The infamous S500 is in serial production.

The infamous S500 is in serial production. Russia is developing S550, which is supposed to be capable of shooting down satellites. Do you think S600 will be developed to shoot down ICBMs?
Or is it possible that Russia wont need to intercept ICBMs since after enough satellites are downed, space becomes useless and it's all about who has the Hypersonic missile?

I mean, weapons look cool and all, but the psychopaths in power use them for some cold strategic calculations all the time.

Also, please post AA systems.

you misunderstand how serial production works. it means that one unit being constructed is in front of another and so on. the s-500 has been in serial production for years.

OK, this one was given a bit without explanation, but, long story short, if we destroy a bunch of satellites, space becomes useless and we can't have any space exploration, any other satellites and any more ICBMs

Anon the Kessler effect doesn't create a solid barrier through which no missiles can pass.
Most of them will get through in fact, especially if they are beefy bois that are somewhat resistent to micro debris. Like ICBMs.

So the EO/IR sensor (black circle) doesn't interfere with the MMV seeker right by it. It uses a dual seeker.

Seems fine to me. Raytheon helped them design it, so, it should be great. Along with the US paying for it to be built at the tune of $100+ million.

These russian S300-400-500 are rather complex systems consists of multiple missiles and radars, which the russians turn into even more sub-models by upgrading older systems with modern compents and missiles. So an ukie S-300 is nothing like a russian S-300 due to the latter being upgraded to be fully digital and with new types of missiles. Stating that the S-500 is operational is meaningless, state which types of missile and which types of radar etc etc.

The same way SU-57's are in serial production. They are getting the first ten "in 2022", but Almaz Antey is booked until 2025 making S-400s. This is inline with Alexei Krivoruchko's statement. They also cost $600million USD to buy, which, Russia doesn't have. Or else the T-14 and SU-57 would be in mass production already.

      >but the following March Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said it would not enter service until 2025.

      >On Thursday, Russia’s TASS news agency, citing an anonymous defense industry source, reported that the Ministry of Defense had signed a contract with manufacturer Almaz-Antey for the first ten S-500 ‘systems’, with deliveries beginning in the first half of 2022, after testing wraps up later in 2021. Almaz-Antey declined to confirm the report, however.

I've yet to see these 10 systems, though.
