      >it's nothing
obviously not, but what are the grand prizes of the black sea fleet?

Adm Makarov / the Grigorovich class
      The remaining present Kilo subs
The landing ships, although I guess only the Alligator & Minsk class are definitely still active
Maybe some of the corvettes from the 41st?

Hard to say what the juiciest targets are really.

ukies constantly hit the refineries and fuel storage around Novorossiysk

i don't know why they aren't hitting the ships and subs there

        Anonymous

I would say the Kilo class subs are a lower priority since they were originally built in shipyards Russia still possess. Sadly they don't have the luxury of destroying some of the larger vessels that were only built in Ukraine shipyards during the days of the USSR.

You know whats funny? Black sea is extremely toxic below 150 meters so theres no life to degrade shipwrecks, before the war they frequently found shipwrecks from roman times

What it means is that half the black sea fleet will be down there untouched, pristine, down to the scorch marks from the missile hits, for humanity to enjoy and make memes out of for thousands of years to come

              >April 2024
              >Leo Docherty Minister of State, Minister for the Armed Forces, responded:
              >“We estimate that approximately 450,000 Russian military personnel have been killed or wounded, and tens of thousands more have already deserted since the start of the conflict. The number of personnel killed serving in Russian private military companies (PMCs) is not clear.
              >We also estimate that over 10,000 Russian armoured vehicles, including nearly 3,000 main battle tanks, 109 fixed wing aircraft, 136 helicopters, 346 unmanned aerial vehicles, 23 naval vessels of all classes, and over 1,500 artillery systems of all types have been destroyed, abandoned, or captured by Ukraine since the start of the conflict.”

According to fellow villagers, after that Yerofeyeva immediately turned pale and slowly settled on the ground. Health Minister Yervand Khidishyan and Deputy Governor Valentina Ulich rushed to the pensioner. However, she died on the spot.

The fewer Russian ships they have to track the easier it is to identify enemy vessels. Soon even the lowest level Russian surveillance troops will be able to instantly confirm than a target is the enemy.

Well, it is russian black sea navy that keeps ukraine from landing in crimea. So of russian black sea navy gets wiped ukraine will have a free reign over crimea

                >ukraine from landing in crimea
                1) Ukraine has no navy, what would it land with.
                2) The thing stopping anyone from touching crimea are 300km range anti ship missiles and 400km range anti air missiles stationed on the unsinkable peninsula itself.

Russia isn't even blocking the grain shipments with boats, their missiles guarantee it, the boats just do inspections. The greatest navy in the world just bent their knee to Yemenis because they can hit ships with missiles from yemen itself.

I don't think you understand how landing ops work, landing soldiers is not even 1% of the effort. Most of it is how to supply the soldiers you land past the dozen rifle magazines they bring with them.

                >You mean the things ukraine has also been happily deleting from crimea?
If they were gone, why wouldn't Ukrainian jets fly over Crimea? Destroying some elements doesn't mean anything, see

No you idiot, it's the only legitimate ask.

If Ukraine expends all it's bullets tomorrow to magically kill 1 Russian per platoon, it doesn't affect the war, because the change isn't big enough in any region Ukraine can affect to make a breakthrough. The expenditure of all those bullets is a waste.

Expending missiles to sink ships that don't affect the war, is a waste of a missile. Expending missiles to hit rear-area SAM that Ukraine can't fly jets over anyway, is a waste of a missile. If those missiles struck a Russian base in Bakhmut, and Ukrainians poured into the breach, and retook the city, it would affect the war and I would be suitably impressed.

I'm childish enough to be impressed by propaganda strikes that aren't part of any larger plan and have no effect on the war, ymmv.

I wonder if the Russians were allowed to keep their navy intact would they have fire more cruise missiles at Ukraine or launched a land invasion of Odesa. Nah none of that is important because it is a "ground war".

What are the permissible losses of your fleet to a country without navy?
Personally, I am of the opinion, that up to 75% is acceptable, though 90% doesn't seem unreasonable too.

99%. If your enemy has no navy, your navy is basically as good as worthless. Basically glorified missile launchers.

I will NOT respond to people who mention ramps.
