They'll partake in the Russian civil war, of course.

Probably this, if we're lucky, this whole war will just be foreplay for the actual shitshow.

We are in the middle of the slow motion civil war caused by the collapse of the Soviet Union and have been for some time. Russia has been locked in conflict with almost every other former Soviet Republic for decades at this point, ranging from trying to control their internal politics and foreign policy to frozen conflicts to the occasional hot war. There is a consistent logic and interconnected strategy of revanchism behind all of it.

          >in the middle of the slow motion civil war caused by the collapse of the Soviet Union and have been for some time
That's a good observation. I've felt it before, but those words crystalize it.

I think that "we" ("theworld") had about 10 to 12 years where it could have gone either way. But the post-9/11 years & Georgia sort of locked us into this timeline. There's still a remote chance to switch tracks yet, but those options are getting severely limited. We got major major shit like climate change already fricking us in the ass.

Time to deal with this shit is getting severely short.

I'm a fan of formally balkanizing the former vatnikstan into Territorial Protectorates, which will be granted independence votes in 50 years. Each Territory gets three UN members as Sponsors, one from the Permanent Security Council and two other UN members in good standing. Responsibilities get spread across the widest reasonable number of countries that can participate and contribute with significance.

But a complete Detoxification Program needs to be implemented, and all Indigenous Peoples recognized as the territories are identified and defined.

One modification: 1914 Ukraine borders. No negotiation. Those are the minimum reparations at this point. vatnikstan doesn't get any "inheritance rights" to stolen property the USSR invaded and occupied.

19-fricking14 borders, people. Other negotiation options have expired. vatniks need to evacuate from occupied Ukrainian clay. Immediately or sooner.

only ten more years to go then the prophecy will be fulfilled as foretold. Just behind 30 more years until commercial fusion and two weeks until the next happening

civil war is a bit much. Wont be until actual military units are shooting each other inside vatnikstan to find out who is the real Russia and the next great tzar worthy of Stalins side (their idol emperor).

But it is very true vatniks have been trying to restore their precious empire ever since things settled in Moscow during the 90s

Yep. Sometime last March or April I started suggesting Colonel Potato is cooked. Belarus salad on the table next ... just, that, Since then, I've been amazed how vatnikstan keeps tripping over puddles of their own piss. It's been a clown circus that I can't remember ever hearing of in all of human history.

Can anyone post any examples of any failure (political, cultural &/or military?) in all of human history? This one befuddles me.

I don't know, anymore, is Belarus will Some Color Revolution next? or will The Former vatnik Federation Civil War next? It's literally a race to the bottom here.

I'm really rooting for a Free Belarus, guys. Help me out here. They really deserve it. Let's find a way to help Free Belarus. It's the Human Thing to do. There's a lot of Belarusians fighting in Ukraine. That fricking means something. Among a lot of other shit happening.

Some of them will try to fight Russia. Others will just settle in Ukraine.
It's likely that the Ukraine-Russia war doesn't have a complete end and there will be a long-running conflict zone restricted to certain areas much like it was in Donbas between 2014 and 2021.

I would not be in the least bit surprised if the Belarusian units pull a reverse little green men operation backed by Ukie glowies against Colonel Potato.
