    >Meme or good gun?
    Yes.

There are better out of the box bullpups these days, but with a bit if aftermarket tweaking it's a fine gun.

Out of the box its not great. The US Steyr made mags like to pop rounds out the top if you insert them too hard, using the VFG can open up your groups, the safety has razor sharp corners, and the trigger is legit 10 pounds of suck. Luckily, the aftermarket is kinda strong with the AUG and can fix a lot of these things if you have the cash.

I have no issues with my US made AUG.
And the AUG is my first gun and the gun with the 3rd highest round count.

Better than a SBR. If you don't need the small OAL, just go with a standard design. I have one and it's my go-to intermediate caliber. I don't have confidence in the other bullpup due to not being around nearly as long or being Israeli.

It's better than an SBR unless you're going full moron with a foldyboi that you can fit in a Jansport, since a bullpup with a barrel that short would be too small to get both of your hands on and have a reasonable LOP.

it's like the bar for bullpups. you must be at least this good otherwise it's a waste of time.

Is the F2000 really that short?

        Anonymous

well the AUG there has a 20in barrel, I think the F2000 is a 16in

I wish FN still made them.
Alas they tossed the rest of their old stock at Ukraine because oh no scary ruskies!
Its like we've gone back to 1974 and Russia is gonna invade at any moment

At least they're fulfilling their real purpose, and they're no longer a flop that never saw real combat

The MA5's were based on the F2000's believe it or not

Really the only bad thing about the military F2000s is their insistence on issuing them with the terrible pellet gun tier scopes and xbox hueg scope covers. If I was handed one of these I'd exhaust every possible option to get a red dot to replace that scope. At that point I would not feel underequipped for combat.

They're fun, trigger is fine, it's mil spec, anyone complaining about it, is just pissed it's not some sub 3 lb 3-gun gamer trigger. If you get one, just get the standard, not the NATO. No reason to get a cope version. The safety is sharp, but just take a small bit of like 220/320 grit sandpaper and file it down a bit, bam, fixed.

Will say, suppressing does suck a bit, you'll need a plug generally to do so, and due to where the ejection port is it'll be louder than a standard AR suppressed.

      >The safety is sharp
is that genuinely a thing? I only used it in service which was obviously well used by the time it got to me

Yeah mine was sharp out of the box, but I literally just sanded the edge down a bit, fine after.

        Anonymous

Yes, absolutely. First thing I did when I got mine was to knock down the edges and corners of the safety with a file because it was so obnoxiously sharp.

Eh, even that aside aug has been around long enough that there are kits to adjust the feel of that. If someone cares they can still tweak.

My single biggest issue with aug (caliber aside) is that it's a pretty shit suppressor host. But most don't care about that.

Yes, I know. I have a ratworx sear in mine and it's light as shit with a short reset, so much so I can bump fire it if I'm not careful. Honestly might just swap the old sear back in because I was fine with it.

The 2020 sear doesn't really drop the trigger weight much though. Using the new Steyr upgraded springs will drop it about 2lbs depending on tolerances.

It fixed it up a lot either way.

If you can bump fire your AUG after installing the 2020 it sounds like your trigger bar is preloading the sear and you should probably adjust the trigger on the trigger bar to not do that.

It's the best 'bullpup bullpup'. There are better bullpups than it like how there are better AR-15 style rifles than the M16A2, but both are extremely viable in their roles and are worth the time of day giving a respectful nod to.
