The real answer is this: The CIA allows Toyota to un-gimp the new hiluxes in Ukraine. Like every other fucking thing coming out of Toyota right now, Hiluxes will be fast.
Japan produced around 900 Type 74 and have 150 of them in service which getting replace by Type 16. They have probably a lot of them sitting around which can be upgraded. Type 90 is also an option but they probably dont want to give them away or if they do its just too little.
But I doubt it will be anything heavy. Western ammunition and light weapons they have in stock

Any amount given would be stupid. Russia is not a threat to Japan. Kuril Islands are safe. China is the concern. Japan should up its missile defence and seek to upgrade radars to the point of being able to detect and shoot down hypersonics.
