The first nail in the coffin of the unloved, unlamented SA80 has been nailed home.

The first nail in the coffin of the unloved, unlamented SA80 has been nailed home. Next the paras will get it, then the entire army will finally be rid of this dogshit albatross of a firearm.
Finally we'll no longer be obliged to try and defend this dumpster fire on PrepHole in hundred post long threads.

SA80 is the most advanced and modern assault rifle in the hands of any standard troops of any army.

For all it's faults, the SA80 never caused an army to loose a war, unlike the M16 did for Vietnam.

And it's way more reliable at firing off tens of thousands of rounds with out a single stoppage.
Has better range and more accurate too.

This entire time I thought the commandos could use whatever they wanted, just at a lesser extent than the freedom the SAS has (which I saw using M4s in pictures over a decade ago)
LOL royal marines were using SA80s all these years?
That would be like US Rangers or Recon using a Keltec

Parts of RM use C8s. SAS has been using AR's since the early 1960's, before it's adoption by the US military.

L85 would have better muzzle velocity and wounding effectiveness than that though. but having said that I'd take the KS1 anyday.
