this. They make guns for people who know absolutely nothing about them and don't watch YouTube or go on social media. This is literally for people who sell coworkers their "personal firearm." Thrown around like nothing.
Their autoloaders are shit; avoid them at all costs.
Their old revolvers have heaps of QC issues; avoid at all costs.
Their new revolvers made within the last 4-5 years (856, 605, 905, 942, 82, 66) are perfectly serviceable and reliable as per anybody who's bought one within that timeframe. The new production revolvers, especially the small-framed ones, do not have the QC issues that they used to. Taurus hired all new engineers and got all new machinery for their revolver production about 5 years ago and placed a big emphasis on QC. Everybody I've talked to who has one thinks they're great revolvers for the money, and I share that opinion.
The triggers aren't the best, the matte finish isn't the best either. However they're well-built, reliable, and in my experience pretty accurate.
If you want a nicer gun, save up for a nicer gun. If you want an affordable carry revolver that you don't mind dinging up and scratching while also doubling as a fun plinker/range gun - the Taurus is a pretty good option for that.
Got pictel back in June, it's served me very well so far
Yeah it's just two laters of white paint applied with a Q-tip. Works well enough and like i said it's a gun i inttend to ding up and scratch so who cares. Is yours an ultra lite? Mine is not because I've shot +p out of aluminum airweights and I thought it was borderline unmanageable
Picrel was 2-shot groups out of my 856 drawing from the waistband at 7yd

>THEY'RE GOOD NOW THEY GOT NEW ENGINEERS AND THE NEW CEO IS GONNA FIX THEIR FUCKED UP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QC
Every single Taurus thread lol people have been saying this about them every 5 years for at least as long as I've been alive, and it's never been true.
They make plenty of money shitting out garbage favelashit guns, why the fuck would they spend money improving if everyone's lead poisoned boomer dad keeps buying a Judge because "it's the perfect home defense gun"
Clearly having a shit product and abysmal reputation doesn't hurt the bottom line THAT much if they've been doing it for 80 fucking years.
I mean if you don't trust it then don't buy it but there are plenty of folks with new production Taurus's that are happy with them and will attest to their reliability. Never gonna claim they're super nice guns, never gonna claim they're better than Colt's& SW's, but they're absolutely the best at the price point. New Taurus revolvers are like the old glocks of the revolver world. They ain't fancy but they work.
Go ahead and keep screaming about it though
> Yeah it's just two laters of white paint applied with a Q-tip
sounds easy enough. Might give this a go. I was also thinking about a bright orange nail polish.
>Is yours an ultra lite?
nah I have a 605 which is chambered in .357. They only make UL models for the 856 if I’m not mistaken. I wanted the option to use .357, even though I carry it with .38spl+p.
Yeah you're right, looks like the 605 is the only small frame they don't make in ultra lite. I considered the 605 but realistically i would never shoot .357 out of it so I opted for the extra 6th round of .38+p. Does yours have the rubber grips?
Not sure if you mean the ribbed ones or not but here is mine
https://i.imgur.com/CmS5Q34.jpg
I just got my 605 and put a 100 rounds through it. Zero issues so far. Just works. I also have a 627 tracker with light primer strikes. Need to contact Taurus.
Glow in the dark gunsight paint is the best. If you get actual yellow or white paint its fucking invisible in low light. Obviously the glow in the dark feature is pointless, because you're never going to store your gun somewhere with more light than where you'll use it, but the fluorescence makes it 100x more visible.
It's like 10 bucks for a lifetime supply of the stuff.
>Go ahead and keep screaming about it though
The devil's advocate says the crowd that keeps saying Taurus is fixed every five years are the ones that are screaming
>Go ahead and keep screaming about it though
I simply bought a good gun instead after my 66 committed suicide in under 500 rounds, half of which were .38spl
I am simply trying to convince my fellow poorfags to learn from my mistake and put that money toward half the cost of a gp100 instead
Fair enough. Like I said if you want a nicer gun buy a nicer gun. SP101 is on my list because I'm a huge Rugerfag. How old was your 66?
>Go ahead and keep screaming about it though

I think they look nice. The ribbed ones I see online don’t look appealing. They function well for a cheap gun. I can get a decent grip on it with my hands. I’m sure there are better grips out there for their revolvers

Neato. Mine came with the factory wood grips, which I like the look of and they're easy to wrap my fingers around when drawing, also helps that i can get all my fingers on it. But I've been considering some rubber grips for better traction - the wood grips are a bit slippery

2014 production which was right at the height of yet another "no you guys taurus is good now the new ceo is gonna turn it around" cycle
Tbh the part that really sealed the deal for me on never buying another Taurus firearm was the customer service guy telling me the gun wasn't covered under warranty despite being under a year old and literally falling apart under normal use, but I was sure welcome to send it in to them for repairs that would cost more than I paid for the gun AND take 6-8 months.

Understandable, I've heard for years their customer service is god awful. Given the performance of my 856 so far I don't expect to need their customer servoce, but I get why it's a deal breaker for you.
Sode jote - all the more reason to buy Ruger. Had a Ruger 556 blow its gas block after 500rd. Called Ruger, sent it in, they sent it back fixed. No cost to me. Pretty good

They’re service grips so that is to say not the most pleasant but fine for a belly gun, and yea the bands help. overall I was just going for a retro mafia jframe vibe. Not a carry piece for me and barely even shoot it, just a fun project gun inspired by history
They are the most innovative manufacturer right now. 9 out of 10 for me. Hope they keep making stupid ass revolvers and the raging hunter series shits on pistols 3 times it's cost.
I just got my 605 and put a 100 rounds through it. Zero issues so far. Just works. I also have a 627 tracker with light primer strikes. Need to contact Taurus.
anon one of the top airline manufacturers, embraer, is Brazilian and they provide planes to US companies like Delta and American Airlines and Southwest. If you've ever flown on a regional hub<-->international hub airport, it was likely Embraer.
Used to own a 605, sold it because one time I brought it to the range, pulled it out of my holster, aimed it at the target and I couldn't pull the trigger. The start at the rear of the ejector rod started to gather some rust which somehow fused with the back plate. It was very strange since it's not like the gun was sitting in the safe for years, I'd just shot it the weekend prior. It was winter so as I was going outside and coming back inside, I bet there was some condensation on the gun which may have caused it. Scared the fuck out of me. It took a little bit of force but I got it unstuck and it was working perfectly normal again, but I decided that I'm not trusting a Taurus 605 for self defense
Some of their older PT-92 pistols were made on Beretta machines at an old Beretta facility by former Beretta employees and are pretty solid. I don't know how/if this has changed over the years.
They make SOME good guns (TX22, G2, G3, some revolvers), for the money. But compared to more expensive stuff not really. Cost is an important consideration though imo. Some are truly stinky though, especially the older models with drop safety flaws (which seems like most of them lol)
this. I’m Latino and when I lived in Miami I was surrounded by retards. Goddamn people are so fucking stupid in southern s Florida. Cubans and Venezuelans are the worst.
They are not made in Miami. The Tauruses in my gun store all still have Brazilian import markings. The only thing they make in the US is the TX22 due to import fuckery.
I'm a poorfag and I got a G2C because it was the only gun in the gun store I could afford, and even then it was a stretch. Got a box of Ammo Incorporated 9mm ammo on the gunstore guy's recommendation. When I went to the range to test my gun with a box or two (too poor for more than that) EVERY. SINGLE. ROUND. of Ammo Inc failed to feed. Not one successful feed, and so bad that each one took over a minute to fix, I'd have been dead in a real life scenario. Switched to mag tech on range officer suggestion they were shocked and said they've never seen anything like that before with a new gun. Magtech worked 100%. Tried other brands since then and not one single failure at all. Tried ammo inc again and the exact same thing.
Moral of the story is my g2c has never had a failure except for ammo tech which fails 100% of the time I try to use it. So if you do buy a g2c under no circumstances ever buy ammo inc ammo. It's how it's shaped or something, even without firing if you try to chamber a round it simply will not chamber.
Other than the ammo inc debacle I actually really love the gun. Super easy to shoot, easy to clean, comfortable, and never had a single failure other than ammo inc.
I’ve never seen anyone white buy a Taurus. I’ve also never seen anyone be declined a sale except someone trying to buy a Taurus. I don’t think I’d buy one regardless if they weren’t shit.

Not a larp. Just look it up, it's a common thing that ammo inc doesn't work with G2C. Found out after I bought it obviously
>glowie
why are you inserting a space like that?
What? Why would glowies say that ammo tech is shit for g2c?
So you encourage using popular brand so the other glowies can go after the meme posting manufacturers
they make a decent 1911 the pt1911 was my first ever gun i owned i liked it
No.
Also, received cash from feminazi gungrabers in Brazil. Send this company to hell.
