I own PrepHole's largest and most valuable collection of REAL swords. I've been collecting buying and selling swords for over 20 years. Post your sword and I'll identify and valuate it. I am an accredited evaluator of edged weapons.

the shinshinto wakizashi in the OP is the one I got. Very cheaply, too. It has flaws (delams) but this is fine, I only want it for comparison to my other swords (picrel) in terms of balance / geometry.
        It's mumei/unsigned. Just a basic b***h, relatively recent nihonto.
        also

        >I own PrepHole's largest and most valuable collection of REAL swords.
        doubt

        double doubt

It's real. What'd did you pay, $800-1400? You don't have to tell me. Unsigned it could be worth whatever. Neat mountings, did you get a shirasaya?

I've mentioned that repeatedly . Doesn't matter for my purpose. I literally only want it to compare balance and geometry to my other swords.

I picked a certain sword to collect. I also do kukris, Bowie knives, and European hunting daggers and swords. But triple edged rapiers and court swords are my deal. I have a world class collection.

                >triple edged rapier
                Do you mean smallswords

                Anonymous

Not really. Smallswords are simply a subtype of rapier. Also included are court swords, dress swords, and even the rare child's sword. But my point is I am interested in the triangular-bladed form. Whether Colchimarde or straight.

Not really in my interest but if I were to see a big bargain on an authentic one I would buy it and hope to sell it later in order to fund a triangular bladed sword. I've done this before but just with normal swords. Maybe dozens of times. Just sell something cool so I can do something rad with my collection.

Smallswords are distinct in cross section, size, use, and function, but sure.

A good inlayed Wootz sword could be worth $2000 or more, or less. It seems the market is cool and a lot of stuff is coming from India now, all of it FAKE.

As a Kukri collector as you can tell by my photos, I can say with authority that the only wootz you should be buying is estate from geezers and auction house. Ebay is swamped with fakes. I have devoted over $9000 to buying fake antiquities to research them for select clients. Just to study and keep up with the latest schemes.

Btw sword autists are bamboo fast cutters worth it as beater long swords to dump on friends that won't injure them or would you go up to 300$ bracket which gives more than just katanas?
