Specifically looking for a .40 in California

I was originally planning on finally getting a glock but I'm now getting a bit interested in the hk p2000. Does anyone have one that can compare how it is to the glock 22,23? I'd also wonder how the xd compares to the above.

Actual Californian here, this shit is trash. It's nice if you live on the coast so it doesn't get over 80 even in the middle of summer, otherwise it's Nevada but without the guns and legal prostitution, that is to say, horrible.

Only poors and Mexicans live in the Valley. And only subhumans live in SoCal. The state is great other than the fact it's full of liberal gays. About half of the men I know are good dudes. The rest deserve to swim in Arizona Bay.

But Cali and New York are the only first world+ states. Everywhere else in the country is literal 2nd world with some states like Missouri and south Dakota being 3rd world countries with lower gdp than some states in Mexico. Only California and New York suburbs are top tier with the biggest national parks and amenities. Also they're the only cities that can compete against 21st century top cities like Tokyo, Shanghai. Even Texas cities like Dallas and Houston are on par with 20th century cities like Paris France but lack infrastructure. I'm sorry but once you have suburbs

i hope you register it and its all legal anon.

the size of some cities like in Cali you don't go back.

as someone who lives in new york, a lot of state looks like shit. Beautiful nature, but in areas that were once industrial, where the industry left, it's very poor.

I lived in CA and live in NY. Both are shit, and I guarantee you've never been to the nice parts of any other state.

The nice parts of any other state don't have beaches and tiki bars.

The gayest thing is the ammo background check. I can't even buy birdshot without some gay knowing about it.

The P2K is infinitely more enjoyable in 9mm.
I'd tell you to get the USP 40 as it's probably the best .40 handgun ever made, but apparently they took it off of the register.

    Sucks to suck I guess

They can't keep ignoring the Ls the scotus keeps handing them. Something's going to break them sooner or later, and it will be glorious to see. My personal hope is that Newsom tard rages so hard he has a stroke on live tv.

If you're not limiting yourself to a compact, try the PX4 in .40. Maybe the CZ75 in 40 is good, but havent tried it.

I already have a px4 in 9mm and I don't really want to get the same gun.

I had a USP compact 40, it had a lot of flip compared to a Glock 23,
G23 w a conversion barrel is what I would do

Yeah I heard the P2000 flips more than some others too. I'd probably still buy it if HK wasn't trying to fleece me with their shitty price.

I always check GB and ARMSLIST for police trade in Sigs; and there’s one reseller who is in CA I think. Lots of P229 and P226 trade ins in .40.

Unironically. Shoots better than a Glock and doesn't look gay.

For questions like this that are simply a matter of preference. Go to the range and rent one for $10. My opinion is that I got a Glock 22 in 2015 or so, and only ever put probably 1000 rounds through it. So I'd advise against that. And whatever piece of kraut shit this is.

.40 S&W is gay. Get a 9mm. Maybe then you will at least have real options.

It's a solid pistol, though out of the handgun roster pistols the closest comparison to it is like the Px4 rather than any of the ones you described.

Get an M&P 2.0 in .40. Debate has already been settled. It shits on Glock & even HK in terms of reliability.

    https://desuarchive.org/k/thread/57937014/

I would go for 9 unless you're dead set on 40. Most agencies have switched over to 9mm. A lot of agencies in CA are actually switching to M&Ps and FNs, the big budgeted ones at least. Beverly Hills PD & LAPD switched to the FN509, Irvine PD and some other rich OC beach PDs use the M&P. I know because I'm looking for a new agency out here and autistically researching them. California seems to be moving away from the Glock since it's scary. Not because it's black and in rap songs but because it jams up during shootings. That POS shouldn't be on anybody's consideration list. The HK is fine but doesn't do the best on torture test, the M&P kills them.

Nice response, but the M&P 2.0 is not on the CA roster. LEOs are not subject to it and if OP had an in I'm sure he wouldn't need to preface his post. This a niche within a niche thread, so can't be helped.

I've got a few guns now. I just want something that eats .40 and does it the best within the confines of what I can actually buy. If I had the option, I'd get either a beretta 96 or USP. Although he aftermarket and and magazine proliferation of the glock is compelling. The gun isn't for home defense or carry or even as a range toy, although I could potentially use it as a carry gun.

There are some 96's on the roster including the Elite A1. Not sure how easy they are to find though.

Sheesh, this state is honestly fucking ridiculous and it makes me second guess serving here.

It's a bit rough, but a based man in a cringe place can make all the difference in the world.
