The AK-47 isn’t being made anymore. It’s many variants are hardly being produced either. The AR platform won. The AR platform is produced in mass to this very day. The AK stockpiles are already drying up and the AK will be just a collectors item in 20 short years. LMAO

Still makes me chuckle seeing the tankies in /akg/ cope hard about the dwindling of their shit platform and the rising price because no one produces a frick ton of them anymore due to the US winning the cold war (then again tankies don’t understand economies of scale)

well Ukraine has been buying and using as many AKs as possible, along with other guns. Poland's military arms manufacturer, FB, is still producing Beryl AKs (for now), and is still producing a shit ton of their AK variants for the American consumer market. WBP, a commercial manufacturer based in Poland, is making legitimate AKMs in 7.62x39 for security contracts, Ukraine, and the US consumer market as well. Cugir of Romania, Arsenal of Bulgaria, Zastava of Serbia, FB Radom and WBP of Poland all still make shit tons of AKs and these are all exported to security agencies and even Ukraine during the current war effort.

both of you are just wrong though. Russia is still using the AK pattern as a standard issue rifle for god knows how much longer, and who knows how much longer Ukraine will use the AK-74. Poland will be moving away from the 5.56 Beryl, but that is still their standard issue rifle as of now.

Vietnam adopted a variant of the Galil Ace and their population is near 100 million. In 7.62x39, no-less. I initially questioned that choice but given their stockpiles, geography, and lack of money, it makes sense.

You can keep pretending but the AK is timeless, it will continue to be in use around the world for hundreds of years to come. The AR has already been replaced and no one cares to keep a finicky aluminum .223 pea shooter fielded. It never really was a great rifle.

The AK47 was designed to be cheap and easy to make with outdated machining equipment
The AR15 was designed to be cheap and easy to make with modern machining equipment
The AK47 was designed for it to be hard for a moronic conscript to break/lose parts and work with shit ass ammo and people who clean guns by dunking them in the river, and the safety was designed so COs could see if everyone had theirs on
The AR15 was designed to be easy to use for a trained soldier, even if cleaning was a b***h..

You'd still find quality AKs for the price of a PSA AR but the government doesn't look kindly when a gun is made anywhere else that the US
