tried to pull off a failed coup that tarnished the stability of the Politburo which gave the secessionists the "ammo" they needed to just break off from the Soviet Union instead of making reforms.

there were both those who were against any kind of economic reform which was going to remove the state job assignment program that university students had until then (all students after graduating university were assigned a job as a civil servant by the party), and there were other students who thought that those reforms were not enough and that overthrowing the entire system was better (similar to the secessionists who won in the USSR and broke the Soviet Union).
The CCP managed to clamp down on both of them in 1989, and managed to adopt all the economic reforms they needed whilst still keeping the CCP in power, (which is what the USSR failed to do).

I understand your ships don't stay out at sea long but those ships spent over 100 to 200 days at sea with only at sea replinsment because the navy was scared of covid. It's actually impressive they could run that long without advanced maintenance in the Pacific. Not that a fricking Chinaman would ever know about long term deployment.

Oh look, its that one photo that you have and nothing else of ships returning to port after long unexpected deployments from corona. When your ships actually leave port long enough to get rust you're allowed to have an opinion. Btw you still haven't answered why you can't come up with any new photos despite it being 3 years after the pandemic.

They were at first, but then they went on a carrier building spree with the Kuznetsov-class and the Ulyanovsk class carriers but couldn't finish them before the fall of the USSR. In fact the current Chinese carrier force is very similar to what the Soviets had in mind (two STOBAR carriers + one CATOBAR supercarrier), with the Liaoning (Type 001) & Shandong (Type 002) STOBAR carriers + Fujian (Type 003) CATOBAR carrier.

No, the soviet don't have long range anti-ship missiles, carriers still outrange them. PLAN's main strike element are their 052D and 055 with their 1500km ranged ASBM, which give them the same max range than carriers.
Chinese carriers are mostly for Intel, EM and Air cover for the rest of the fleet, their J-35 don't even have anti-ship weapons.

  13. 11 months ago

The Chinese Navy will probably only keep growing for another 10 years though considering that the Chinese are A) not interested in force projection B) their economic boom from industrialization is starting to slow, C) their demographic situation means they will be getting weaker soon, and D)more of their budget will have to start going towards maintenance soon as all their shiny new toys become shiny aging toys.

All this is also why they're gonna invade Taiwan soon. The rise of China is not going to continue for much longer, they're essentially peaking now and they know it.
