standard issue nvg

how many countries have standard issue NVGs for their whole fighting force?
and what type of nvgs(monocular, binocular, gen2, gen3, fusion)?

I know the US has nvgs issued to everyone in line units, and has a small amount with fusion.
but what about other western countries? and what about their rivals?

Most rich western countries. They might not train with it like we do, but they've got it in inventory.
    >has a small amount with fusion.
PSQs have been around for over a decade. I wont say everyone has them because Im sure a lot of units fall through the cracks, but they've already filtered down to NG units for a while now.

        You must be European.
Stop trying to lump your useless poverty militaries in with the US's.
Poorgays don't stop being poor and moronic just because they have a rich and smart neighbor.

Not accurate. Border countries like Finland get nods. But for almost every other country, to include the Brits, nods are a team or squad leader asset. Night ops are still a joke for every country except America.

Even Americas night ops aren't good. Just the nature of it. But at least our drivers can fricking see

any sauce on that? I just cant find stuff on the internet, I know Americans have it because it's full of stuff about the us armed forces online but for let's say the French or polish or Italian army etc there's not much

        >Italian
you train with them and they are standards in night ops but you don't get issued a personal one. you get it if your mp require them on demand. Only the homosexual cool teams like comsumbin, folgore etc get the fusion vision stuff

He's full of shit, the Czech military issues NODs on a mission by mission basis and most of them are old 90s Klára gen2 devices that have absolutely busted tubes.
There's a handful of NV MAG gen 3 weapon mounted NODs but they rarely get taken out because weapon mounted NV is a meme.
There are also some MUM-14 gen3 monos but not even enough to fully equip the high speed units.
I know for a fact that the situation is the same or worse in Poland, Slovakia and all the other slav NATO countries, and the krauts aren't a lot better off.
        t. has his own NV

I still am, as for the other countries we have joint exercises where you can talk to other NATO service members.
US is a complete anomaly when it comes to equipment, no one even comes close, and that goes especially for NODs.

The Army can afford to outfit infantry with PVS-14 monocles. It is equipment that used to be reserved for SF, as were red dot sights.

Consider even without NV there are aircraft with thermal sensors, drones and satellite imagery, expansive SIGINT. There are many ways for Uncle Sam to find you and destroy you.

I don’t know for sure but I would guess most, even non infantry could be outfitted with NVGs in the us. I base this on my anecdotal personal experience. I was TAD to the hq co armory for HQ Bn of 1st Mardiv and we had like 700 PVS 14s, which was like triple the number of people in our company. They weren’t regularly issued but we had them

I served as a Danish conscript from aug. 2023 and almost everyone was issued the “Theon Argus FS” with a couple of guys having to use the pvs-14 all within the first week of boot camp, during the first 4 months we also got two “L3 Insight MTM thermal monoculars“ in our squad and a French thermal spotting bino called the “JIM LR”. We were also given 3x magnifiers for our night vision monocular. And for our small arms during conscript service our two m60 gunners In the squad where issued night vision elcan scopes while the rest of us got the “Steiner DBAL A3”. I can post some pics. We both use them for night ops and trench clearing. I really can’t image not having nods. Must suck a lot.

I was over in Riga last week and the amount of russian I heard was kind of scary. How well is the russian population integrated?
having the russians on the other side of the border seems stressful enough already.
great beer, friendly people and good food 10/10 would stand in the airport security line behind a bunch of hungover Fins trying to finish off two bottles of vodka before they get to hand luggage scanners again for an other visit
