so uhh what part of the suppressor is the receiver?
why hasn't someone just made an actual modular suppressor that's just a simple ring that screws in from both sides? one side would screw in a thread adaptor to fit any barrel, and the other side would fit the actual suppression system?
the ring would require a form 4 and take a year to get the stamp for, but the actual bit with the internals that silences stuff can just be sold over the shelf.
the ring would be some proprietary thread size that isn't easily buyable anywhere else.
i also have a design I'll post as a reply Incase the silencing mechanism has to be on the actual part that's the suppressor.
here's my modified design Incase the registered silencer needs a baffle in it.
Looks like you've had too much to think. Best take a break from that and let our government lead us because they know what's best.
literally just stop complying you fucking idiot
>so uhh what part of the suppressor is the receiver?
Silencers don't have receivers.
Whatever part has the serial number is what the ATF consider the "firearm" and that depends on the silencer.
I have a SF SOCOM and the serial is on the outer shell. Also have a Q Erector 9 and the serial is on the blast baffle.
the car muffler part anon
IIRC, every single part made for a suppressor is considered a suppressor. It's like a bunch of receivers squished together.
There are suppressors where just the part that threads on the barrel is serialized. The baffles can be swapped for multiple calibers. I forget the brand name but I watched YouTube reviews on it years ago.
Actually a good idea.
Curious what the legal viability of this is without the ATF sending you cease and desists (or just jumping straight to shooting your dog) if you try and sell this.

NEWFAGS CANNOT TRIFORCE.
This is just a QD system with more steps, it wouldn't change the legal classification from the ATF's perspective
all parts of a suppressor are a suppressor. by atf definitions, if you have a part that could conceivably become a suppressor, it's a suppressor.
pop bottle? suppressor.
mag lite? suppressor.
your penis pump? you guessed it, suppressor.
also, you don't have an SOT, so you can't modify, disassemble, repair, or clean said suppressor. once assembled, it stays that way, or you've remanufactured it, and you're now in violation of the law.
People have been trying suppressor workarounds forever unsuccessfully.
suppressors are regulated because they make crime very easy and finding a gangbanger with a homemade suppressor is an easy way to get a felony conviction.
Show me the last time a gangbanger used a real suppressor in the news, and I'll find you 50 articles of different ones with glawwwk swiiitttches mang.
Suppressors are regulated the same as the other NFA weapons, because the NFA was supposed to be the first stab at officially disarming the civilian populace of the US, so they couldn't fight back against an oppressive and non-responsive government.
>Show me the last time a gangbanger used a real suppressor in the news
that mob killing that was on video a few years back and that mass shooting that involved a guy with a suppressed pistol.
>Bullshit. A suppressed gunshot is still very loud
no its not lol, this is such a cope argument by 2a people to downplay how fucking not-noticeable a single suppressed gunshot is. i can fire my 300blk pistol out my fucking window and people will just think someone is doing roof work in the neighborhood. a suppressed .22 (one of the most popular murder weapons) is even quieter.
>just think someone is doing roof work in the neighborhood
>Can be heard through the whole neighborhood
>Not loud
Ok retard
you know what else is loud? birds, a car horn, a dog barking.
A single shot will very rarely alert anyone, suppressed or not.
inb4 ND story time.
>they make crime very easy
Bullshit. A suppressed gunshot is still very loud and just barely hearing safe. They are often still 130 decibels or more which is very close to being loud enough to cause hearing damage.
You watch too many movies. Like the scene in John Wick where they are having a gunfight in a crowd and nobody knows.
because GayTF interprets whatever part of an NFA item as being "NFA" so it doesn't matter what part you make the serialized item, they even classify wipes as suppressor parts, literal fucking neoprene washers you would buy at Home Depot. They interpret whatever they want at a whim. And yes I own 4 suppressors.
