Why are PrepHole gays like this? They judge good old soviet tanks while praising same piece of garbage from 80s like Leopard 2 or Abrams

Leo's and m1s got upgrades
same with t's
Carousel autoloader tanks were already getting long in the tooth with the advancement of 105mm APFSDS and just ogre gg ez no re when the 120mm smoothbore gun came out. Also more complicated and space intensive in the hull than bustle autoloaders.
I dont get a single word you said. Can you explain to me in detail?
I respect your admission of ignorance and humility to request more info. I hope he replies to you in a nice way, you gay.
better newer ammunition physically doesn't fit in older autoloaders
soviet doctrine also never prioritized crew survivability
Even wikipedia says that soviet's main goal is to mobilise as much men as possible and make sure everyone has they own gun or tank. They didnt plan to make some large scale offensives into western Germany but made plans to hold off western coalition until nuclear weapons launch. Like this dude
said that Soviets rivaled whole world even China and their last hope was to produce cheap and good ICBMs to blow up any attacker. Maybe thats the case. But still its not hard to guess who would win in 1 Abrams vs 3 T's engagement. No matter how good your tank is you still lose 1 Abrams and destroy one T at best.
This post is so misinformed there is no way it isn't bait.
>They didnt plan to make some large scale offensives into western Germany but made plans to hold off western coalition until nuclear weapons launch.
Where did you get this idea?
Very good spoken sir.
APFSDS from 105s where already going through the T-64/72/80/90 tanks as they were adding more armor to them.
When the 120mm came out their armor was even more worthless.
From the current conflict we know that 3bm42 (Standard 125mm soviet dart from the mid 80s) cuts clean through the front of their most modern MBTS (T80 BVM),
105mm darts from the mid 80s penetrate as much as the 3bm42 and were on platforms that were significantly more likely to see the enemy first and hit them.
These tanks are likely to go up in flames killing the crew if they get penetrated by anything on the battlefield and the layout makes it impossible to uparmor them. They also aren't mechanically simple like an AK or a T-34, in fact they require constant maintenance by competent people. And on top of that, they're being used and deployed by a country that pretty much can't afford them, as evidenced by the fact that Russian tactics, training standards, and maintenance standards are significantly (and, in some ways, dramatically) lower than in the Soviet Union.
The T-80 platform in particular is a goner, nobody's ever going to produce them again and AFRF are burning through their remaining stockpiles at a ridiculous rate because they don't have any other modern-ish MBTs to throw at the problem left.
Very few tanks are pleasant places to be in if they get penned.
Basically, they russians have already got the absolute limit for the performance of ammo that'll fit in those T-series autoloaders. The whole tank's built with that autoloader in mind, so if you're ditching it then you may as well design a whole new tank cause there won't be room for a 4th mobik in there even if you gut the autoloader.
>But wait; there's more!
105mm APFSDS from the 80's could already core out a T-72/T-80 with relative ease, and is only nominally inconvenienced by even modern Russian ERA. 120mm APFSDS doesn't even acknowledge said ERA. And both calibers have continued to improve since.
>And finally
Fire control and optics on Western tanks skullfuck the life out of those on the T-72, T-80, and T-90. The Abrams/Leo2/Chally2/Leclerc/Ariete will see the vatnikmobile first 99/100 times, and will then proceed to instantly delete it (and probably cook off the ammo in the carousel too).
>They judge good old soviet tanks while praising same piece of garbage from 80s like Leopard 2 or Abrams
Leopard 2 and Abrams from the 80's have actual thermal sights. Even top of the line Soviet era tanks like the T-80 were stuck with the same garbage infrared flashlights that monkey model export T-72's had in Desert Storm.
>same with t's
Russia upgraded some of their Soviet era tanks with decadent Globohomo technology. But huge sections of their tank fleet still consist literal Soviet Era crap.
>Russia upgraded some of their Soviet era tanks with decadent Globohomo technology.
That's long gone.
nice upgrades m8
Poosia can't even produce basic optics, nothing they can put on tracks matters. Their tanks are just moving (at best) tombs.
Leo 2 and abrams had more room to run than any t series tank. also thermals less corruption etc etc.
that being said the modernized t series tanks aren't as bad as this board likes to say. just know that people will irrationally hate anything russian/soviet for the next couple years because that's how it goes.
idk how this 1v1 warthunder shit is even a discussion anymore though. when one side has states with more gdp than the other it shouldn't be surprising when all their military hardware is better.
The pic you posted has a fucking IR searchlight on it anon
>too small
>bad sensors / thermals
>bad stabilizers
>reverse speed so slow that forces crews to expose their rears to shoot and scoot
>weak armour even penetrated by 30mm under the side skirts
>low crew survival ratio due to dangerous ammo carrousel
even their top of the line tanks with french thermals are shit compared to western ones, and they knew it, hence the T-14 vaporware
I don't think the T-80 and T-64 suffer from the same awful reverse speed as the T-72 but I could be mistaken. Stabilization on later T-80s isn't supposed to be bad either.
the t64 can go 4mph in reverse the t80 8mph t72/90 3mph
Is it bait or cope, who knows
The T80 is the equivalent to takinf a Patton and throwing a bunch of 80's electronics on it. In other words a Magach, which would probably still destroy a T80.
Because no decent radios.
>>T-80 is outdated piece of junk
>>Why? B-because i said so
>Why are PrepHole gays like this?
Because we eventually ran out of people who are still willing to invest the time to explain it to some retard who will anyway just still claim it is good in the next thread.
tl;dr: Vatniks are to blame for it.
>why do PrepHoleedditors act like redditors
gee, i wonder !
All tanks are outdated garbage. IFVs, artillery and drones are the future.
bump
>T-80
Because as well as everything from Ukraine, it is utter shit.
its shit because the russians copied the engine from the chieftain, which was also shit.
it performed so badly in chechnya that the russians stopped buying them altogether.
on top of this it has all the usual garbage you can find in a russian tank, like the ammo carousel that vaporizes the crewmen on detonation, the quality control that is typical of an incredibly corrupted country (armor plates missing, era tiles with only rubber spacers and no explosive), a tank gun that is inferior to western 120mm and was only adopted because in the mind of the slav higher number means better (while in reality the ammo performs much worse), things of that nature.
now you better get back to the sweatshop ranjeesh or your family won't eat tonight.
Get this. HATO can see shit in the dark. At night. They can see heat like fucking predator. So can their tanks and get this, they can target and hit another tank while rolling at 40KM in the middle of the night from kilometres away.
