>How are canadian laws for semi auto shotties? Can you still do 7+1 on the 1301?
Center-fire semi-automatic (CF/SA for brevity) long guns, including shotguns, are limited to 5 rounds of the largest cartridge the gun is chambered for. So in this case, five 3" shells, meaning you can get six 2.75" shells in there. This is a Nordic +2 extension that's been permanently plugged to be a +1. CF/SA long guns also must have an 18.5" barrel, otherwise they're considered "Restricted" firearms, which is sort of like SBR/SBS in the States. They have to be registered, and can only be discharged on a licensed range. >Just no collapsible stock and pistol grip I assume?
No feature restrictions. Pistol grips and stocks are good to go, I just don't like them on shotguns personally
Funny you only lose between like 1-2 rounds on that. If you had a semi auto 3.5" then you could have decent capacity prob. I think the worst part of that is needing to register the firearm but also needing to discharge only on a licensed range. Outside of the city here you can shoot anywhere you own land with a sufficient backstop provided it's not near or towards a highway and your neighbors don't care
>Funny you only lose between like 1-2 rounds on that. If you had a semi auto 3.5" then you could have decent capacity prob
Yeah, magazine capacity laws are incredibly gay. Fortunately they only apply to semi-autos here. >I think the worst part of that is needing to register the firearm but also needing to discharge only on a licensed range
That sucks, yeah, but to be clear that doesn't apply to my 1301. They come from the factory with an 18.5" barrel, so they aren't Restricted. I was just explaining the general rules for semi-autos. >Outside of the city here you can shoot anywhere you own land with a sufficient backstop provided it's not near or towards a highway and your neighbors don't care
Yep, same here, but we also have a shitload of public land. We have a huge amount of territory but very few people, so even though I live in the city, it takes me less than an hour to drive to the neighbouring county where I hunt and shoot in the woods
Oh, that only applies to cities? Obviously in the states you can't shoot near urban residential areas except on a range. Doesn't sound too bad compared to the worse states in the US then for shotties. Luckily my state has none of these except shooting in urban areas being restricted.

>Oh, that only applies to cities?
No, sorry for the confusion. What I mean is that the registration+range-only rule only applies to *short-barreled, center-fire, semi-automatics*, and I don't have any of those. All my guns are Non-Restricted, meaning I can shoot them anywhere that it's legal to discharge a gun, including private and public land outside the city limits. And actually, my city does have a public forest within city limits where firearm discharge is legal, but it's usually pretty busy so I don't go there often. But that one forest is a rare exception to the rule. In terms of shooting inside city limits, we're pretty much exactly the same as you guys, legally.

That is retarded then, .30-06 hunting rifle is legal to discharge but not 5.56 with short barrel lol

Yep. Probably the worst part is that it applies to handguns to. So if I want to go out and blast my 30.06 M1 Garand or my SVT-40 in the woods, that's totally fine, but if I want to go shoot my G17 or SIG M17 for fun, I have to go to my local range. No handguns allowed anywhere else.

Looks pretty, slamfire is fun when it decides to work >Baikal MP220
When are coach guns not fun? Especially when you can fire both barrels at once
I have a Browning Citori 725 Sporting in 12 ga. She's real pretty and built extremely solid. From the ergonomic mechanical trigger to the balance in the hands, everything about it is luxurious and custom built for clay and bird shooting.
There's nothing wrong with them just like there's nothing wrong with commuting to work in a Honda Civic. But it's more fun and more enjoyable to drive a luxury car than an economy one. Plus, the build quality is good enough that it can easily be a multi-generation gun that performs well for decades.
Benelli Supernova. 3.5” chamber so if I really want I can load some fuck-off high-brass buck shot or brenneke slugs. The sights are great. The lifter stays out of the way after you load the first shell into the tube, so no getting your glove snagged by the lifter. It also has a magazine cutoff in case you want to do a quick ammunition changeover for a shot. You can also get a nice collapsible stock for it. It doesn’t matter for me but it has a reversible safety if you’re a leftie.
I used to have one of those. The only things I didn't like were the handguard not being swappable or capable of mounting a light, and the pistol grip inexplicably blocking the trigger guard removed which made disassembly of the gun a pain in the ass
It’s a nice stock. Smooth, just a touch of play but that doesn’t bother me. And it drops as it extends due to the angle, which is nice (for me anyway because i’m 6’4” with a big noggin) so farthest setting has my eyes right behind the sights, or if I move it forward a notch my eyes are right behind my optic with no change in head position.
Here’s the thing…the pistol grip mounts to the extension tube via a threaded collar fastener. the stock needs to be extended and the pistol grip collar needs to be unscrewed to back the pistol grip off of the rear of the receiver in order to drop the trigger and lifter assembly to remove the bolt carrier for cleaning because of how that assembly pivots down for removal. Not a huge deal, but a little bit of a pain of an extra step.
The receiver seems like polymer but it’s a steel skeleton that has been molded inside polymer. Honestly it’s probably the nicest pump on the market until/if their new “Nova Speed” comes to the US market. 870s and 590s have huge aftermarkets, but the benelli is super feature rich and so doesn’t need that kind of an aftermarket.
>heavier >no 3.5” chamber for turkey loads >no mag cutoff >can’t easily convert to a gun legal for migratory birds
Yeah, my supernova is a do-it-all gun. Clays, birds, home defense, and all-in for about half of an M4/1014. Don’t get me wrong, the m4 is a great shotgun, but i didn’t want or need something that specialized.
probably the only actual "rich fag" optic that sucks ass and actually isn't worth the price, you're paying for a name/tacticool brand. Even holochink is better than eokek, but Aimpoint mogs all.
Mine was cool, never malfunctioned, ending up selling it because I was going to college and ran out of money. I'd suggest other ppl just save up and get a 1301 or benelli m4 but this was the most solid pump I've had
Regular Nova here. >Likes
Built like a tank, god-tier barrel built by probably the best mass production shotgun maker in the world, great sights, 3.5" capable, exotic looks and a prestige brand name, good ergonomics >Dislikes
Limited and expensive aftermarket, can't change the stock and length of pull is pretty long (ok for me but I couldn't add a pad and it's too long for smaller friends I take to the range, especially girls), no good options for light mounting, no full-length mag tube from the factory, slightly rough finishing on some action parts, and very expensive replacement barrels. (Almost as much as the gun.)
Oh yeah, one more like I forgot to mention - the button on the forend that lets you eject the chambered round without feeding another from the mag tube. Great if you need to change ammo types on the fly for some reason, or return the gun to "cruiser ready" after a false alarm bump in the night without having to cycle every round through the thing and then reload.
I still have my dad's. He bought it because way back in the day he used to be good enough to shoot ambidextrously and wanted to be able to shoot waterfowl coming in from either side without shells ejecting into him.
A 60s Belgian production Auto 5, which I love because it's a classic gun and a cool mechanism, just need to get a shorter barrel for it. And an older 870 that some retard bolted a shell holder onto through the receiver before I got my hands on it (albeit for a cheap price), which I love because pumps are God's chosen longarm. And also a couple of old single shot wallhangers.
Idk if they ever made factory barrels as short as I'm looking for (18.5"), so I think I'll end up just buying a barrel of whatever size and cutting it down. Just not sure if all the barrels from the original production guns are interchangeable.
Yeah in the Auto 5 mag I just purchased, the barrels are going for as much as the gun, going to find a gunsmith to cut and finish it, it’s gonna look good with a 18.5-20in barrel, threaded for a modified choke.
I have a browning auto 5 and like it alot.
Does anyone make a modern drilling/combination gun? Would they all be some super exclusive custom made giga expensive guns?
>Mossberg 590 >Winchester 1897 >Remington Sportsman 48
People here jerk off to the 97 way too much. Single action bars suck and slamfire really isn't all that impressive.
Winchester 1897 >why
Cause it's a pretty gun, and it's the takedown model so I can quick swap between the long 28" full choke barrel I have for clays/ducks or put the 20" cyl barrel on it for defense and otherwise. It's not the only shotgun I own but it's the one I'm the most proud of.

This is my trap gun. Or was till today - charging handle somehow snapped off and the recoil spring broke. Still fires tho lol
I mean you can still find parts like that for sale but finding a replacement 12 Guage bolt with a round firing pin is tough. That's why when I take welding classes next year and git decent I want to weld that crack on the rear of the bolt. pic related my model 11
IZh 58. I love it because it's well-made, nimble and still got all the barrel chrome. The only true downside is the stock, it's one size fits nobody - to me, the length of the stock itself is fine, but the grip is too long (I've got smol hands).
1. Eastfield 916 12 gauge - It was $75 so I sawed it to 20" and nagger rigged a Mossberg pistol grip to fit.
2. Belgian damascus double barrel with hammers 12 gauge - always liked hammered double barrels. I need to ream the chambers so I can use modern ammo
>Eastfield 916 12 gauge - It was $75 so I sawed it to 20" and nagger rigged a Mossberg pistol grip to fit.
Funny, I did the same thing to my J.C. Higgins because I saw pic related on an auction site.
I have one in 20g. Got it for $160 in college and now I use it much more than my nicer shotguns because it points well& I don't care if it gets rusty or scratched
I'd recommend it. There's nothing like a beater pump gun you can drag through the mud and sull slay critters with. Did yours come with sling mounts? I've had trouble finding any that will fit in the front
I am in the same boat. Bought mine when I was broke as shit in college. Has been absolutely abused but still kicking
I've literally thrown mine into the metal bed of a truck, dropped it in mud, and left it propped up against a tree over night and much more. Rust always comes off with a little oil, and a half-assed cleaning gets enough mud out to keep the slide running real smooth. Love my chinkshit shotty like you wouldn't believe
Based, I've been considering buying a field barrel for mine so I can take it out hunting
Back then, /k/ loved it because it was a better deal than an actual Remington. It's hilarious that 870s from the era are universally avoided, where the Pardners rarely leave their first owners. Kind of missed the boat but happy to see people still keeping theirs.
Remington 870 cuz it's the only shotgun I own, but it holds 8 rounds (7+1) and is very versatile. One thing I don't like about it is the action bar lock because sometimes I forget to depress it which can be annoying when the pump doesn't go back
What's the barrel length on it? I've been wanting an 870 for a while but all the ones I've found near me have field barrels, so I've been thinking of getting one of those, getting a +3 tube extension, and getting the barrel chopped and recrowned to be flush with the tube. Either that, or getting a +1 extension, buying an 18.5 barrel, and just keeping the field barrel in case I wanna hunt with it
12 ga Remington 1100 G3. It was a gift from my mother back when I was in high school in 2006. I don't think she knew what she was buying since from what I've read it was basically a repackaged and price inflated 3" magnum version of the 11-87 when Remington was flailing around trying to make a profit, but it's been nothing but reliable to me. Most of the time it serves as my turkey gun, I just use the standard full choke tube that came with the gun, I've looked at the $60+ super duper full extendo choke tubes with ports whatnot, but I figure if I can't call a turkey to within 40 yards of a good shot with my current choke tube, I suck at turkey hunting. Most of my heartburn caused from turkey hunting isn't toms strutting out of range, but them walking up from behind me to where I can't move to get a shot without spooking them. I'm still looking for a woman competent enough to sit on the other side of the tree from me for when that happens.

An M7 bayonet will fit if you know how to use a dremmel.

Here's the area where all the filing will be, for the most part.
You just have to make that area thinner on both sides so that it fits past the flanges of the shotgun's bayonet lug.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to work.
It would be very easy to fuck this up, so make sure you don't go completely through the metal, just make it thinner.

One of the first firearms I have bought. 80s production with blonde corncob forend and matching stock. Combined with a 28.5" barrel that I sourced subsequently it can do pretty much everything that I would realistically need a shotgun to do. It has been completely reliable and ergonomics are excellent. I particularly appreciate the flush folding elevator which allows for easy access to the magazine tube. >H&R Topper 20ga
Got it for very cheap, but it's an incredibly lightweight and fun little thing. Somebody tiger striped the wood with a butane lighter which I think looks pretty nice. 20ga allows for at least somewhat controllable recoil for it's light weight, it points incredibly well, it has sling loops and I especially lucked out getting one with an ejector. Launching spent hulls over my shoulder is pure fun. >Charles Daly 601 DPS
I had wanted a Benelli M4 for ages but could never justify the price. For this reason I was excited when the patent ran out and Turkish companies started making direct parts interchangeable copies, which the 601 DPS mostly does. It's not 100% just as good as a genuine Benelli, but it is 1/4 of the price and I must have gotten one made on a Wednesday because it has been perfect. It has held up for years and thousands of rounds so far, with no signs of quitting any time soon. >Citadel Warthog II
Another Turkish shotgun that I got for $70 from a guy about to dump it at the police station. He got it during the pandemic, never shot it and decided he didn't want it anymore.
I had low hopes since this model has a poor reputation and is basically junk, but it does run surprisingly well. A lot of pins and screws do work loose from recoil, but the fact that it has gone through hundreds of rounds with few malfunctions is a miracle. It is absolutely redundant and practically worthless to me never the less, but I wouldn't miss it if it got seized as evidence.
>Charled Daly 601 DPS
See, I'm glad I'm not the only person whose 601 runs like a top. I have hundreds of rounds down mine and no issues. The internals even still look good.

I saw your post earlier. Those defenders are hard to come by and you will likely regret selling one day. The weak point that people bitch about is the plastic piece the mag tube presses into. Personally, I've seen some beat to shit defenders and that plastic piece was fine. So, I think it's a non-issue but anons have sperg'd out about it. I guess that's the risk and that replacement parts are harder to come by each year. Such is life owning an old out production gun. The design though, is fantastic and they're increasingly rare. I would keep it but I would not subject it to heavy use on a regular basis.

I put an extended tube on mine, 15 alternating slug and buck mini-shells with no need for that retarded OPsol clip.. Love that fucker.
I saw your post and I'm inclined to agree on all points except I have had very mixed results feeding mini shells. They tend to go all wabberjacky on me. I have like 30 of them left in an ammo box where I gave up trying to use them.
Of course, that's why Miculek runs a Mossberg 940 and well-known shotgun instructors say that that the modern Beretta shotguns go toe-to-toe with the M4 under heavy use in classes. They just like unreliable shotguns.
>running a shotgun with a single ammo you buy 100,000 shells at a time and have tuned the gun to >is the same as a combat shotgun that will run everything from federal breast cancer boxes to high brass magnum buckshot while cold/dirty/wet/sandy
Fuck outta here
Nice try with that shit, but I obviously didn't say the 940 is exactly equivalent to the M4. Did you mean that the A5 is "the same" as the M4? Obviously fucking not.
The 940 is reliable enough for the top competition shooter in the USA to regularly compete with and put his name on. Saying the A5 and M4 are the only reliable semi-autos is retarded
>Tell me what shotgun you have and why you like it.
If you need anything more than a single shot break action, you're a bad shot. The government should make those man killers, you have, illegal. You don't even need a gun to hunt. You could use a bow and arrow or just set traps.
Stoeger Condor competition, I love sporting clays. Yeah yeah Stoeger sucks, but it's the gun I could afford at the time and now that I can afford better, well this one hasn't let me down yet. There's this defiant appeal to it. Going out there and just ass blasting shooters with better guns. I'll probably get a browning in the near future, but my Stoeger will forever hold a place in my heart.
Saiga 12 from 2012 or so. It's lighter than the Vepr 12, points better, and I like the rock&lock mags. 8 rounders fit in 308 taco mag pouches pretty well.
Mossberg 500.
I bought it at 19 for $300. All I had to to get the 5 round tube running was jiggle the dowel in the magazine out. It shoots clays fine.
I wish I would’ve gotten a 590 for an extra $100.
My Ithaca is probably my favorite, it's a later model without slamfire but the slamefire is achievable with just a hammer replacement. If I could fucking find one.
I got a question for any Ithaca owners, do you think it is better to get a 20 inch barrel or the 18.5 inch barrel? I just want to buy my old man one since he used on in the military.
Left to right top and bottom >Ithaca 37 featherlite >Remington Model 11 (Auto 5 Clone) >Remington Model 10 (old fucking shotgun, mines from the 1920s) >Remington 870 Wingmaster (90s production with replacement stock set) >H&R 10GA Single Shot >This is actually a vintage Cobray 37mm flare launcher I got for shits and giggles
All I have is a Maverick 88, but it has been proven to be a somewhat reliable shotgun, I had issues with saline buildup on the choke tube but that issue is past me.
Anywho my list of shotguns to buy is: >Mossberg 590 Mariner >Mossberg 590A1 >Mossberg 500 retro >Benelli Nova >Benelli M4 >Stoeger SxS for Doom LARP >Maybe a good condition Winchester 1897 >KSG, maybe?
The 590 Mariner is on the top 5 most wanted guns and I think I might as well bite the bullet and buy one for christmas this year before retards panic buy again next year because of Election season
I have a 18" Remington Spartan/Bakial 12ga SXS which i love. Also have a old ass Ted Williams Sears/Roebuck single shot 12ga i got for 20 bucks for a coworker- probably stolen.
The barrel was so rusty and pitted i had to cut it down to a coach shotgun. When i got it the barrel so rusty and pitted i was suprised it didnt blow up when i shot it.
I've had a few. An old 870 can't be beat for smoothness and build quality, but any Mossberg 500/88/590 is always a good choice.
Double barrels aren't just a meme, they're really fun to hit clays. Anything derived from the Savage 311 is a good gun, you just can't ever take it apart because nobody under the age of 65 knows how it goes back together.
You can go for extra meme points and get an Ithaca 37 or Remington model 10/11, because bottom ejecting guns are cool.
If you have the money for a Saiga 12, it's a fun gun to own. If you can only afford the modern chinese copies, hard pass.
I have an old 870 Sport Magnum with a modified barrel, it keeps a pretty tight group out to 25yds with both 00 buck and #8. I had a hard time buying shotguns in the last few years because most of the new tactical stuff is cylinder bore, and good interchangeable chokes are hard to find, unless you buy them from someone like PatternMaster. Hate to say it but as far as I can tell, the fuddlore is correct--old, dedicated-choke barrels seem to hold better patterns than the interchangeable ones.
They don't let you use pumps elsewhere? Ranges don't really give a shit what you use around here as long as it isn't a safety hazard. Go nuts with an 18.5" barrel cylinder bore maverick 88 for all they care.
What is the final verdict on the turkshit benelli m4 clones? I know they are turkshit, but how many rounds until they detonate? Are they even semi-reliable?
there's one in Australia that's legal on a normal licence that's super reliable. if it's the same one, then yeah its sold. the Turkish clones are generally good but the Turkish originals are rubbish.
Thank you, the 16 was my pappys rabbit gun and a few years ago I bought the 12 for $100 off a person who was anti-fun and their dad had left it to them. Both have a really smooth action and are only a few years apart serial number wise.
Remington 870 tactical 18.5" with a bead because nobody was covering when the training requirement and waiting period in WA would start and I wanted to get one last gun but it turns out it isnt until next year.
I cant decide if im gonna run a high tube or a Urbino stock. Fuck the ones with an AR grip at the wrong angle.
Browning Bt99 12 gauge. It’s fun for clays, and it was my dads, so its neat to think about all the fun he had with it. Can’t wait till my kids are older and they try it out. My brother in Ohio has the leather fur lined case for it. Keep meaning to bug him to ship that out. It’s classy as hell.
>when are we going to see some semiauto trade-ins?
It's getting more and more unlikely that police departments will sell off their stuff. Especially semi autos
Tbh the beretta 1301 is already pretty cheap at $1400 or so msrp and the benelli m4 is pretty outdated
I'm not sure it would be very impactful
I have never heard of PDs issuing benelli M4s to the average street cop either
Currently the only shotgun I own is a Rustington 870, and it's a massive piece of shit. Though it does function. I had owned a bunch of older 870s, cut down Wingmasters, Police Magnums, etc and they were generally my favorites. At some point I ended up buying a new one for a decent price, and assuming it was just as good as all the others I had owned I didn't even bother to open the box for about a month. When I did I realized the finish was this caked on garbage, the action felt and sounded like opening a rusty screen door, and those stupid fucking magazine dimples meant no extension without drilling holes in the fucking thing. I refuse to sell it because I won't inflict that garbage on someone else, so it sits beside my bed collecting dust.
One of these days i'll find another Winchester Model 12 for a decent price and beat the Remington against a tree until I feel better.
is this the shotgun thread?
my follower always gets stuck in the receiver after the very last last shell
im talking catastrophic failure, i need to bang it with a hammer to un-jam it, impossible to do it by hand or by just reloading
the follower is plastic, would it help to get an aluminium follower or is my shit just fucked?
Used to own a 590a1. Sold it to a friend who was going to pay me over time.
He was slow to pay, difficult to keep in touch with. Last time I saw him, he told me he was moving to Seattle "but would take down my info so he could keep paying me" and I said "naw dude, just forget about it."
>Sold it to a friend who was going to pay me over time.
Dude, this is a no brainer at this point. You should know better than this. >Yeah, bro, don't worry, I pay you $50 a month over the course of a year!
Nah, fuck off. After running after the cash, I'll never even see half of that money.
You give me the full amount now, you get the item.
NO exceptions, not for friends or family, NO ONE.
I'm including ones I've since sold because some of them are really good. >Benelli M3
Really smooth shooting, never had any reliability issues. Some people report issues, I never had any. >Benelli M4
Complete opposite experience of the M3, tons of issues, wouldn't cycle anything besides the highest pressure brass. Probably a lemon. >Benelli Nova/Supernova
My favorite pump shotgun that isn't in the $1200 range. Lots of nice quality of life features, robust, supernova can actually take aftermarket stocks and swap them for the ones on the M3 for example. 3.5" is nice if you ever want to go hunting for certain game like turkey. Improved lifter design that just works. Only con is that it's ugly and looks like turkshit (even though they came first). >Fabarm STF-12
Smoothest pump action I've felt in my life, beautiful gun overall, robust, but way overpriced my God. At the price point just buy a 1301. >Remington 870 Wingmaster
Old and good, not much to say. Action is smooth, glossy finish is beautiful, never had a hiccup. Makes my experience with newer Remingtons pale in comparison. >Mossberg 590A1
Yeah. >Winchester 1300/FN Police Shotgun
Smooth, can cycle mini shells, still pretty robust. Shame the new ones are made with a random smattering of parts from around the globe. >Mossberg 500
Mine liked to lock up randomly it was so sloppy. >Stevens 520
Funny slamfire, really funky looking. >Remington 11
Mine was super early production and really robust even though it was missing some small parts at the time. Recoil impulse is unique.
I've owned more but those are the relevant production/easily attainable ones.
Any opinions on vertical front grips on shotguns? I almost never see them, so I assume they aren't too popular, but I could imagine they could make pumping easier/more ergonomic.
They don’t, they make them more awkward and are only useful on extremely short shotguns like Serbu Super Shorties or KSGs, for traditional rifle stocks it makes it more awkward, doesn’t make me want a dual pistol grip Mossberg 500 with a heat shield any less though.
im eying a browing auto 5 but the stupid cops are anti guns panzie, never done anything illigal yet they dont want to give me the permit i should have because they are so fucking lazy.
From top to bottom >Ithaca 37 with a choate side folding stock
Got it for slam firing fun and thought the side folder on it was really cool. I generally love Ithaca for how smooth their actions are >Ithaca Model 87
Was a Ducks Unlimited edition that came with a second rifled barrel and a set of chokes. Very smooth shooting shotgun, even if it can't slam fire. It's a great game gun. Also my favorite to take to trap and skeet >HS-10B
I don't really like it, but I have it more as a collector's piece because of how oddball it is. I blame playing CoD Black Ops for driving me to throw money towards it when I shouldn't have. The Kel-lite however is neat and still works >spas-12
Besides the weight and cost, I just love everything about it. Yeah, I can only run high brass through it, but it's been surprisingly reliable to me. It's the gun I've wanted since I was a young kid. Jurassic Park and FEAR instilled a deep love for it in me
There's a FN P12 for sale at my lgs right now. I don't need another gun, but I'm intrigued just because it's a modern discontinued gun.
How's it perform compared to other shottys?
Is it the US made P12 or Portuguese? If the latter, don't bother unless its dirt cheap. If the former, it's a nicer Winchester 1300. How much are they asking?
Mossberg 500AL, bought it for cheap and felt good after I took it apart and cleaned it. It looked like the last time anyone had taken it apart was the 90s.
Really like not a single over under? Smh. A 350 condor over under pays for itself in like two range trips with how much entertainment you get shooting clay pigeons.
An H&R Pardner Pump and TriStar Raptor. Bad and I don't like them. However I shoot shotguns so rarely the somewhat existent build quality just isn't a factor
>Winchester Model 12
Is capable of slam firing. Has 30in barrel but I plan on cutting it to 20in >Cooey 840 (20 Gauge)
Neat little single shot break action. My go to gun for game birds. Bought it because FO:NV made me like 20 gauge single shots >Thalman Suhl 125 SxS
Interesting piece of cold war history coming out of East Germany. Both barrel has different chokes which I like for duck hunting
I've got an fn auto-5 much like pic related except with a pachmmayer buttpad, and polychoke put on it. Points well and is a fun action to shoot, with the only 5 shots i put through it
Can't *really* shoot it though because gay European 16 gauge is 5mm shorter than American 16 gauge.
Thinking about sending the barrel down to Briley in Texas and having the chamber reamed an extra 5mm, but im gonna consult my gunsmith because i heard theres more to it than that, in the conversion of a 16 gauge auto 5 from 2 9/16th inch length shells to 2 3/4 inch.
I hope to trap shoot every week with it eventually.
>much like pic related
This is the pic in question btw, I forgot it because I'm retarded. Like how I bought an auto-5 without knowing exactly what is was chambered in...... (16 ga 2 and 9/16 as opposed to what I WANTED 16ga 2 and 3/4)
A part of me wants to keep my Remington 870 Wingmaster with wood furniture the way it is, a simple and classic look. The other wants to >Put a M4-stylr folding stock on it >Add a top rail with an optic >Replace the front hand guard with a tri-rail >Put an angled foregrip and a flashlight on it >Add a mean looking muzzle break
>what shotgun
Winchester model 12 featherweight with a polychoke >why
$250 for the cousin of the beloved trench gun was too good to pass on. Polychoke is ugly but I'm willing to accept it for a 99 year old gun at that price.
Are CZ O/U guns (and I guess all Turkshit by extension) really that bad? I don't need a fancy ass gun, I just want a clays gun that I don't have to take care of. I can get a fancy italian gun some other time if I want to flex on the boomers at the club.
Here's something you don't see everyday. Law Enforcement special M4 where instead of 2 ports, it has 4 ports so it can be used to with low power shells. It's otherwise identical to a regular M4.
Remington Versamax solved this issue of course with its variable depending on shell length porting, which is a direct improvement on M4's argo system, but unfortunately it was Remington-made. The guy who did argo went and did it for remington, then patented it for remington, might explain why benelli or beretta don't use argo system in any other shotgun (they do use it in rifles though but it's different).
I have an old Auto 5 that I rescued from the back room of shit-they've-had-for-ages at my local store. Pretty much devoid of finish. Barrel doesn't match receiver.
Shoots good, after I paid a stock guy to fix the stock by putting in a brass bushing, its a common fault. I just think the long recoil action is neat and I felt bad for the old girl just sitting unloved and unused in some store room.
Anyone got an idea on how much I could expect to pay to have a local gun smith thread a fixed cylinder 1301 for threaded chokes and replace the front sight with a bead?
I think the same thing, it'd be a waterfowl monster and there's no reason you couldn't wingshoot with the front sight but a bead is just preferable and you'd still have the option for a red dot. With an extended choke you could easily reach 20" or 24" barrel minimums at skeet/clays clubs then just throw a CL/IC in when you're at the house.
Really I just want the 1301 comp but in an 18.5" barrel with the 7 shot monotube of the LE model.
My stepmom isn't really into guns but tries to be supportive. She showed me a Panzer Arms 12 gauge...thing (I think pic related) on PSA's site for $320. How do I explain it's not great and not something I'm interested in without sounding rude?
Tell her straight up that it's really cool (let her feelthat she did a generaly good job), but they have some QC issues and if it breaks they're extremely hard to get fixed because overseas production (something she couldn't have known, not her fault)
>My stepmom isn't really into guns but tries to be supportive. She showed me a Panzer Arms 12 gauge...thing (I think pic related) on PSA's site for $320
Wholesome dubs, anon. My mother is the same way. She couldn't care less about guns personally, but has always been 100% supportive of my being a gun owner my whole life. I'm into my 30's now, and she still buys my annual range membership for Christmas every year
My only shotgun is a maverick 88. I bought it for bear defense. Nothing special about it, it just werks.
It is the lightest long gun I own, which is nice. Very comfy and easy to shoot.
police surplus Wingmaster from before I was born
it satisfies my "need" to possess a shotgun and it has SOVL out the ass—it's got scratches and cracks everywhere, rack numbers paint penned on it, it's got a weirdly smooth spot on the grip where checkering probably used to be, etc.
A good one.
Mossberg 360 (and walk away...)
Wouldn’t you be looking down the barrel of the gun of you did that?
It's a suicide you dip!
Not if you moonwalk
>1301
Super lightweight, easy to swap between tactical configuration and innawoods/hunting configuration
>M590A1
Built like a tank, military grade, high capacity
>Boito Hiker
Meme
>A300 Ultima
Semi-auto for hunting, same controls as 1301
>M500
Sentimental, shot my first ducks with it
Canadian?
Yeah, unfortunately
How are canadian laws for semi auto shotties? Can you still do 7+1 on the 1301? Just no collapsible stock and pistol grip I assume?
>No handguns allowed anywhere else.
*Not allowed to take them anywhere else, I mean. It's not like they have to stay at the range
Are you the guy who recommended the light/sling loop for the 1301?
>Stevens 520
Looks pretty, slamfire is fun when it decides to work
>Baikal MP220
When are coach guns not fun? Especially when you can fire both barrels at once
I have a Browning Citori 725 Sporting in 12 ga. She's real pretty and built extremely solid. From the ergonomic mechanical trigger to the balance in the hands, everything about it is luxurious and custom built for clay and bird shooting.
Hell yeah, Browning Clitoris
>3k to shoot at fake orange discs
whats wrong with a remington or mossy
Some people just want nice things
Is the adjustable stock wurth? This is my ideal shotgun but upcharge on the le edition is a bitch.
Close but you missed bro
>heavier
>no 3.5” chamber for turkey loads
>no mag cutoff
>can’t easily convert to a gun legal for migratory birds
Yeah, my supernova is a do-it-all gun. Clays, birds, home defense, and all-in for about half of an M4/1014. Don’t get me wrong, the m4 is a great shotgun, but i didn’t want or need something that specialized.
Mag cutoff is built into the operating system. Cope harder poorfag, your filthy hands will never know what a real weapon feels like.
>Heaviest shotgun
>Add heaviest optic
Why do you do this to yourself
>eokek
probably the only actual "rich fag" optic that sucks ass and actually isn't worth the price, you're paying for a name/tacticool brand.
>Likes
Built like a tank, god-tier barrel built by probably the best mass production shotgun maker in the world, great sights, 3.5" capable, exotic looks and a prestige brand name, good ergonomics
>Dislikes
Limited and expensive aftermarket, can't change the stock and length of pull is pretty long (ok for me but I couldn't add a pad and it's too long for smaller friends I take to the range, especially girls), no good options for light mounting, no full-length mag tube from the factory, slightly rough finishing on some action parts, and very expensive replacement barrels. (Almost as much as the gun.)
Oh yeah, one more like I forgot to mention - the button on the forend that lets you eject the chambered round without feeding another from the mag tube. Great if you need to change ammo types on the fly for some reason, or return the gun to "cruiser ready" after a false alarm bump in the night without having to cycle every round through the thing and then reload.
browning bps pump shotgun
it ejects downward and not into my face because I'm wronghanded
these are cool ive considered getting one but its 4th or 5th on my purchase list
I still have my dad's. He bought it because way back in the day he used to be good enough to shoot ambidextrously and wanted to be able to shoot waterfowl coming in from either side without shells ejecting into him.
I just like them.
>A 60s Belgian production Auto 5, which I love because it's a classic gun and a cool mechanism, just need to get a shorter barrel for it.
Post here if you find some, I just acquired one and that was the first thing I want to do, 30in is way too long.
>Mossberg 590
>Winchester 1897
>Remington Sportsman 48
People here jerk off to the 97 way too much. Single action bars suck and slamfire really isn't all that impressive.
Then sell your 1897 if you hate it so much, homosexual. Let someone else live the dream since you're old and crusty with your feelings
Winchester 1897
>why
Cause it's a pretty gun, and it's the takedown model so I can quick swap between the long 28" full choke barrel I have for clays/ducks or put the 20" cyl barrel on it for defense and otherwise. It's not the only shotgun I own but it's the one I'm the most proud of.
/k/ shotgun thread, at least 4 different 97's and a few other cool shotguns. /k/ wasn't entirely shitty today.
...and you. You win but what the fuck did you do to the stock of that 97'?
[
bubba's handmade sleeve]
gross, I wonder if the stock is cracked under it or something.
>Ithica 37
Slam fire is cool and I like how it sends empty shells flying.
>Remington model 11
My first shotgun but I only shot it once and the bolts cracked so it in my closet until I get it fixed. I do want another shotgun for home defense and shit like a super nova or Mossberg 590.
>mfw those are my favorite shotguns
I love them both even if my model 11 is a worn out whore.
I mean you can still find parts like that for sale but finding a replacement 12 Guage bolt with a round firing pin is tough. That's why when I take welding classes next year and git decent I want to weld that crack on the rear of the bolt. pic related my model 11
>Remington model 11
This is my trap gun. Or was till today - charging handle somehow snapped off and the recoil spring broke. Still fires tho lol
>Ithica 37 sends empty shells flying
don't they eject from the bottom?
It sends shells flying into the dirt i guess
yeah, makes him sound like a retard
well yes but if you tilt the gun on its side it does indeed send the shells flying. It just ejects them hard is all Im saying.
IZh 58. I love it because it's well-made, nimble and still got all the barrel chrome. The only true downside is the stock, it's one size fits nobody - to me, the length of the stock itself is fine, but the grip is too long (I've got smol hands).
>the stock, it's one size fits nobody
It's designed for starving soviet potato farmers
Can't say that starving people grow with palms wide as a shovel. At the same time my dad was perfectly fine with the stock.
IZh-58 comrad!
>and why you like it
I like it because it’s the shotgun I have.
An ex-police remington 870 wingmaster with a cylinder barrel, because it was my dad's.
I like it for the memes, I like that it was a gift, I like the sights and I like ringing steel offhand from 100 yards with cheap herters slugs.
H&R Pardner pump 12 gauge
There's nothing really special about it, but it was my first gun and it's what I learned how to shoot shotguns with
I have one in 20g. Got it for $160 in college and now I use it much more than my nicer shotguns because it points well& I don't care if it gets rusty or scratched
Based, I've been considering buying a field barrel for mine so I can take it out hunting
I'd recommend it. There's nothing like a beater pump gun you can drag through the mud and sull slay critters with. Did yours come with sling mounts? I've had trouble finding any that will fit in the front
>Did yours come with sling mounts?
Came with some swivel studs I could attach the mounts to, but you'd still need to get the mounts
I am in the same boat. Bought mine when I was broke as shit in college. Has been absolutely abused but still kicking
Back then, /k/ loved it because it was a better deal than an actual Remington. It's hilarious that 870s from the era are universally avoided, where the Pardners rarely leave their first owners. Kind of missed the boat but happy to see people still keeping theirs.
stoeger SxS 28 in barrel uplander. Because its what elmer fudd had and above my mantle.
Either that, or getting a +1 extension, buying an 18.5 barrel, and just keeping the field barrel in case I wanna hunt with it
18.5 inches, it came with the extended tube when I bought it
1301
>doesnt weigh anything
>looks good
>recoil is ok
Mossberg 500 (soon to be illegal in IL according to newly passed laws on modifiable magazines/tubes) bedside problem solver.
Baikal MP-18 just in case.
> Mossberg 500 (soon to be illegal in IL according to newly passed laws on modifiable magazines/tubes
Canadian tier bullshitery.
>Canadian tier bullshitery.
Oh it gets better, If you built or bought a star wars movie light saber from the original parts without a foid card you can be convicted of a felony after January 1st 2024. There is no exemption to the law they put in effect here in IL.
And you have to register all those parts on the state police website before that time if you do have a FOID card. If you are a felon they will confiscate the lightsaber.
Kek may the force be with you guys.
From what I read the activist judge in this is going against pre-existing precedence and uses his own past ruling that were stuck down to push this shit through.
I wonder if these knob gobbling lawyers, judges, and special interest groups realize that every failed attempt at gun control in the courts only reinforces gun rights in the legal system?
Just waiting for the day when NFA related stuff is put through the ringer.
They can just pass it again, u have to fight it in courts again, meanwhile cucks turned in their guns and new guns weren't sold
Mossberg 500 because it was inexpensive and available with a good aftermarket and I wanted to hunt squirrels.
It's good with anything not reduced recoil
definitely need a more practical shotgun, or at least another 1897 model that isn't like a hundred years old. Shotguns are kinda low-priority since other guns I want are currently on the state's chopping block
I feel like i have my bases covered.
Winchester 101
Mossberg 500 with long and short barrels
Stoeger coach
I am interested in a browning auto 5. I might get one at some point.
What make is the 87? Is it a winchester, chiappa, or century? I used to have a century but it was a dumpster fire of a gun.
century/delicious chineseium. finicky when extracting, unfriendly to load, feels cheap as hell. still love it as a range toy
That spas 12 is sweet
sex
What's that lingerie you have on the 1897? Leather corset?
Did you make that?
no clue, got it like that used. if it's some old bubba's handmade sleeve then it's damn good, very comfortable to use
I admit it's a sexy collection (as are most of my guns) but I can really use a beater/workhorse shotgun I'm not afraid to put through pain
winchester model 1912 because I got it fore free ( stock was broken at the wrist) i fixed it with jb weld ( cheaper than a new stock) one day I will buy a new stock but since the gun has about 25% left of the blue It would look right (old gun new stock) so I woukld like to refinish it ( need to buy bluing salts)
870 Wingmaster. My first shotgun, dad gave it to me as a housewarming present when I first moved moved out to my own place.
11-87 Trap. Beautiful gun, points very naturally, softest recoil of any 12ga I've ever shot. My wife usually uses it when we shoot trap together.
Franchi Instinct. My trap and wingshooting gun. Has killed many clays and doves, as well as a coyote.
Tac-14. Range toy, birthday present from wy wife a few years back. Lots of fun, threw a brace on it and it's really handy to shoot. One of my home defense guns.
Tokarav BP12. It's garbage, but it's cool looking garbage. Impulse bought it the other day when I was bored and PSA had it on clearance for $200. Probably going to sell it at the next gunshow, might keep it, not sure.
>Tell me what shotgun you have
Mav88
>and why you like it.
Inexpensive
Not turk junk
Fairly well made

Stoger P3000
>Why?
250 bucks
>Why do I like it?
Pretty basic, but it hasnt jammed on me once
Heavily modified KS7 with side saddle, choke tube, and pic rail so I can actually use a red dot to adjust its god awful factory sights.
Kicks like a mule but as a compact package with 7 shells it's hard to beat.
>3 bolt on accessories
So what part of the gun is heavily modified?
590a1, can put knife on it.
Mah Black
Sometimes I wish I bought the 20" for the bayonet lug. My 18.5 has been holding it down though
Based and bayonet-pilled.
i thought about getting a bayonet lug, but the only availabe ones are for the m9 bayonet, and that piece of shit is way too heavy for what its worth
An M7 bayonet will fit if you know how to use a dremmel.
The socket for the M7 is just a hair too narrow, so carefully widen it with the tool, testing it every so often until it fits.
I did this with a replica M7 I got from BudK.
Damn, I might just do that.
>M9: 810 grams
>M7: 270 grams
Alright. Step-by-step.
>Step 1.
Here is the M7 I got.
It's a repro made in bugland I got from BudK (same place I got the flag) but it has a 9" blade, so I won't complain.
>Step 2
Here be the socket.
You'll need to pay attention while you file away, because the grips/clamps/whatever the fuck they're called need to stay on the other side of a very thin piece of metal.
Occasionally stop filing to test it.
You've got it wide enough when you don't have to force it to go on.
Don't try to cram it on or you might not be able to get it off.
The only downside is that a bayonet forges the use of the production sling mount.
I'm sure some doodad or another exists that'll let me use both, but I just haven't found it yet.
I kneel.
I'm actually gonna do it, thanks my man.
You're welcome.
Happy bayonetting.
Beretta 1301 LTT, multiple remington 870s, multiple maverick 88s, mossberg shockwave form 1ed to sbs, a savage 220, and an old H&R made prior to serial numbers which I told was my grandpa's.
My favs are my grandpa's gun for shooting clays, beretta 1301 for shooting uninvited visitors, and savage 220 for shooting deer.
>Norinco Hawk 982
Because the chinese engineer in BF2 had one, and it’s just a heavier milled 870. It’s yet to fail me
Browning Recoilless.
Because it's cool as fuck.
>1897 20" barrel
German and jap repellant. Looks fucking great.
>Auto 5
For dealing with uppity flappers. Also looks fucking great
>Benelli m1014
Used it in the corps. If I couldn't kill mine clearing ships, it'll never fail you.
>Fabarm Martial 24"
My shotgun allowed for hunting purpose and clay ; italian-tier quality, slightly rifled (dumb local laws), rugged, well finished and easily available in my country
>Winchester 1300 Defender with marine finish, hogue furnitures and magazine extension
Bought during COVID, neat gun, very aesthetic, but it was a mistake and i'm going to sell it back probably
>Winchester 1300 Defender classic with full size magazine
Bought during COVID, neat gun, but it was a mistake and i'm going to sell it back surely
Overall I should have waited a little longer with my Fabarm and buy Mossberg or old Remington now prices have crashed.
>trigger locks.
Children security. But I admit I kept the locks to add a little color touch to my picture, yeah.
> 90's 11-87 special purpose
It's the shitty remington cost cutting one without the gas vents or spring so it can't run anything under 1250fps
I want a proper barrel but they're $380
> 110 year old Rem Model 11
Auto 5 clone I was gifted and I love to death. Points great and absolutely slays clays. New friction ring and spring but the recoil spring is original and going strong
I found every hunting license of the original owner from the 1920s until WWii in the stock when I was cleaning it and it made it my favorite shotgun
> 870 Wingmaster in a police top folder
Picked it up at a pawn shop for $350, sweet gun but it mostly just sits pretty on my shelf
> 870 police magnum
SBS project I'm cutting to 13" and back-boring after work is over this December
> 1897 trench chink clone
It's just fun, everyone loves it, had to TIG the pump stop ring back onto the mag tube because I sent er' a bit hard once slam-firing though
> Mossy 500 (AS? AP? some weird cop model with long mag and rifle sights)
Found it for $135 in a pawn shop with an old leather 1907 style sling and couldn't say no
> SDS S4 Turk-nelli M4 clone
It's a turk Benelli M4 knockoff, and it fucking rocks. Fight me.
I checked the pistons with Rockwell files and they were properly hardened, the whole gun has been fine, cycles 1145fps bird shot an 3" slugs
I tore it completely down and put it back together with locktite when I bought it
Some of the others
Last two
The 870 police has been slicked up so glass smooth while I wait idly to SBS it that just hitting the pump latch while holding it vertical and shaking it will eject a shell
Benerlol m4
my brothers
I cant believe they banned the spas12 in cuckistan but the m4 is nr (aka you can hunt with it and ezpz to get)
you can do whatever the fuck you want up here as long as you dont sbr it and not register it, and go above 5 rounds. (jb weld is acceptable) and five round limit wont stop me from mastering speedloading drills, also once we finally get trudy out shits going to get better ((fifty)two more weeks!)
I won't lie I am somewhat jealous
>Baikal 410 single shot
My first gun
>Stoeger Coach Gun
It was my grandpa’s
>870 Wingmaster
It’s okay, I’d like to have it refurbished
>14” 870 Police Magnum
I don’t really like it or use it
I’d like a nicer side by side and a Benelli M2
An old friend, I couldn't stand to be apart from her, so I got my own. I also have a mossberg shockwave and some turkish double bareel because it was on sale.
I've got a couple.
>Mossberg 500A
One of the first firearms I have bought.
New production =
Mossberg, 590a1 being my favorite. It's the most rugged, military issue and has good features.
Stoeger Double Defense because it's cool.
Old production =
Winchester 1897, should be obvious
Winchester 1912, should be obvious
Winchester Defender (USA made), Smoothest action, larger capacity, lightweight and the AR-15 style rotating bolt just works.
Honorable mention
Winchester 120 Ranger, same as above
Winchester 1300, same as above
I own, an 1897, 1912 and 2 1300's.
I do not like Remington, because even though they were the gold standard police issue shotgun in the 70's, everyone I know that has bought one in the last 20 years has had problems and I've just never fell in love with them.
I do not like the new Turkish made Winchester's because they're not as smooth and they're made in Turkey, where garbage comes from.
Picture
>I do not like the new Turkish made Winchester's because they're not as smooth and they're made in Turkey, where garbage comes from.
I was so ecstatic to see that CZ released a pump shotgun.
I was then devastated to learn it was turkshit
>Winchester 1300, same as above / and 2 1300's.
Could you convince me not to sell my own two Winchester Defender 1300 ? See
I feel Mossys and Wingmasters are better.
I would keep it but I would not subject it to heavy use on a regular basis.
>mossy
Their semi-autos are junk. People have lots of problems with them but the 590a1 is arguably the best pump you can get. The downside is that it's heavy, heavy and expensive.
>Wingmaster
If you can find a 1970's one in good shape, go for it. Otherwise avoid. I'm not joking, everyone I know that's bought one has had issues. Even in this thread people are complaining,
for example. Remington didn't go out of business because they were too good.
You know Im talking about a Model 11 that was made in the 30's not a 870.
>Winchester 1300 Ranger
Based and chkd.
Lol vepr molot 12 , rem 1100, moss 500 shorty, chink copy of a saiga.
I have that chink saiga too.
Is the chink saiga worth it? I want 12 guage AK shotgun so thinking of buying one when I get permit if I actually fill one out.
It's built cheap in most places, but with the gas settings you can run just about anything through it.
Are there any semi auto shotguns that aren't garbage?
Semi-auto shotguns are about the only time I would ever recommend anything Italian.
The Auto 5 and the M4 are the only reliable ones ever made
Of course, that's why Miculek runs a Mossberg 940 and well-known shotgun instructors say that that the modern Beretta shotguns go toe-to-toe with the M4 under heavy use in classes. They just like unreliable shotguns.
>running a shotgun with a single ammo you buy 100,000 shells at a time and have tuned the gun to
>is the same as a combat shotgun that will run everything from federal breast cancer boxes to high brass magnum buckshot while cold/dirty/wet/sandy
Benelli M4, M3, M2, Vinci, Super Black Eagle, Beretta 1301, TX4, 1201FP, Breda B12i, Fabarm L4S,
Italian semi auto shotguns are amazing.
Benelli Lupo, Beretta BRX-1, Sabatti Rover, Sabatti Sapphire, Fabarm Iris, Antonio Zoli Evolution, Franchi Momentum.
italian bolt guns are superb too.
Mossbeg 500: My first firearms purchase and a pretty good purchase. I love it.
Mossberg 590: Cool bayonet lug. I got a reproduction M7 bayonet with a 9 inch blade to go with it. Possibly my "Go-To-War" choice.
Hatfield single shot: 100 burger bucks for a shotgun that I can almost treat as being expendable.
In general, I love shotguns.
They are versatile, reliable and powerful.
Shorter than my foreleg, double the average capacity of standard shotguns, and badass
>30 shells strapped to the gun
I can't tell if this is a shitpost or not, lel
590A1. Wanted a reliable shotgun that's built like a tank and it is exactly that.
>built like a tank
Then ruined it with butt ugly magpul furniture
I like it
Its very comfy but people dont buy it much because theyre cheapass sour grapes people
Magpul furniture is more practical, simple as. Can't mount a light to the ribbed dildo forend.
>wood = sovl
>plastic = sovlless
Simple as
So do I have a half soul or something?
Half SOVL
>Tell me what shotgun you have and why you like it.
If you need anything more than a single shot break action, you're a bad shot. The government should make those man killers, you have, illegal. You don't even need a gun to hunt. You could use a bow and arrow or just set traps.
sure, as long as its 2 or 4 gauge.
I kind of hate that maverick 88 lol
Forgot pick, like my custom maverick stock?
Remington 1889s, one 32" choked for bird hunting and one 20" coach gun for cowboy action. Solid reliable classic sxs
Saiga 12 from 2012 or so. It's lighter than the Vepr 12, points better, and I like the rock&lock mags. 8 rounders fit in 308 taco mag pouches pretty well.
Mossberg 500, it just works, even when rusted to shit
That porting is cool, I don't think I've ever seen that on a field gun
TX3 which is essentially a 870 but built by Tokarev. I got it because they were selling guns intended for the Afghanistan National Police.
20" all the way, classic riot shotgun.
could you list the names and models of these?
1 through 5 look nice, but I am new so I have no clue what I am looking at
Left to right top and bottom
>Ithaca 37 featherlite
>Remington Model 11 (Auto 5 Clone)
>Remington Model 10 (old fucking shotgun, mines from the 1920s)
>Remington 870 Wingmaster (90s production with replacement stock set)
>H&R 10GA Single Shot
>This is actually a vintage Cobray 37mm flare launcher I got for shits and giggles
Cheers. I love the shape design of the remington 11
All I have is a Maverick 88, but it has been proven to be a somewhat reliable shotgun, I had issues with saline buildup on the choke tube but that issue is past me.
Anywho my list of shotguns to buy is:
>Mossberg 590 Mariner
>Mossberg 590A1
>Mossberg 500 retro
>Benelli Nova
>Benelli M4
>Stoeger SxS for Doom LARP
>Maybe a good condition Winchester 1897
>KSG, maybe?
The 590 Mariner is on the top 5 most wanted guns and I think I might as well bite the bullet and buy one for christmas this year before retards panic buy again next year because of Election season
I have a 18" Remington Spartan/Bakial 12ga SXS which i love. Also have a old ass Ted Williams Sears/Roebuck single shot 12ga i got for 20 bucks for a coworker- probably stolen.
My 16 Gauge Pinfire
+ Was cheap and u can own it here in europe without a license, u dont need to registry it either
The barrel was so rusty and pitted i had to cut it down to a coach shotgun. When i got it the barrel so rusty and pitted i was suprised it didnt blow up when i shot it.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/305253272969?
Savage 720 and some other random under over I forgot the name of , why do i like them ? Because shotguns are based
I've had a few.
If you can only afford the modern chinese copies, hard pass.
>zero talk about pattern
you guys are all larpers
I have an old 870 Sport Magnum with a modified barrel, it keeps a pretty tight group out to 25yds with both 00 buck and #8. I had a hard time buying shotguns in the last few years because most of the new tactical stuff is cylinder bore, and good interchangeable chokes are hard to find, unless you buy them from someone like PatternMaster. Hate to say it but as far as I can tell, the fuddlore is correct--old, dedicated-choke barrels seem to hold better patterns than the interchangeable ones.
This is going to sound crazy.
I never actually patterned my 500.
I use it to shoot skeet, so I've come to just "know" how it shoots.
they let u use pumps for skeet in the US?
It's rarer to find someone that doesn't use a pump or auto in the US for duck and bird hunting. Doubles are slowly becoming more of a curio in the US.
Unfortunately
It's on the farm with my dad and my brother, so yeah, they'd let me use a Gatlin gun if I had one.
They don't let you use pumps elsewhere? Ranges don't really give a shit what you use around here as long as it isn't a safety hazard. Go nuts with an 18.5" barrel cylinder bore maverick 88 for all they care.
yeah, the skeet place I go to is more chilled than most, and they get mad if the barrel is under 26 inches. U/O only unless u have a disability.
International Shooting Sport Federation doesn’t allow pumps in competitions. Before you ask, yes they are retarted.
Dad used to shoot with an old dude who rocked a saiga with a bead and was a fuckin surgeon with it
I don’t even own a double barrel
Just pumps, a semi auto, and a vintage straight pull.
Nta, but when I think skeet, I just think informally shooting clays with a clay thrower, and I assume a lot of people are too
I am
Lol I shoot skeet with an 18" 20ga Mossman. They don't care just load one shell at a time
My IZh got great patterns, nevermind the fact that it's 50 years old. I only shoot factory ammo
Adler B230t
don't buy this piece of shit. it jams badly and is inaccurate as a mother fucker
Ithaca 37 featherlight. If it's good enough for the TF2 mercs, it's good enough for you.
What is the final verdict on the turkshit benelli m4 clones? I know they are turkshit, but how many rounds until they detonate? Are they even semi-reliable?
there's one in Australia that's legal on a normal licence that's super reliable. if it's the same one, then yeah its sold. the Turkish clones are generally good but the Turkish originals are rubbish.
solid*
this is everyone who posted in this thread
Nope.
First thing I did was put a stock on my Mossy.
Love my model 12s. Take downs in general
God damn those are gorgeous anon
The optic is useless but seemed like a good idea at time
With police departments phasing out shotguns for rifles, when are we going to see some semiauto trade-ins? Or did every department in America use 870s
>when are we going to see some semiauto trade-ins?
It's getting more and more unlikely that police departments will sell off their stuff. Especially semi autos
Tbh the beretta 1301 is already pretty cheap at $1400 or so msrp and the benelli m4 is pretty outdated
I'm not sure it would be very impactful
I have never heard of PDs issuing benelli M4s to the average street cop either
golly i sure do love that surefire integrated light pump
what a little honey
Do these count? My 870 is at home
Why is your shell elevator so low
That's the bolt release, 1100 and 1187's are weird
Looks neat, what is it?
Just get a Mossberg 500
is this the shotgun thread?
my follower always gets stuck in the receiver after the very last last shell
im talking catastrophic failure, i need to bang it with a hammer to un-jam it, impossible to do it by hand or by just reloading
the follower is plastic, would it help to get an aluminium follower or is my shit just fucked?
What gun?
a russian clone of a remington 870
that piece of shit had zero quality control man
Sell it and use the money to buy a Mossberg 500/590.
Best way to get rid of somebody is to loan them money.
Basic bitch Remington 870 Express. No frills. No gimmicks.
They don’t, they make them more awkward and are only useful on extremely short shotguns like Serbu Super Shorties or KSGs, for traditional rifle stocks it makes it more awkward, doesn’t make me want a dual pistol grip Mossberg 500 with a heat shield any less though.
im eying a browing auto 5 but the stupid cops are anti guns panzie, never done anything illigal yet they dont want to give me the permit i should have because they are so fucking lazy.
>shotty says 6+1
>it actually fits 7+1
little sweet surprises like this make my day!
It's probably chambered for 3 1/2 inch and you put shorter shells in it
I thought every shotgun's capacity was marked for 2 3/4 shells but that would make sense.
870 from 30 years ago. It still works because I got it before big green went to dogshit
From top to bottom
>Ithaca 37 with a choate side folding stock
Got it for slam firing fun and thought the side folder on it was really cool. I generally love Ithaca for how smooth their actions are
>Ithaca Model 87
Was a Ducks Unlimited edition that came with a second rifled barrel and a set of chokes. Very smooth shooting shotgun, even if it can't slam fire. It's a great game gun. Also my favorite to take to trap and skeet
>HS-10B
I don't really like it, but I have it more as a collector's piece because of how oddball it is. I blame playing CoD Black Ops for driving me to throw money towards it when I shouldn't have. The Kel-lite however is neat and still works
>spas-12
Besides the weight and cost, I just love everything about it. Yeah, I can only run high brass through it, but it's been surprisingly reliable to me. It's the gun I've wanted since I was a young kid. Jurassic Park and FEAR instilled a deep love for it in me
1897 because slamfire
There's a FN P12 for sale at my lgs right now. I don't need another gun, but I'm intrigued just because it's a modern discontinued gun.
How's it perform compared to other shottys?
Is it the US made P12 or Portuguese? If the latter, don't bother unless its dirt cheap. If the former, it's a nicer Winchester 1300. How much are they asking?
I have not checked but they're asking something like $575. What's the difference between Portugal and US made?
Mossberg 500AL, bought it for cheap and felt good after I took it apart and cleaned it. It looked like the last time anyone had taken it apart was the 90s.
Got a semi psa 12, got spades on it and is probably the best hand I'll get
Really like not a single over under?
Has 30in barrel but I plan on cutting it to 20in
>Cooey 840 (20 Gauge)
Neat little single shot break action. My go to gun for game birds. Bought it because FO:NV made me like 20 gauge single shots
>Thalman Suhl 125 SxS
Interesting piece of cold war history coming out of East Germany. Both barrel has different chokes which I like for duck hunting
Browning A5
Mossberg Shockwave memecannon
Mossberg 930
Remington 870 Police
Stoeger Coach Gun
Benelli M1 Super 90
All of them are g2g, I've had good luck with shotgun purchases.
My man does not have any photo to flex them ayy
(16 ga 2 and 9/16 as opposed to what I WANTED 16ga 2 and 3/4)
Eight Sebendy because it's nice and old
🙂
A part of me wants to keep my Remington 870 Wingmaster with wood furniture the way it is, a simple and classic look. The other wants to
>Put a M4-stylr folding stock on it
>Add a top rail with an optic
>Replace the front hand guard with a tri-rail
>Put an angled foregrip and a flashlight on it
>Add a mean looking muzzle break
>what shotgun
Winchester model 12 featherweight with a polychoke
>why
$250 for the cousin of the beloved trench gun was too good to pass on. Polychoke is ugly but I'm willing to accept it for a 99 year old gun at that price.
Are CZ O/U guns (and I guess all Turkshit by extension) really that bad? I don't need a fancy ass gun, I just want a clays gun that I don't have to take care of. I can get a fancy italian gun some other time if I want to flex on the boomers at the club.
I wouldn't bother with an O/U under $1000 tbh. The build quality is shit. You'd be better off just buying a nicer used Browning o/u or something.
>Baikal I cut down with a hacksaw
Because it fits in my pants easily
Even based triple nickle trips won't save you bro, but checked regardless
M4. I just do.
I like my Rossi 410 single shot.
Bumping for interest. This would be the ideal survival shotgun imo
I'm into my 30's now, and she still buys my annual range membership for Christmas every year
Why? Does she plan on buying it for you? For herself?
My only shotgun is a maverick 88. I bought it for bear defense. Nothing special about it, it just werks.
It is the lightest long gun I own, which is nice. Very comfy and easy to shoot.
police surplus Wingmaster from before I was born
it satisfies my "need" to possess a shotgun and it has SOVL out the ass—it's got scratches and cracks everywhere, rack numbers paint penned on it, it's got a weirdly smooth spot on the grip where checkering probably used to be, etc.
A Silver Pigeon
I like it because it has engraved Pigeons
I also have a LEGO remington 870
But it sucks cuz its >2010 so even after sanding down the chaber some shells get stuck :*~~) fuck you remington
