Suicide Drones

How will Taiwan counter the hundreds of thousands of suicide drones deployed by the PLA Navy? If I was to defend Taiwan I would hide underground and lie flat to avoid such fate. Is Taiwan doomed without a counter?

What happens when they can't actually fire them within range because all their ships exploded.

Why would that happen? They have more ships.

Ground based and air launched anti-ship missiles are a thing.

Your plan REALLY shouldn't hinge on the idea that you have more solely.

But what if Taiwan has more missiles than they have ships.
I know this is a line straight from China vs Us carrier shitposting, but missiles are in fact less expensive than ships.

Funny, Chang seems to think that it'd be the U.S. going after the dam first and foremost. It's a good target for deterrence, a "you invade us, we hit this and do untold damage". However we have nukes for that.
Now then, pray tell, who doesn't have nukes, is part of the first island chain, and is constantly under threat of Chicom invasion and would rather value that deterrence? Not a hard thing to figure out. Pic rel.

unironically it's almost impossible to deliberately damage this thing to the point of failure. it's massive beyond comprehension. for scale, ukrainians used hundreds of GMLRS to hit antonovsky bridge and still only managed to damage the surface. this dam, in its weakest point, is about 50 times thicker than that bridge, reinforced concrete all the way

you're assuming it's competently built and that the concrete isn't half padded out with straw from the rice paddies.

Taiwan has suicide drone (GPS and anti-ship) too. It's mainly to do AD and block ship transport.
    > hundreds of thousands
After a few hundred the limiting factor for their effect is how many targets they can find. Guess what, launching 10 zillion drones is useless if you can't find any target of value.

Not even joking, China relies on foreign investment to stop domestic collapse. That's why they keep spitting out all the shitty scam products and shit for some reason that disappear a few months later after taking all the invested money.

china's major mil expo season is november. all the ccp media starts ramping up october and the mainland social media sites artificially boost semi-official miltech enthusiast channels around the same time.

when china wants to push its military prowess, they just force literally a hundred million+ chinese-speaking people to see some garbage on douyin / weibo / qq / wechat.

it's an increasingly tormenting feedback loop for china's actual military and weapons nerds, because the cult of personality shit and hyperbolic wolf warrior media have gone off the rails in the past few years.

imagine if the hellscapes from /misc/'s most lurid fantasies were really the state of play: everyone you know who expresses opinions on the world /actually is/ a le NAFO troon whose most enthusiastic pastime is suck-starting the deepstate while waving around their little red book-ass Xi Jinping Thought collections – on which they are *literally* quizzed as an integral part of daily work routine.

no matter how dogshit some new mil gizmo that a media team dreamed up for a <2min clip may be, or how unlikely it is to see any development beyond the minimum required to shoot the propaganda piece, normalfags will just repeat that it's the second coming of jesus' brother (pure han btw) and spew all over it with praise.

in that media environment, china is already the best, and always the best: if you view your nation's military capabilities in a manner roughly congruent with reality, i.e. as patchy and battling a long shadow of third-worldist antipatterns, good luck making room for that perspective among the literal millions of wumao retard-takes actively sponsored by your govt. so mil nerds just keep a low profile, and a ton of the smarter ones end up coalescing around indian defence forums – bc they're english-language, beyond the great firewall, and full of users who are highly motivated to cultivate realistic takes on china's capabilities.

Won't need to. PLAN's only play is to nuke the place using subs from an inconvenient to intercept distance. Giga Iwo Jima isn't viable even if they could send every Tom Dick and Harry in uniform to die like mobik cubists. It's not like TSMC isn't going to be scuttled and personnel evacuated or 86'd anyways (as if they could even learn to run the place without fucking it up when all they've done is embezzle countless billions that was supposed to develop at scale sub-10nm chip manufacturing on that level lol lmao)

Plus aren't the actual machines that make chips actually made in Europe, with super tight export controls?
