Split Lower Receivers - Getting Around Gun Control

Since ghost guns may soon become illegal, has anybody thought of split lower receivers? By split, I mean two parts that can't work as a lower receiver by themselves, but when placed together are able function as a lower receiver. This would essentially be a lower receiver split into two parts.

They'd just declare that both of those two parts are a firearm and both have to be serialized

The govt would pick one of the two parts and call it a "firearm" and make it serializable, like said.

The lower itself is already classified as a firearm, so what's stopping them from just doing that same thing again even if your lower is 2 or 20 pieces?

this doesn't make any sense. See the trigger pin holes and the selector holes? Wherever these are, that's the gun. If you split them all up, you'd have three guns.

      >See the trigger pin holes and the selector holes?
What if someone came up with a multipart kit where all you have to do is drill out the holes? They could even paint over the places you have to drill out and list the drill bit sizes.

People have been making receivers like that for decades. I first saw one on Geocities back around 1997. If you can find an archive of Geocities stuff, look up the user "elmgrove1765".

    CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:
AT WHAT POINT DOES A MATERIAL STOP BEING IN ONE PIECE? IS THE ABILITY TO PULL APART MEAN IT'S NOT A SINGULAR PIECE? THEN WHAT ABOUT A SHEET OF PAPER, YOU CAN PULL IT APART BUT NOT PUT BACK TOGETHER. WHAT ABOUT ALUMINUM FOIL? IF YOU ARE IN SPACE YOU CAN PULL IT APART AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND IT RE WELDS ITSELF SOLID PROVIDED YOU CLEANED IT FIRST (BIG PROBLEM FOR SPACECRAFT IS METAL COLD WELDING ITSELF OT OTHER PARTS) ARE MAGNETS ONE OR TWO PIECES WHEN CONNECTED? THEY SPLIT LIKE TWO BUT STAY AS ONE WHEN PUSHED TOGETHER. SAME WITH GAUGE BLOCKS HOLDING TOGETHER WITH THE STRENGTH OF THE SURROUNDING AIR PRESSURE. WHAT IS ONE OBJECT? WHAT ABOUT WEAK MATERIALS THAT CAN BE REFORMED BACK TOGETHER BY HAND LIKE PLAY DOUGH? IF MADE OF SANDSTONE IS EVERY GRAIN AN INDIVIDUAL PIECE OR IS THE COMPLETED OBJECT A SINGLE PIECE? I NEED ANSWERS! IS EVERY MOLECULE AN INDIVIDUAL PIECE THEREFORE A GUN CONTAINS NO GUN PARTS OR IS THE COLLECTION OF MOLECULES REFEREED TO AS A FIREARM? AT WHAT POINT DOES A PART STOP BEING A PART AND START BEING ATOMS? WHAT ABOUT ORIGAMI FIREARMS? ARE SHEETS OF PAPER GOING TO BE REGULATED BECAUSE CHINKS CAN MAKE A GUN OUT OF IT? WHAT ABOUT HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH FIBERS OR CABLE BEING WOVEN INTO PARTS LIKE THE CARBON FIBER BARRELS? WHAT ABOUT A TENSEGRITY STRUCTURE BASED FIREARM ABLE TO BE MADE BY HAND?
    >I NEED CLARIFICATION!

NEW THREAD QUESTION, WOULD IT BE A GOOD (TRASH) IDEA TO HAVE 9 CUSTOM CARTRIDGES SPLIT BETWEEN 3 CALIBERS (.467", .357", .243") AND 3 LENGTHS, (1" 2" AND 3") ALL SHARING THE SAME BOLT FACE, PRIMER, AND POWDER TYPE? PIC SEMI-RELATED.

ATF wants to start legislating uppers too. Get ya 3D printer and explosion proof tubing now.

Yeah, this is what ghost gunner 3 does, it cannot make the buffer tube hole and threads so they sell the receiver in 2 pieces and you have to buy the "totally not a receiver bro" from them
The ghost gunner 3 cannot make a receiver from scratch which is the entire basis that it is sold on lol
Here's your zero percent TOTALLY NOT A RECEIVER

Endless mixed feelings about Ghost Gunner.
      Overpriced, check. Underperforms, check.
Let's morons do what they should be doing on a mill but they're scared to learn, check.

I want to shit all over it, but at the same time they totally accomplished what they set out to do with it, and it does work, it does let morons who struggle with a P80 build to make parts they'd have no hope of otherwise.

I always want to scream about getting something much more capable for the money but I know it won't be a gun-toaster like what GG is trying to do.

If it was cheaper, significantly cheaper, I wouldn't even question it, great starting point for someone who's more focused on guns than they are the machine work behind it.

Is it even remotely possible to break even with a GG? You want to mill an AR lower you're paying $80 out of pocket just for their parts, plus the material you need for the body of it, on top of a $2500 machine.

Seems like a massive fricking waste when someone could buy an actual cheap-shit China-Mill that could make actual 0% lowers from chunks of aluminum, and the only trade-off that is they actually have to know how to use it.

It's hard to judge when I'm spoiled, I have good machines and plenty of tools, most of it older than Tanzania and inherited from family or recovered from old failed businesses.

I just can't get my head around actually buying and using a Ghost Gunner machine.

I thought the ghost gunner is a miniature milling machine that can turn any hunk of aluminum into a lower receiver. If it can't do that, then I don't think it's worth it at its current price point. The ATF could just their zero percent lower build kits illegal.

        >I thought the ghost gunner is a miniature milling machine that can turn any hunk of aluminum into a lower receiver
this is how they advertise is, and nobody makes any mention that it actually can't
it's funny you read reviews comments etc and nobody actually mentions that it cannot do a zero percent build when the entire thing is sold on the fact that it can supposedly do a zero percent build
it's honestly fricked up and scummy

Less than half the price gets you a shitty bench mill that actually can make lowers and various frames.

The Hazard Fraud version is less than $1000, the same one spec'd by other companies to be less shit can still be had for <$2k.

Comparing it to a Ghost Gunner, it's a swiss army knife next to an electric corkscrew.

2500 for a machine that can finish certain 80% frames, that's it.
