I can’t fricking believe it. Years of Russian glowie work, dozens of FSB heads, and billions of Ruble all went down the drain over the course of 5 days. Girkin must be trying to rope right now; his life’s work has undone in the most brutally incompetent way possible.

Girkin is going to wait for the Russian government collapse and become a warlord. Probably would be the most competent one.

You think Ukraine will push into Russia or stop at the border if they do manage to push Russia out?

      Anonymous

They'll stop at the border. Then they can just wave and laugh as Russia collapses. No NATO country would support them putting a foot into Russian territory.
Take back all the stuff they lost in 2014?
      Sure.
      Reclaim Crimea?
      Go ahead.
      Enter Russia?
      That's a big Nope

        Anonymous

        >No NATO country would support them putting a foot into Russian territory.
That's what I was thinking. I can't imagine they'd be so stupid to counter-invade but you never know.

        Anonymous

Back when the Kyiv Retreat was happening the Ukrainians did push into Russia a bit to ensure the Russian did keep to their side of the border all the way into the first Russian village they found. So there have already been Ukrainian boots on Russian land already, but it's more of a "chasing you into your own country to ensure you stay there" thing.

          Anonymous

Also turn about is fair play. The west would probably not keep sending weapons if Ukraine kept pushing into Russia, but I don't think many would bat an eye.
Its not going to happen anyways. Winter is approaching and it would be suicide to do it, even with the Russian military in the state its in. Ukraine can't hold that kind of ground so it would basically amount to a raid. The only acceptable thing would be attacking Russian military bases then getting the frick out, but there's no need to do that when you can park a HIMARS on the border and do it that way.

            Anonymous

            >Also turn about is fair play. The west would probably not keep sending weapons if Ukraine kept pushing into Russia, but I don't think many would bat an eye.
It's the optics. If Ukraine uses NATO weaponry to retake what was lost, up to and including the internationally-recognised borders then that's repelling invaders. if they push over the border then it can be made to look like NATO invading by proxy, making NATO an aggressor, which is the lie Putin has been pushing down the throats of his people for years. The Russian people need to understand that you leave NATO alone, NATO leaves you alone

              Anonymous

I agree, its just that if Russia continues to launch attacks even once the borders are restore to their original places, then Ukraine will definitely have a justified reason to continue.

      Anonymous

Stop at the border. Only border they might actually cross is Moldova's cause it costs them literally nothing to dick over a Russian puppet state and it saves them the trouble of telling Russia that no, they can't invade Moldova through Ukraine, after this war is over.
