Probably, yeah. But he's going to be a bullet magnet looking like he's wearing people's skins or he'll be lord of the wasteland.

      I like those 50/50 odds.

    Follow his method.
    Make a few plates.
    Shoot them.
    ???
    Profit.

I recall seeing a video of a bulletproof mask being tested on a skull with ballistics gel, and the result was in fact scarier than just accepting death at that point.

The brain damage, skull deformation, everything was fricked.

Ballistic Gel skulls are moronic and absolutely do not simulate real heads, this has been proven many times over the years.

Would it help to have the mask not be resting directly against the skull and to have padding (green) that's bouncy and absorbs the blunt force?

        Anonymous

You'd actually want the padding to be fairly firm - anything bouncy would just get compressed by the force of the bullet without absorbing any worthwhile amount of energy and then it might as well not be there at all.

Of course the big downside of moving the mask forwards like that is that you have to make either make the eyeholes huge or say goodbye to anything sort of peripheral vision.

Yeah you'd want to adjust the bounciness to a level where it does absorb but not just give way for the mask to fly at your face. Would it redirect the energy more if you attached it to your helmet with a hinge? Like the bullet is coming straight at you, but the hinge is the connection point, so it "changes" the trajectory of the force being applied to your head? You'd intuitively feel the hinge would eat up some of the force here but it would probably be prone to breaking too.

Fiberglass armor is one of the oldest forms of "modern" (Post-WWI) armor.
There are companies that sell it to this day, like RMA Armament. It is shit-tier compared to better options, but it works.
Enough fiberglass will definitely stop a bullet.

He embedded ceramic plates in the mask with a spall liner, that's what the patterning is.

    >buy cheass chinese garbage plates from wish.
    >buy cheapass kevlar from amazon
    >layer kevlar over plates and either seal with resin or thin layer of hdpe
Stopped every pistol round ive thrown at them with little to no deformation. Didnt fare too well against 7.62x39 and i dont own a shotgun so i cant test buckshot.
Either way if some redneck with 50 bucks can turn Chinese garbage into functional level 2 (it stopped a few 10mm shots so im not sure what classification that is) armor i dont see why you cant make your own just fine. A shitload of kevlar or fiberglass layers seems to be the preferred method.

He supposedly followed a design that was already tested.

probably, always thought it'd be a neat idea to layer a bunch of stuff to make homemade armor, like making some modular vest with two layers of acryllic soaked cloth with a gap in the middle to fill with and replace ceramic tiles

Pretty sure this guy was posting here too, or at least someone was posting his shit here.
He looks absolutely terrifying. Like some kind of fricked up sentient machine trying it's best to become human.
    Some real uncanny valley shit.

you're the guy, aren't you anon? stop fishing for attention and just make it, then shoot it on camera and make some more. do it for yourself, not for us, especially not here ffs 80% of the dipshits on this board don't even own a gun. /k/ opinions are entirely irrelevant, make your own way, take pride in the work even when it fails, ESPECIALLY when it fails because that only means you have room to improve and make it better than it was before.

Why does it have bumps like an inside out golf ball?
I appreciate that homeboy is doing his best and using his noggin but his thought process has no room for aesthetics beyond functional horror.
