Russia can't equip and feed another million men. They can't train them to fight effectively in any reasonable timeframe either.
And the Russian people support the war as long as they don't need to participate in it.

not much. Russia isn't at war, and has what it needs to hold eastern Ukraine. If zelensky didn't escalate since day 0, it might have meant less dead Ukranians, but we're a bit past the point where that seems to matter. After all, every dead Ukranian is an innocent life saved.

I think the announcement is supposed to be released in just over an hour.

He will declare war and mobilise. However without training units anymore, those conscripts are not going to make a difference on the battlefield.

If they were smart, they wouldn't put the mobilized conscripts into combat, only let them do logistics and stuff. Spread the depots out, camouflage them better, make the job harder for HIMARS. Free contractniks and volunteers for combat jobs. That would help tremendously already and free up volunteers for combat jobs.
Of course, russians are not smart and even if they were it wouldn't change much either, the damage already done to the russian armed forces is probably too great.

The Russian ministry of defense presented evidence in Geneva proving that the US has military-biological activity in Ukraine, radiation, chemical, and biological defense of the Russian armed forces chief Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov said Monday.

Kirillov noted that on Russia's initiative, a conference of the Biological Weapons Convention was held in Geneva between September 5-9 in response to the US and Ukrainian violations of Articles I and IV.

According to the Russian defense official, members of other delegations had no doubts about the authenticity of the submitted documents.

Russia sent in late July a formal request for a consultation meeting of the party states to the Biological Weapons Convention after it provided the states with documents proving how the US was funding a network of biological laboratories in Ukraine.

Russia's Ambassador to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, said during a UN Security Council meeting that Moscow would activate Articles 5 and 6 of the Biological Weapons Convention BWC to investigate the Biolabs in Ukraine.

The head of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing said there are more than 300 US-funded civilian and military biological laboratories in the world, hinting that they are particularly concentrated in Ukraine.

      >what will it change
not much. Russia isn't at war, and has what it needs to hold eastern Ukraine. If zelensky didn't escalate since day 0, it might have meant less dead Ukranians, but we're a bit past the point where that seems to matter. After all, every dead Ukranian is an innocent life saved.

He's not mobilizing, but somebody realized there are about 250k conscripts just sitting in base tugging their puds while Wagner empties the prisons. However, they can't be deployed outside of Russia during peacetime, and Putin can't declare war because this conflict identifies as a special military operation. So, I presume after some krokodil addled FSB agent read it on /chug/, he had the great idea to suggest "let's just make Ukraine part of Russia, then we can send our conscripts there." Now an army of gaping-ass conscripts with no training is getting ready to turn the tide in Russia's favor once and for all.

Kettle: superheated, eyebrows: orbiting Earth, NATO: complete comprehension, panic: respecfully declined

      > He's not mobilizing, but somebody realized there are about 250k conscripts just sitting in base tugging their puds while Wagner empties the prisons.
Activating those troops for war is the definition of mobilizing. Don’t confuse that term with a crackdown on draft dodgers on an increase in the draft quota to increase the size of the conscript army.

        Anonymous

Mobilizing would typically imply calling up reserves and sending out drafts notices. At the very least it would mean declaring war so conscripts can be deployed. Putin is trying to avoid all of that by making Ukraine Russia and thus a legal area for conscripts to be in.

          Anonymous

They already DO send out draft notices. That’s what having a conscription means. They just have two armies: one volunteer one and one conscript one for défense only. 90% of draftees in Russia currently dodge it. Anyways even if they didn’t the quotas aren’t high enough to take them all.

The speech is a nothingburger, mobilisation is a nothingburger. Even muh nooks are a nothingburger because russia is already attempting to do essentially that by shelling nuclear power plants. No one is going to rebel against the russian authorities, there is no tipping point, and russia is never going to win by conventional means, only by chimping out even more than they have to date, which will be retarded and immoral orders dutifully carried out by the criminals of the russian armed forces.

TASS, September 20. Leadership of Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as liberated Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions made a decision Tuesday to hold referendums on accession to the Russian Federation in response to address of the civil movements. The vote in all four regions will take place on September 23-27.

Donbass is interested in the legitimacy of the accession referendum procedure, and in their approval by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS, LPR envoy to Russia Rodion Miroshnik said Tuesday. Representatives of the media, including foreign ones, will be invited to the referendum, and the regions also requested organizational aid from Russia and other states.

According to a phone poll, carried out by the National Institute for Opinion Surveys and Marketing (INSOMAR) on September 19 among 4,000 respondents, LPR’s accession is supported by 83% of residents, DPR’s accession is backed by 80%, while 72% and 65% of respondents favor accession in Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions, correspondingly.

To give an idea of how bad things are in Russia right now, I have a neighbor from there who said the best car he can get for US$20K is a locally made sedan with no airbags, gearbox or proper infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.

For comparison, $18k in Thailand will get you a 2023 Toyota Vios with a 360 camera view, 6 airbags, advanced cruise control and options for both CarPlay and Android Auto.

    That's just funny to me.

On the night of September 21, Ukrainian troops once again fired at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, damaging the communication equipment of one of the power units. Energoatom reports.

"At 01:13, as a result of another shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP by Ukrainian army, the communication equipment of power unit No. 6 with the ZNPP open switchgear was damaged," the report says.

It is noted that as a result of the attack, the block transformer and auxiliary transformers of the power unit were disconnected. Due to the loss of power, an emergency start-up of two diesel generators of the safety systems occurred to ensure the operation of the fuel cooling pumps.

Is this the ultimate "I was just playing a retard"?

I was being genuine, but I'm usually genuine and don't get 1/4th that kind of engagement.

I suppose you being a complete retard on the subject brings the engagement up.

Come on, this is PrepHole, the weapons forum, and several months after the invasion, the catalog is still full of threads promoting the same views as the mainstream media and politicians.

Be real, there aren't tons of Mosin–Nagant and 10mm fans starting threads with Monke putin. This is contrived, and I'm probably getting (you)s from people paid to be here.

Being real with you, saying retarded shit like "Ukraine+Russia" were never attacked when they were together is such a retarded thing to say, you either must be fishing for yous or simply retarded.

I asked: what actually happens if we stop advancing NATO to Russia's boarder? They've been complaining about it for decades, its disturbing the peace, what's the consequence of stopping?

              >Tell me, what happens if we stop trying to push NATO to their door step?

Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Georgia, Moldova, Poland, possibly Romania and Bulgaria would be attacked.

Says eastern European countries get attacked

              >(3)
However, since the fall of Communism, Russia hasn't started shit with those countries. They weren't invading when NATO was further away, and now that NATO is very close, they're saying give us at least one neutral buffer state or there will be trouble.

So far, I'm not seeing the negative consequence to cutting off that Zelenski leech, leaving Ukraine out of NATO, and stopping this geo-political chess game in Eastern Europe.

What the fuck is a "partial" mobilisation?
Will the government just quietly bump it up to "full" mobilisation over time?

Damn it you figured out Putin's secret plan.
Off to the frontlines with you.

Considering Russia has obligatory military service, they just need to stretch the definition of "military experience" to fit their needs.

When you think about it every mobilisation is a partial one 🙂

Its probaly just full mobilisation of the reserves but worded like this to keep ruskies from revolting, if there is a small chance that they are not personally affected the russian will put up with a lot of bullshit. (Until they suddenly are send to the front/gulag, and then its too late)
