        But it was a Malaysia aircraft anon and not a military one either. And while the truth was fully shown after a two year investigation, Russia had the fig leaf of "separatists" and "conflict zone" and "confusion" at the time, as well as less general condemnation period.

        Shooting down a French AF jet at this stage with fighter aircraft over international waters would be a massive escalation over that.
