You need to do it in moderation. The worst time to start smoking is when you're a teenager. Smoking a ton of weed in your teens can permanently lower your IQ by ~5 points because it alters your development. If you want to be a pothead then you need to be around 25 or older for it to not have permanent effects on you.

While there will absolutely be a 'big weed' (lmao), I don't think it will ever have the same kind of power that companies like RJ Reynolds et all had. Weed is just too easy to cultivate on a small scale. Tangentially, the easier a drug is to grow on your own, the more work pharmaceutical companies will do to make sure that their synthetic substitute is the only thing that's legal (look for this in the next upcoming battle over psilocybin therapy).

Also, I think the war against tobacco is a sham and people should be allowed to smoke it if they want to. It's weird to see so much hullabaloo over tobacco to this day while people promote cartridge vapes which are just as bad if not worse. Now people like Chuck Schumer want to go after people using nicotine pouches which is crazy as shit since I know multiple people who have gone from a pack a day to weening themselves off cigs entirely through pouches and finally quitting all together.

I do agree with the other guy that wanting more regulation is a bad thing in general, especially because politicians are mind numbingly incompetent.

Some people just need an excuse to enjoy something, they can't just say "I like to smoke a bit after work or on the weekends to wind down." because they're afraid they'll look bad. I know somebody who just says "I like getting high." and leaves it at that and I feel far more respect for them than people who make tons of excuses. Crazy enough, despite this guy smoking constantly he's the most active, successful and dependable person I know, meanwhile the people who gives excuses for their use tend to be shitheads.

Y'know what the difference is between weed and alcohol? You smoke weed to get stoned, but you drink alcoholic things primarily to taste them. I don't drink wine, beer, mead, ale, sake, whisky and shochu to get wasted, I drink them for their flavor profiles and taste, if I get a buzz going, that's just a happy side effect.

It isn’t but that’s not what your argument was and now you’re changing it based on my response. You said people drink alcohol for the taste and the buzz is a side effect. That’s a lie. You would have never drank alcohol in the first place if it didn’t give you a buzz. You don’t drink it for the taste, the taste is a side effect. Drink non-alcoholic beer then if you want the taste but my guess is that’s gay or something to you.

                Good answer, really thought provoking.

NTA you're responding to but you're moronic and wrong. Certain alcoholic beverages do enhance the flavor of certain foods, like wine and gin.

Then by your own logic you’re not drinking primarily for the taste of the drink but for its addition to the taste of the food. Those are two different things.

Can confirm, I’m friends with both potheads and alcoholics. Both are annoying in different ways, but hanging out with an alcoholic is fricking exhausting. It usually entails them trying to get you to drink as much as them (i.e. a lot), and ends up with you picking them up off the bathroom floor at 2am. Alcoholics are also pretty destructive in my experience (vomiting on the couch, stumbling and knocking shit over, being generally rowdy, etc). Sometimes it’s fun but usually it’s just fricking exhausting. Potheads are spacey and unreliable but at least they won’t pick fights with strangers or throw up in your kitchen sink.

It'd be "Fuddery" not a "Fudd". The Fudd is the person, not the act. Fudd is meant as in Elmer Fudd. It's meant to insult old farts that think the second amendment is exclusively about hunting deer and anything but their Remchester Durrslayer 9001 should be banned.

Weed meaning no guns for you is not Fuddery. This is infringer bullshit. Also, pretty sure the courts are working on that right now and last I heard the weed question being on the 4473 was b***h slapped hard. Pretty sure it was a district CoA though, not SCotUS. If I'm misremembering it's still going to have to be addressed sooner or later as more and more states legalize and federal legalization via schedule reduction looms ever closer. Part of why it's going to have to be addressed is there's already titanic levels of non-compliance in legal weed states. The amount of lying on the 4473 regarding that question is undoubtedly ridiculously high... heh heh...

Weed was demonized by a shitstain named Harry J Anslinger so he could use it to legitimize his proto-DEA's existence. The shit literally grew on the banks of the Potomac in DC before the "clean up". You want to fight cocaine, meth, heroin, and fentanyl? I'm with you. Execute dealers, coyotes, and mules. Crucify them on the border for all to see and leave the corpses to rot in the sun. JDAM the cartels to dust. Weed? Legalize it and prohibit the addition of addictive or carcinogenic chems (like nicotine) as well as genetic modification except by traditional breeding and you're good. "As it grows or not at all". Weed is only a huge problem if it's spliced with harder drugs (the harder drugs are a real problem), you legalize it in a way that allows tobacco companies to make it horribly addictive and far worse for health, or you consume it before your brain is done developing (around 25).

Realistically the only way SCOTUS would rule in the potheads favor is if they somehow manage to successfully argue that the entire question of drug use of a 4473 is unconstitutional. Which I have my doubts about.

In which case the question is moot because the 4473 only refers to illegal drug use.

“Soon” is a pretty relative term. Will they federally legalize weed in 5-10 years? Probably not. Will they legalize it in 15-20 years? Most likely. When states like Montana and Alaska are legalizing weed, that’s a pretty good indication that it has bipartisan support from the population and politicians will do anything to get re-elected.

Legalization is happening whether you like it or not and SCotUS is likely to argue in favor of 2nd amendment rights even if that helps weed, especially after they tied their own hands with Bruen. The big thing that needs to happen for weed legalization is it being moved to something like Schedule V or completely de-scheduled.

Congress isn't doing anything until the election is over and even then, it'll depend on who has the majority and the oval office.

Druggies have zero disposable income therefore they can't afford drugs, meanwhile alcoholics can go into debt to pay for a gun or two.

    It is actually insane how
You are allowed to own guns if you drink alcohol and it is never even asked in the 4473
Idk what are the statistics but I am pretty sure more drunk have committed violent acts such as killing a spouse or themselves
    Than any pot head
    Let that sink
What ever reason marijuana user are not allowed to own firearms is not for the benefit of society

The marijuana situation is basically just the feds trying to find a way to tax it and congressmen waiting on a boomer stock to back that allows them to profit off weed.

It was her dog she stabbed, and it lived. Only to get run over a few days later and die. Lol

But the plea was temporary insanity and it becomes a bit more likely when you find out she stabbed the frick out of herself and tried to slit her own throat even. Her boyfriend pushed her to smoke and most likely it was laced with something, not just weed.

It's been years for me, I honestly stopped partaking because my guy got a real career and I didn't feel like going through the hoops to get a medical card, so I just gave it up without any real motive other than wanting to save some cash here and there. But on the way to the range today I stopped at a jeet gas station to get some fuel and snacks and figured I'd grab some delta 8 gummies since they were right there, like the universe was telling me to get high again. Took a small nibble from one (tasted like fricking dirt, almost spit it out) and drove to my club. About 20 minutes into shooting my groups were getting super tight, usually I can do 1.25 MOA with my SR15 + PLxC, but I was shooting straight up bug holes at 200 yd, and had this feeling of euphoria washing over me. Gun was getting a little hot and I hate waiting for my guns to cool off, so I grabbed my 7.5" bear creek lulz pistol with a holosun dot and slapped a mag of tula in just to bang some steel. No shit, first round impact at 500 yards. Then another. Walked it out to 6, 7, skipped 8 and went straight to 900, ding after ding. The bolt locked back and it just hit me that I heard the steel ring every single shot. And get this, my dot was off the entire time.

i smoked every day for five years or more, one day I just stopped and I don't think about it. I thought there would be some difference in my acuity or focus but there isnt, my life is exactly the same with or without weed, just $200 less in my pocket every month.

I have no issue with armed stoners, theres no intrinsic danger handling guns stoned just like you can drive a car and play video games perfectly fine.

Yeah, I was high constantly every day for like 2-1/2 years until one day I just decided not to keep buying it. Now I'm an electrical engineer. I don't think it impaired my mental faculties at all.

It's not that weed makes you stupid, it's just that stupid people smoke weed. You could make the same correlation between fat people and mental moronation. Oftentimes it's just that idiots don't have the willpower to lose weight. Alcohol though, I have seem that turn some of my smartest childhood friends into complete morons. It should be banned and swapped with weed imo.

regular consumption of alcohol doesn't cause long-term behavioural and psychological changes
weed use, even in the most miniscule amounts, does
LSD has more chance of being legalised in conjuction with firearms ownership since it has lesser long-term effects

Took me 5 seconds to deboonk. Alcohol is a harder drug than weed in every sense of the term hard drug. More dangerous, you can easily die from overdosing, causes more health problems. Of course none of this matters because this thread is just alchies and stoners pointing the finger at eachother while meth users jerk off and claim they get so much done in a day.

Weed should be treated like alcohol then. You should have to be 21 to buy it, and you shouldn't be allowed to go out in public smelling like weed. Everybody knows not to get drunk in public, but for some reason potheads think it's ok to stink up the entire room wherever they go. Nobody wants to smell your nasty ass. If you wanna get stoned or eat pot brownies at house parties or whatever then go right ahead. It's when you go onto the public roads and to the grocery store obviously under the influence that ticks people off.

There are also two types of people who DONT smoke weed
    >completely normal and productive members of society who choose not to smoke marijuana
    >obnoxious, perpetually online nerds who hate weed because they’ve never any had friends to offer it to them, or are too antisocial or paranoid to go out and find some in the first place- these people are usually addicted to getting b8’ed on PrepHole and video games

Its not that weed actually makes you dangerous with a gun, it's that by admitting you smoke weed you admit you are willing to break the law. That's the problem, once it's legalized (an inevitability at this point) this will go away and be the same as alcohol.

    Weed destroys your brain.
"Compared with non-users, cannabis users showed a significant decrease in functional connectivity between the thalamus and the parietal regions in particular, which was particularly prominent in the inferior parietal areas, including the supramarginal gyrus"

"In summary, the research to date suggests that thalamic functional abnormalities are present in schizophrenia and its risk states, that thalamic structure is impacted by lifetime cannabis use exposure and frequency in high risk samples, and that early age of first use and greater use severity and frequency heighten the risk for psychosis."

Alcohol destroys neurons. It also destroys the mitochondria in your body which accelerates the aging process. Alcohol explains why alcoholics look 20 years older than they are, also alcohol decreases your production of human growth hormone, bone density, and increases inflammation.

    legalize psychedelic mushrooms
yes, cannabis is "just a plant" as much as corn or banana is, but psychedelic mushrooms grow naturally all around the usa and have not been manipulated by selective breeding
micro dosing has massive cognitive benefits and larger doses have proven to be better at fighting(or in some cases, outright fixing) a whole host of psychological problems that are otherwise treated by weird concoctions mixed up by big pharma that have 1000 side effects and are often chemically addictive(people who make them know this)
mushrooms are almost impossible to abuse regularly because tolerance builds very quickly
it's something that has been used for possibly tens of thousands of years by humans of many cultures throughout the world, and probably grows naturally in your local forest
making it illegal to consume or pick is absolutely insane

The overwhelming majority of non functional drug users are doing way more than drinking a few beers or smoking a joint. Also as an adult with a career if I have to hear highschoolers talk about the deadbeat no one cares about one more time Im going to lobby my congressman to raise the minimum age of everything to 30.
