Memes aside, should one start preparing a nuclear attack bugout bag? What should one stock up on?

He's becoming insanely fricking obnoxious, I'm not sure if it's intentional and that it servers some purpose or if he actually lost his marbles, but either way, his empty threats have become grating.

Putin is getting older and the war has become an existential threat to his legitimacy, Medvedev was president once and is trying to aggressively rewrite his reputation as pro-Western because Putin has no clear or chosen successor

I honestly believe he's being forced at gunpoint to write shit like that. His new year's list of prediction was glue-huffingly moronic. It's like Monke is forcing Medvedev to utterly debase himself or end up falling out a window.

Of course it is. He wants to seem relevant and not be remembered as Putin’s sock puppet.

As much as I loathe Putin, at least I can admit that he had pretty good prowess on Machiavellian power games before this war. But Medvedev? He’s basically just a rabid, barking chihuahua.

          Anonymous

          >i'd openly kill an officer
No, you'd follow orders because at that very moment you'd think you have more of a (flimsy) chance at somehow surviving the attack than surviving killing your officer. Millions of men have done likewise throughout history. Rebels are one in ten thousand, maybe even less.

            Anonymous

This. Also add in that they're going to be controlling the information you have access to and constantly feeding you propaganda about what's happening elsewhere to convince you that things are going better than they actually are, and that you have a higher chance of survival following orders than you actually do. It's a lot easier to take the "I'd totally kill someone rather than going into this certain death situation" position when you're reading about it afterwards and know that it's certain death.

It's so ridiculous. They are losing the influence war to the west simply because people want to live better lives and not simply 'survive' under russian rule. Same happened to East-Germans, many saw what West had to offer and never looked back. All that Russia has to offer nowadays is natural resources. Do I want their cars, electronics, entertainment? No. They are a decrepit gas station that thinks it's a superpower.
