Please God, let them do this.

Ukraine will never be able to shoot it down. It is too fast and the stealth is too good. It will successfully hit the targeted Russian commie block, and there is nothing Ukraine can do to stop it.

The Ukrainians were the brains of the USSR. They'll figure out how to whack it.

          >They'll figure out how to whack it
I kind of wonder how stealth a plane can get.

Either optical tracking for terminal attack, or just home-on-glitch where it seeks on any random whacky radar returns in the vicinity of where it's been told a target is.

An actual civilian aircraft is obvious, the more stealth a fighter is, the more suspicious you could have a seeker AI consider it.

No, he knows that would never be winnable and that NATO can respond conventionally to any hybrid warfare he tries like blockades or mining black sea shipping channels etc.
It would continue to be non-NATO nations but maybe NATO candidates would be likely. Georgia would certainly have additional problems.

Kek so basically what this means is they finally made it somewhat capable for actual combat. So how long do you guys think the Ukrainians need to shoot it down?

      Anonymous

      >So how long do you guys think the Ukrainians need to shoot it down?
With all the advanced AA Ukraine has been given, I think it's going to be pretty short-lived if it goes near the front-lines. Even the rear isn't going to be a safe place to hang out. It might launch Kalibers from the black sea or well inside Russia.

        Anonymous

So at best propaganda pictures is all we are going to get from it. Shame, imagine how humiliating it would be if the Ukrainians would shoot it down on its very first combat mission.

          Anonymous

They have a semi-competent airforce general in charge, he's not going to want to humiliate himself like that.
It's bad enough that he's throwing helos away like they're expendable munitions.

picrel would be a viable option long before you even saw them.

Two guys, a combat pupper and a stack of Stingers would really ruin that Su-57s day. They could stay in cover until pupper told them it was coming.

          Could resurrect these things

Dogs can hear higher pitches, the screaming might be first audible in high frequencies.
It does depend on whether it's supersonic in its attack run though. Though if it cruises subsonic then that's still MANPAD bait for forward teams.

I wonder if your picrel was the inspiration for this picrel?
