When someone bombs Assad and his command structure to shit and calls the rest of the remaining forces up and tells them they'll get the same treatment if they don't play ball.

The entire damn fricking problem with that war was the abject refusal of everyone to target Assad when he was the main fricking reason several groups were fighting in the fricking first place. At this point there's so many god damn blood feuds and alliances and shit god knows how you would sort anything out but killing Assad and breaking the Syrian state so it can actually be reformed would be a good first 2 steps.

            >but muh power vacuum.
Does it fricking look like Assad's got a stable hold on power anywhere but right on his ass?

And the USA needs to pull Turkey's leash sooner or later or they're gonna cause trouble in the long run.

              >Pull Turkeys leash
I disagree. It’s their neighbor, let them deal with it. I hope they invade and occupy that shithole. The Turks and Israelis can decide what to do with it. The US has basically no interest in Syria now that it’s been destroyed.

Syria has like 2 dozen armed groups that fricking HAAATE each other with allegiances patrons all over the continent that fricking HAAATE each other.

And it has chemical weapons. And they're right next to Israel, a major non-NATO ally, Turkey, a NATO state and major part of the world trade network, and a Lebanon, a major part of the world shipping network (which doesn't need ANOTHER disaster).

The US has an interest in fricking Syria.

Israel is only an ally by name. They don't contribute much in the fight against terror other than perhaps their Mossad. But that alone isn't valuable enough to justify the billions. If you like them because they're "God's chosen people" *le basedface* then cool, donate with your own money. But don't forget everyone else to donate.

I don't have to like Israel that much (I don't) to think it would be a very dumb idea to have loose binary sarin withing spitting distance of a shitton of the world's trade.

Or at all, since that would mean *legitimately deniable* chemical weapons attacks which is just a fricking horrifying prospect. People being able to just say it was some Assad shit that was still hanging around that they had nothing to do with would be horrifying.

No. Turks are a cancer and need to be contained. They're no better than Russians, they just didn't inherit the arsenal of the USSR. If Turkey had, they would be behaving exactly like Russia, probably even worse. Turkey needs to be contained and defanged. Without Russia, the reason(s) to tolerate Turkey are vastly diminished. Russia behaving like a drunk vatBlack person on a krokodil bender is pretty much the only reason to tolerate Turkey up until now ... without Russia, overlooking the depraved degeneracy that is a turkroach will no longer be necessary.

                >They though getting rid of Gaddafi was a good move and it just turned Libya into a fricking hellhole with actual slave markets
Nobody "got rid" of Gaddafi. All they did was bomb his materiel to shit cause he was using it to massacre his own people. He got his ass handed to him and captured and killed by his own people who hated his ass due to misrule ALL ON HIS OWN from there.

Destroying his materiel WAS a good move. Best case scenario, it's still a fricking hellhole but with more tanks. Worst case scenario, it's a hellhole with more tanks but a lot more fricking people have to die to turn it into that. Motherfricker was on his way out.

The time to do it was 2013.

Yeah, no shit. And none of the wars turned out how we wanted because we'd never bother to actually invest in building up countries. How much money did the CIA throw to corrupt shitbags through USAID in Afghanistan that could have been used to actually develop the fricking country into something the people would actually fight for? How hard did the people fight for those corrupt shitbags? Bribes only get you so damn far.

YPG generally don't go riding around in armored vehicles wearing CVC helmets. In fact, one of the reasons that everyone from ISIS to Turkey is able to keep invading Kurdish territory with impunity is the fact that while the Kurds have an army, they consistently lack the equipment of a modern army. Stuff that even the Ukrainians have in abundance like MBTs, APCs, artillery, and helicopters are a rarity in the Peshmerga.

regardless of casualty numbers it was a company of poor schmucks being stationed all the way out in territory where they'd easily be surrounded, holding out with basically fricking nothing, contaminated water supply and limited food, for longer then they aught to.
It's worth noting that an attempted relief column that tried to get to them got BTFO'd so they absolutely were surrounded.

The commanders involved knew it was a fricking disaster waiting to happen but the ambassador from Ireland sent by the UN basically thought "oh yeah I'll be big guy, darkie ain't got shit on the UN-" only to find out Darkie had a lot of guns and Belgian/French Mercenaries, and also Katanga wasn't going to play around.
The survivors got the memoryhole treatment because the people in charge felt they made them look like fools, surrendering when they were out of all ammo, and those frick probably thought it would've been better for them all to just die.

Anyways, morale of the story- being an actual blue helmet in the field sucks ass, don't ever do it, you'll only be shit on, even if you do your job.

pretty much. even if the state of russia collapses it'll just continue on under a new successor government. the only solution to finally get rid of the russian subversiveness is for russians themselves to disappear as a group.

Had a discussion with my brother last night. I warned him to take a look at the world and evaluate what it would look like if the Russian Federation balkanized, to try and imagine the economic and political disruption to the world, the several localized wars that would break out over territorial borders. Some very serious changes are coming up shortly, and predicting their impact is a nightmare even for highly experienced and educated "experts."

Then I told him to imagine that the Russian Federation might be gone in under 18 months (my personal prediction), but that it could happen by the end of this year or before next Spring arrives. He got really quiet as he started thinking about what he could do right now to prepare for that. Then I asked him, "So, I might be wrong, might even be probably wrong. But, you're imagining it and trying to see the world without Russia [as a heavyweight nuclear power]. Now, do you think Russia will still be a country by 2030?" He shook his head "Nope."

Russia is over. Think about all the little ways you can behave every day, every little action you can take, to help make this happen faster. And do it.

Yes EU4 is actually decent as a simulation of interstate anarchy and the wars that result from it. It's bad at simulating material limitations though, like states should have difficulty constructing ships where there is limited supply of wood, or geographical barriers like rivers and mountains impeding conquests.

On one hand, this is exactly the situation I was terrified of from April onwards, not that the Russians would win, but that they would lose in Ukraine so badly that they'd flip over the table and fire the nukes in one last act of spiteful rage.

On the other, I'm so sick of listening to their empty threats of nuclear war that I also wish they'd just go ahead and fricking do it just for the sake of preserving even a shred of their national honor.

    >The Georgia have the military forces to pull it off?
Yes but it's a very dangerous game because when it comes to troop numbers and equipment they have shit all compared to a place like Ukraine. They have a 10th the population and maybe 15% the land of Ukraine. They also don't have an arsenal big enough to accept heavy equipment losses, they don't have proper fighter jets, just a squadron of Su-25's, they have 100 tanks and 100 BMP's to their name, they are not by any stretch well equipped.
I love dunking on former super.. I mean great... I mean regional power Russia but unless they fight to literally the bitter end in Ukraine expending every tank, IFV, APC, artillery gun, helicopter and plane in Ukraine they will be able to overwhelm the Georgians.
So I think the operation will work but there is a chance for serious consequences after the Ukraine war when Russia is looking to hit someone small in impotent rage. I will laugh so fricking hard if Georgia turns into another Chechia for a Russia that depleted it's army in Ukraine though.

      Anonymous

so when are we giving the Georgians modern AT and Artillery? For tanks I think we could give them some M60A3s with modern 105mm ammo and they'd basically have shit that's on par or slightly better than the trash Russia would have to pull out of storage.

What do you mean you don't pay taxes? I have an apartment I'm renting to some Russians techbros that ran away from Russia.

          Anonymous

No taxes on foreign assets and their capitals gains. And the techbros are not paying anything either. Either they just don't register here at the revenue service, or they do and pay 1%.

Also I'm looking for a new apartment. Any good sites to find them? Ss.ge is terrible and just has the same 10 apartment pictures 300 times.

Poles know they're gonna be in a massive shitfest should Ukraine fall so yeah[...]

It's my personal evaluation that Poland has already determined they are going into Belarus. I think that's the primary reason they're gearing up, they have intelligence that indicates that's one of the most likely endgames fro m this shitshow. But, also that they stand a huge chance of going toe-to-toe with whatever is left of Russia after Ukraine shits it out (Kaliningrad if nothing else). Maybe instead of Belarus, maybe in addition to Belarus ... and if Poland doesn't gear up, they will be right & proper fukt. Pretty sure the same applies to the Baltic states. Estonia knows they're the frontline battlefield if they get into it with Russia, but Latvia & Lithuania are looking harder at Belarus and Kaliningrad while all three have enough solidarity to realize they need to work together for both Belarus & Russia contingencies.

In a sense, Belarus needs to be liberated, and NATO should be looking for an excuse to engineer that. It will cripple Russia even further and probably add balkanization pressure to the Russian Federation collapse.

The end of the war Ukraine will be a perfect moment for that. There are quite alot Belarussians fighting on the side of the Ukrainians. They plan to take all that military experience home with them one day. I'm not sure what sentiment there currently is in Belarus in regards to Lukashenko, but the seem pretty much done with him at this point he also didn't make himself all that popular with the army lately. That country is a powder keg just waiting for someone to light the fuse. Personally I expect that those exiles currently fighting in Ukraine will do that. And Ukraine will probably assist them with their intelligence agencies.

Often overlooked is the transitive property.
Russia is squatting on rightful Taiwanese clay, Taiwan is the rightful property of China.

Nah, "3rd Rome" ain't actual Orthodox doctrine. Just Church being apparatchik of the Muscovite princes.

          Anonymous

Out of all "3rd Rome" claimants, Russia has the weakest one. Seriously, one Byzantine princess married a Moskal prince after Constantinople fell and they go full we wuz.

            Anonymous

I think it was more about being an independent Orthodox nation, and the strongest one. Fair enough, but at least Medieval Serbia had entire dynasties of Saint Kings, while it takes martyrdom to get Romanovs glorified.

It was also a matter of having the first Orthodox Patriarchate in Europe with a capital that wasn't...well Muslim.

They had an empire, led by a Caesar, bearing the blood of the Roman line, and a Christian religious head to recognize the legitimacy of that emperor.

That right there's a Roman Empire.

                Anonymous

Nothing Roman about it. Culturally they had more in common with the Mongols, and not the good stuff like yurts and throat-singing. The bad stuff, like their whole damn economic system, which continues in a modified form to this very day.

                Anonymous

Black person the emperor started losing power after Christianity and Rome is supposed to be a world super power. Not some backwater frozen forest. Russian cultural indentity like corruption and face come directly from mongols.

In December 2019, Zelensky visited Azerbaijan where both he and Aliyev affirmed support for each other's territorial integrity.

In October 2020, in the midst of the war between Azerbaijan and Armenian separatists, Zelensky reaffirmed Ukraine's support towards Azerbaijan.

In December 2020, a month after the war ended, Zelensky invited Ilham Aliyev to visit Ukraine.

In September 2022, Ukraine called for sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgia's former Prime Minister, and several Georgian oligarchs.

Every Georgian PM—half a dozen of them—since Ivanishvili grabbed power a decade ago in October 2012 has been from the same party—Georgian Dream—including the current PM, Irakli Garibashvili, who are all in Russia's pocket against the wishes of the Georgian people.
For more about the situation with Georgia, read the two articles below:
    > https://eureporter.co/world/azerbaijan-world/2022/07/20/azerbaijan-is-ukraines-only-strategic-ally-in-the-south-caucasus/

Not coincidentally, now Georgian Dream has been talking about holding a referendum about whether to go to war with Russia.

The stars are aligning for Georgians to take some cues from Ukrainians and Azerbaijanis in actually fighting back, and finally take their country back from its pro-Russia leaders and the Russia-backed separatists in the north!

Georgia alone? absolutely not. The Russians would be in Savannah by the end of the day, then hit Atlanta by the end of the week. They may be in deep if they push to Atlanta because there are so many guns in GA, but I'd say it'd be an overall pyrrhic victory at best.
Now, if you could get Louisiana, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, and Virginia in on the game, Russia would be banging their head against a brick wall. Shit, you get the Appalachia boys in there and I say the Russians get stopped at Hilton Head, they don't even make it to Savannah
