>takes full advantage of modern 22 pressure standards, like Stingers/Velocitors
>BUT unlike those, keeps a huge advantage of 22 which is subsonic/low noise
Why isn't it the standard loading for .22LR?
>takes full advantage of modern 22 pressure standards, like Stingers/Velocitors

Why isn't it the standard loading for .22LR?
Not optimized for standard 22 barrels, apparently it is good for 5.56 barrels though on account of the faster twist rate
My understanding that long-range and high-precision shooting with .22 is typically done with subsonic ammo because going transsonic is bad for accuracy.
It's the best they can do in Mexico.
Right but that's just with regular 40gr projectiles. When the bullet gets longer, you need a faster twist rate to stabilize it.
>My understanding that long-range and high-precision shooting with .22 is typically done with subsonic ammo because going transsonic is bad for accuracy.
yes, I also watched garandthumb's .22boomer video
why are you pretending like the most basic of precision shooting information is only allowed to be disseminated by guntubers?
It's just funny how a few days ago one of the biggest guntubers had a guy on talking about precision shooters using sub-sonic .22lr for competing in that category and all of a sudden people on random forums are giving the exact same verbatim explanation for it, isn't it?
>it's funny how one of the biggest guntubers said the most entry level information regarding .22lr shooting. crazy right
The world doesn't revolve around you. Shit magically appearing is just because you start noticing things.
It's actually louder than say federal 45gr through a suppressor because it opens the bolt faster (higher back pressure from heavier bullet, lower weight+shorter case), so you get more "port pop". At least, it is in a semi auto.
>apparently it is good for 5.56 barrels though on account of the faster twist rate
It actually is pretty accurate through conversion kits, or at least in my experience it's better than say minimags.
Nothing is as good as dedicated though, unfortunately.
Side note the short case on the SSS rounds can give you some really interesting, fucked up malfunctions.
Had a case end up dropping down into the fcg pocket once instead of ejecting, for instance.
Fucking thing wedged sideways, then when I pulled the trigger for the next shot, the hammer really drove it home and I needed a fucking screwdriver to get it out.
Never had issues with these in any of mine.
Nice to see it turning up again, I was afraid it had vanished. I still have a bit in the old packaging.
>Why isn't it the standard loading for .22LR?
it tends to keyhole from normal 22lr barrels, assuming it actually makes it out the muzzle.
Has anyone tried these in a CP33? Mine likes Aguila, but I never see this in stores. It would be cool to try.
Why can't Aguilar use powder that burns cleaner than cheap charcoal briquettes?
it's a black powder round, what's your fucking problem?
I've looked into this before, it's because every single production .22lr firearm has too slow of a twist rate. Yeah you could probably find a custom barrel pretty easy for a 10/22, but then you just doubled the price of the gun. For the better .22s out there, there's no chance in hell unless you want to talk to an actual machine shop.
Currently the only use case is .22lr adapters in AR15s.
It would be nice if it was the standard but I don't think that will ever happen.
>Brah, they have regular execuations in Belarus and Iran does it help regime much?
You're not seeing it from the Russians' point of view.
Putin and his siloviki all grew up as the Cult of the Great Patriotic War starting taking off during the Brezhnev Era, where all of the Soviet Union's crimes from the 1930s to the end of World War II, ranging up to the extermination of entire ethnicities, are either straight-up denied or whitewashed as having been a necessary evil to root out Fascist (re. foreign) influence.
Because mutts can't pronounce it.
>"Ken ahh git sumodem AG-WEE-LERS?"
Huh?
>"Them AG-WUH-LARS, son."
Are you having a stroke?
>"Ahh, fuggit, gimme da BUGGIT!"
Unironically, this is actually a thing. I've never heard anyone speak that word out loud. I have no idea what the correct pronunciation is.
Also, never seen that brand at Walmart. I occasionally run across it when shopping for ammo online, but it's always 20% or 30% more expensive than cheap, gud enough .22 to plink around. Given comments like this
, I also have no intention of burning it through my guns.
I mean, c'mon. Pay more to shit my guns up harder? With Mexican grade ammo? Don't fucking think so.
This thread also points out the Mexican sub-IQ "thinking" process. Build a meme round that can't perform in 95% of all .22 lr rifles ever made because they can't into the most fundamental of ballistics physics. They're just scamming money for a shit product, and because I've seen it with some of their products, I have to assume it for all of their products, therefore they've lost me as a customer for my entire lifetime. There's some sort of a lesson here about competing in a market where there are other superior options for cheaper, and it escapes the Mexican brain capacity. They can't accommodate customers with functioning brains and an education, they can't imagine that people like that exist..
I believe it is ah-keel-uh
It's kinda expensive compared to regular .22
The entire point of 22lr is being as cheap as possible. This ammo is not as cheap as possible.
Groups well out of my Crak-Shot.
Runs goodenuff out of my TX-22
Best cycling subsonic Ive found for it
Shame they dont make it anymore or it's a very limited yearly run that I keep missing. Ive about burned through all the bricks people have given me because it keyholed in their shit magdumping roadsigns and shit.
I icepicked one of these all the way through a grey squigger in my yard once, that was neat!
you cant even figure out how to pronounce a word in another language, yet you go all 'in this moment I am euphoric' in the same post.
Toppem kek!
Meant for
I learned to love the smell of Eley primers. Ever seen what a box of SSS does to a fresh pile of trash?
what % of .22 is actually supersonic? can't be that much.
Most modern bulk ammo is. You'll have to go looking for old style standard velocity ammo these days.
the majority is transonic, which sounds really weird, almost like a flowing sonic crack. it's like a loud wsssssssssh sound down range as opposed to a "sfff" sound
What anon said, basic 40/36gr is supersonic, they'll tell you on the box otherwise.
Just give me all of it
I'll shoot things in New Jersey with it
.22lr sucks and you'd only be making it slightly better, if it's not snake oil. There's no point in trying to squeeze performance out of a .22. It's a joke round that you get basically model guns in, or guns you can hunt rats with for the rest if the apocalypse. The concept is that .22lr is so cheap you can cheaply stock enough ammo to last a lifetime in that scenario. It's not even that cheap anymore, I stopped bothering with it when it stopped being $1.25 for 50. Just learn trapping if you wanna eat rats.
mouse traps are very highly evolved, 22lr is not
