Even if you have never even thought of doing a crime in your life. You should be prepared to defend you house and life from those who would readily take it from you. Be if from criminals or government agents.

For the sake of argument, In that case why not prepare different tactics for both gangbangers and SWAT? You should be prepared to deal with as many possible scenarios as you are reasonably able to do. Why slack on preparing against SWAT simply because there is a million to one chance that they come after you?

Honestly, if I could rig my home to blow without the risk of it ever going off by accident I would. I am not skilled enough to take on swat in the slightest, so if they ever want me im fucked. Least I can do is take whoever is in the house with me at the time with me.

If you're in a state like Texas where you are allowed to defend your property from home invasion would you get in trouble for shooting at police who sneak in or break in to your house before you realised they were police? Like let's say there's a crime wave of break ins with the criminals shouting police to subdue their victims, wouldn't that give you enough to doubt their legitimacy? You probably won't out shoot a SWAT team but what if it was a pair or a single cop who snuck into your house, wouldn't you be let off as long as you tried call 911 and at least try to save their life after you realised it was a cop.
If you went to a court, the dispatch call of you first asking for help since you heard intruders in your house, the camera on the cops and the second call for an ambulance after you shot the cop would surely be enough to save you from going to prison.
