7.62x39 is shit
no it isn't lol. it's great
explain how.
no
Out of a ten inch barrel supersonic Sig 125gr 300blk carries a higher fps than yugo milspec brass case or golden tiger x39 (these are the hottest bulk factory loads) from a similarly sized 10" barrel yugo m92, and you have the option for better suppression.
Shorter barrels are where x39 shines, because it doesn't lose velocity as rapidly as 5.56 or 5.45 when you neuter it, but even then it's not as good as a "meme" caliber by many people's estimation.
I love my akm, love my sks, love my zpap, live shooting cheap steel case at trash in the woods, etc.
The fact of the matter is, there are much better options out there now, so while it might have been great historically, it just doesn't stack up today.
>supersonic 300 blackedout
Retard alert
>duhhh 300blk is only good for suppression!
god you're retarded.
300 subs are actually the tard bait anon
The caliber shines with supers
300 BO supers match x39 supers almost exactly, except the bullet options for 300 BO is the largest in the market, while x39 being a bastard wierd .311" dia or whatever means you're stuck with garbage ammo or slightly less garbage ammo.
Unironically the best caliber for realistic intermediate caliber needs outside of military use
>Inb4 pics of icepicking 60yr old milsurp FMJ
Ok, now compare how it performs with any quality expanding or fragmenting loads to similar ones in other calibers
>quality expanding or fragmenting loads
lol cool dude, enjoy paying 60cpr for soft points and a buck thirty for TUI rounds, none of which will ever be in large production. 90% of 7.62x39 is trash garbage FMJ steelcase.
>90% of 7.62x39 is trash garbage FMJ steelcase
Which is more than enough for any needs. It just fucking works
>enjoy paying 60cpr for soft point
I'm sorry, what year is it again? Can you even get soft point 5.56 that'll penetrate adequately for less than 60cpr these days? If you're buying quality ammo for either prices are going to be about the same.
>Tui
Complete meme non fragmenting round
>Can you even get soft point 5.56
yes, and its even brass cased unlike the shit i posted. but feel free to gatekeep by saying none of it will 'penetrate'.
also the only JHP ammo you get for x39 is god-awful tula and atomic meme rounds.
> Federal Champion
> 55gr JSP
Wut? That's their sport shooter line. Are they using the same 55gr projo here that they used in the TRU223a/power shok loading?
Are we sure that's not a varmint variation of softpoint?
>Can you even get soft point 5.56 that'll penetrate adequately
Yes, the problem is it performs so well its always out of stock because it's what LEO agencies buy up en masse.
That's why you learn to reload it, cocksucker
You mean 300 BO, better bullet selection, non-fucky shoulder angle and bolt face.
>non-fucky shoulder
isnt that firearm specific? 300 BO is also pissing expensive
for what its worth some units still use x39
>300 BO is also pissing expensive
the cheapest x39 is 33cpr, the cheapest 300blk is 49cpr, more but hardly 'pissing'
huh I remember it being a lot more. Maybe im thinking of subs
300blk has always been around 50-70cpr, the issue is that everything ELSE got more expensive.
youre probably right. I hope those domestic factories can get x39 up and running or other foreign factories open up.
Quality (aka worthwile) x39 isn't any cheaper than quality 300bo
anon, the inventors of 7.62x39 don't even use it anymore. They use 5.45 which is superior to 7.62x39.
Here's a copy pasta

The AR only kills humans 1/5 of the time, the AK kills over triple that at nearly 7/10 times.
7.62x39mm JSP is a devastating round, easily expanding to .70 and punching deep enough to fuck bears, a WASR-10 63 loaded with JSP is my anti moose/bear/skin walker rifle.
This, except 300 BO so I can get actually good SP ammo.
ok enjoy your dollar-a-round PPU or hilariously inaccurate 60cpr tula JSPs. meanwhile my .223 bonnded SPs leave an exit wound the side of a basketball court. while costing ten cents less.
>PPU
>$1
The fuck?
>not having a spam can of Barnul
Sucks to suck.
>inaccurate
I'm not taking 500 yard shots dude, most hunters shoot sub 100 yards here.
ok but you're trying to advertise x39 as being a good round, that doesn't help when the only good ammo is shit that is no longer available. meanwhile i can go buy over a dozen different flavors of 5.56
>only good ammo is shit that is no longer available
Hornady not selling 123gr SST anymore? That stuff was The Shit™. Much like 64gr Power Shok, it was accurate and heavy, and neither one costed what the more premium stuff charged.
>Hornady sst doesn't exist
>ppu
>s&b
Child plz.
The el paso dude wrote about trying to find m67 ammo but I think he couldn't. Which means standard russian trash 762x39 achieved these results. The terrorists in paris possibly used just standard ammo as well.
You stupid fucking noguns reddit garden gnome gay. Stop posting here you don't know shit about anything.
>unironically hurr durr
kys not unironically
Best option for a 7.62x39 ar based on what I've read.
depends on how much you like the charging handle it comes with since you'll be using it a lot
It's pretty much the best ar option for 7.62x39. Don't worry about the virgin trolls, 7.62x39 is a great intermediate caliber that will never go out of style
works great in tarkov fr fr no cap
I don't like how it looks compared to something like the SR-47 therefore I think it's a meme rifle.
>If the m4a1 and galil ace had a kid
I prefer the look of aero precision's ar47
The boomerang mags are just so ugly. Can you even fit three of those things in an AR chest rig/placard? Or do you have to use an AK placard?
So exactly like an ar, just with a different magazine?
And bolts that break
just use a BRS47 upper/lower, KAC rail and flip up sights, m4 stock, and a2 grip, bam done
Have any military or law enforcement adopted it? No? Then it's a meme rifle.
Come back with an actual take
7.62x39 works just fine. Quit being a min-max autist
> t. Finland
>full auto
You can't have one anyways why did you make this shit thread?
My friend has one and the QC is shit. After shooting it, it warms up and is nearly impossible to field strip, he has yet to hear back from them. The magazine slot is not adrenaline proof like an Ak mag slot, if you miss the rock by a little bit you have to field strip it to push the mag out cause there's an unnecessary space toward the front that will catch the ammo in your mag and mag lock your gun. The recoil impulse is also significantly worse than my zpap. Not worth the money over an actual AK.
>gun getting hot after shooting is a QC issue
the gun getting hot causing it to be impossible to strip is certainly an issue.
Unless the lower on the gun is getting so hot that you cannot push out the rear retaining pin, I'm assuming you mean that the bolt carrier is simpy too hot to remove from the gun without pins? I've never burned through enough rifle ammo in succession to hit this point, but I don't think that's going to be specific to a 7.62x39 DI gun.
> If you miss the rock by a little bit you have to field strip it to push the mag out cause there's an unnecessary space toward the front that will catch the ammo in your mag and mag lock your gun
That's not good.
> The recoil impulse is also significantly worse than my zpap
Unless CMMG went full retard and used a lighter recoil buffer spring than any other 7.62x39 AR, I have no idea how your friend's gun recoils signicantly worse than every other 7.62x39 AR on the market, despite being heavier than all of them.
can I get it in 9x19mm
An AR9 version of this that takes Vityaz mags would be really funny. Ask CMMG about it.
>not AR-10 bolt
>di
It's a meme.
> not AR-10 bolt
Close enough for government work.
Ah, that fixes a large problem of the AR15 7.62x39mm rifles having their bolts breaking.
>DI
You'd have to stick with brass exclusively.
>You'd have to stick with brass exclusively.
I thought x39's caper taper alleviated that problem.
The taper actually contributes to the problem, while brass cases have a better seal between the throat and chamber during firing while steel does not. This allows gas and carbon to "leak" into the chamber easier and combined with DI gets it filthy FAST. A word of warning, shoot brass cased first, then steel or you'll get failures to extract due to the brass cases fireforming and sticking to the fouling.
>gets it filthy FAST
Not what I meant. I eant a case taper pn steel case to prevent failures to extract due to steel not shrinking back down like brass does. I've had steel case 5.56 get stuck, even on a short stroke piston gun.
I don't care if the chamber is gross, as long as the cases still come out.
Are these rifles still even in production?
Midway just got some in, so apparently they're finally being made again.
>is superior in your path
>not using the superior x39 rifle
Sure, just expect to pay an additional $500 or so over the mk47 by the time you get the rifle, handguard, and stock.
Fair, the aftermarket handguard is a necessity.
Holy shit i didnt think my thread would last overnight. Glad to see responses
Also forgot to mention that this thing went through a full auto overheating test and lasted around 1,200 rounds before the gas tube failed
It's the only good ar47. But ar47s are kinda retarded
Quit being a gay weirdo and just buy an AK
DI with notoriously dirty 762x39
why would anyone want this?
I just like it bros
Good. It's important to actually like your guns.
Why does 7.62x39 make PrepHole seethe so much? It's a heavy hitter, shines in short barrels and with good barrier penetration cababilities
Because of the deeply baked thought that USA is best and anything made elsewhere can't be better. I will stand by the following thoughts: 556 is superior for USA military tactics. For groups of civilians and guerillas you gotta pick short range or long range. 7.62x39 is great for around 250-300 yards but outside it's range you should be upgrading to .308/ better or getting the fuck out of the area before you get into a firefight.
>It's a heavy hitter
it cant even penetrate class III plates, most combat helmets can stop it.
Who cares you're never going to shoot at anyone wearing armor
It has a lot of bullet mass for being an intermediate cartridge
In europe things are reversed here .300 blackout is a very small niche caliber with no real options while 7.62x39 enjoys popularity
Wierd bullet diameter, no real bullet options. The few ok loadings are the same price as 300 blk, so just get 300 blk.
Because "duty-grade" rifles other than ARs and rifle calibers besides 5.56 that don't enjoy the same economy of scale those do are too expensive for a lot of nogunz/"I have a G19 and 5.56 AR pistol therefore I'm basically a USSOCOM doorkicker" internet experts to buy and keep fed. 7.62×39 ARs are notoriously problematic, and decent AKs start around a grand, and it's 50 cpr for the cheapest non-corrosive steel-cased crap on the market.
Because we optimize for hypotherical scenarios (i.e. fantasy bullshit) in our head, and we don't like it when people come to different conclusions based on their own hypothetical scenario of how they will engage in a gunfight. Unless you have nearly the same gear I do, then one of us must be doing it wrong, and it can't be me.
Which is funny, since even guys who do that shit for a living don't all run their kit the same way.
