Nah even if its shit its still going to be researched heavily. Tailoring your weapons to specifically defeat these systems means China, India, Turkey and the Middle East/Africa is perma fricked.

Well yeah, that's a given. I'm saying that will be the final result.

True but its kind of incredible how fricked the Bricks nations are from this miscalculation. Almost all of their technology has been entirely undermined and they were already in a bad position beforehand.

Yeah, uh, little problem here: Afaik the Russians didn't ever export this. Neither to India nor Turkey nor the Middle east.

And the Chinese have been developing their own systems since before you were born.

Still want to get my hands on a SU57 and 75 though. I want to see what a budget stealth fighter consists of.

why would you want to inspect a wooden mockup of a non-existent airplane?

          >budget stealth fighter
It would be just a wood plane , which absorbs all the radar signals.

        Anonymous

what was the story with that one? The defecting pilot and reverse engineering revealed the feared speed it could go was impractically limited and the engine eats itself if pushed?

Yep. It was also presumed to be primarily aluminum rather than a heavy steel brick.

Is there any C&C or EWAR equipment that hasn't been captured during this war? This war has probably undermined the capabilities of any non western military.

Probably audit CIA why they were so horrible at predicting Russian capabilities

      The CIA did their job.
The audit should be on the three-letter agencies concerned with nation security who have been snoozing since 1999.

This. They may have known that the capabilities of ruskies were shite, but they shouldn't take that for granted and stop innovation or striving to do better.

      >horrible at predicting Russian capabilities
With all you have seen, how can you still even entertain the idea that glowBlack folk didn't have accurate information?
They knew it all along and very well. Shit goes like this:
      >All intel points to Russia being a paper tiger
      Classify the intel.
      >Big board meeting comes up
Say shit's classified, exaggerate and make some shit up
      >Get the budget everyone ever wanted and then some
Push in the media another fantasy hardware russians came up with and cry how we can't counter it
      >another board meeting
      Rinse and repeat.

when I used to work at Raytheon we would get countless posts on every social media outlet about how 'muh russian supersonic missiles' were superior in every way from bot accounts with english names. I assumed they were russian bots but now it's pretty clear they were likely western agents attempting to get more funding for more projects

Given how much shit they've lost in the last 36hr Russia is beginning to surpass the US as the biggest donor of weapons
Balaklliya seems to have a heap of fairly modern stuff there with basically no one to run it. Lots of good condition it looked like SPG Howitzers and some pretty new-ish 82-A BTR's

I heavily doubt the ukrainians are going to really utilize much of it for too long. The longer this conflict drags out, the more and more ukraine's MIC is going to be built up by NATO handouts.

Until then you've got to rock with the wiener you got. Dunno if the Russians can tell the difference between 155 and 152mm landing on them
Plus you can never have enough stuff like ammo, heavy machineguns, grenades, rpg rounds etc and whatever else is just at-hand on an offensive action

didnt they capture one a few weeks into the war?

Given the general state of battlefield salvage in general and Russian equipment in particular, a second example is probably a good idea, since they'll have different pieces broken/missing/stolen, and having another will help solidify what the thing is capable of when everything is working.

marginal value of the new one is still pretty low. the one they captured near kiev was still on the way to the front. it was about as minty fresh as one could imagine.
