Soldiers on steroids?

Pic related is the reason everyone is so upset about the army switching to a caliber larger than 5.56 for the NGSW program.
Would putting soldiers on steroids fix this problem?

We need dual wielding shoulder mounted M134's on motorized gimbals with 11.5in 300blk barrels with integrated suppression. A helmet mounted sighting system with target tracking for l337h4x aimbot 360 noscoping.

But in all seriousness this would be unfrickingbelievable in CQB.

i dont get why we dont have a blitzkrieg company that is just full of soldiers we pump full of steroids and give them stims
i know 2 people in the marines that only joined because they didnt give a shit about their life and just wanted to kill legally, they would be perfect for it

while putting soldiers on steroids would be incredibly beneficial to their immediate performance, that would entail adding a MASSIVE logistical problem. along with providing hyooge amounts of drugs for soldier, theyre sensitive to how theyre stored and if theres a break in supply there would be a disproportionate drop in performance.
as well as designing effective steroid cycles for everyone would require an incredible amount of medical oversight unless you want insane side effects from the majority of soldiers.
thats not even mentioning the facts that there are undoubtedly life changing consequences and not everyone would want to accept that.

              1.) Stop samegayging, and
2.) You're too stupid to reply correctly, probably because you took too many loud noises to the head when you were in the army kekekekek

              Bonus:
3.) Your insinuation that I look like Jerry Seinfeld is pretty lame. Not only are you stupid, but you can't even insult someone correctly (Jerry Seinfeld is actually quite handsome).

Tons of combat arms dudes use roids because 99% of them do not show up on a standard "hey surprise b***h" Urinalysis test and no rifle company commander with half a brain would think "hey, my guys are all getting stronger, more motivated and more aggressive. I need to request an order for an expensive UA that specifically tests for steroids". The only way guys get booted from the military (at least, in the army) for roids is if they're either A: a massive shitbag that everyone hates and so the CO is looking for a reason to kick him to the curb, or B: a third party investigation is happening (think battalion/regiment/brigade level health and welfare inspection) and they catch the dude with roids in his room or ass.

So technically yes, steroids are a nogo in the military, but in practice they really aren't.

At least with the Navy, the standard drug test only goes for the usual suspects (weed, coke, opiates, meth).

The one for steroids is different and has to be directed specifically by the CO.

What a conundrum we have here folks. I mean, it's not as if the .308 Winchester, or even more improbable that the 30-06 was commonly used in military service rifles.

Even if the caliber difference is minimal.
    .223" vs .308"

It's not even a big deal. Calibre means next to nothing for small arms combat and when it does meant something, bigger is better as shown in Disney's famous film in Sweden, Black Hawk Down.
I thought fire superiority was the name of the game for infantry, 5.56 was light and small, easier to gain fire superiority in a firefight.

        Chemical imbalances bro
Taking steroids for a while means your body becomes reliant on the steroids for testosterone, your balls shrink because they don't need to produce T anymore and when you stop taking them your body lacks T and has an imbalance of estrogen.

Endurance is a lot more important than strength for infantry. I guess it might help some 13B or something but regular cardio would probably do them all a lot better.

  20. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

Everyone in the teams is on gear and they still prefer 556 over battle rifles for anything within 100 yards because it provides the least muzzle rise ie the fastest splits while maintaining adequate lethality. If we put everyone on gear they’d just shoot faster splits. Recoil isn’t a problem because it’s unpleasant; it only matters to the extent it increases split times, and this changes in a scalable way according to the gun handling ability of the operator.
