So, how does picrel work?

So, how does picrel work? They don't seem to require batteries, so how does the laser sight or whatever stay active the entire time? How is it calibrated so that the bullet actually goes where the dot shows it will go? Are they mostly a meme, or are they required with modern day PMCs?

let me answer your question, then you can delete this abortion of a thread
            >So, how does picrel work?
they work by bouncing the light from a small LED off of the semi-reflective glass back into your eye. it roughly matches an imaginary straight line going straight forward
            >They don't seem to require batteries, so how does the laser sight or whatever stay active the entire time?
they do require batteries. shitty chink optics like the one you posted usually run off of little coin cells, better optics like aimpoints etc. use L1/3N, CR123, or AA batteries.
            >How is it calibrated so that the bullet actually goes where the dot shows it will go?
you have to zero the optic. You go shoot, adjust the point of aim using the adjustment worm screws, and repeat until point of aim matches point of impact. most optics have parallax that reduces accuracy, in high quality optics, the parallax is the size of the objective lens
            >Are they mostly a meme, or are they required with modern day PMCs?
they are extremely useful depending on what you are doing. they're not a meme. they also allow for shooting with both eyes open without much training to do so. They are not "required" unless a they are part of SOP for a police department, PMC, or unit.

the Aimpoint PRO (and others) have two pieces of glass in front and back the optic tube. The tube is airtight and purged with nitrogen to eliminate condensation. the emitter is between the front and back glass. Most red dots are the same. The exception is holographic sights but that explanation takes too long. exposed emitter red dots are insanely cheap to produce but usually dogshit chinese crap. C-More and the EKP-1S-03M Kobra are the exception to this rule

I'm a fan of the Mepro M21 too, but that thing is insanely heavy for what it is

no experience with that one but it reminds me of the ITL mars and all of the Steiner abandonware shit of the 90's where I'm sure it's really good but doesn't do anything that a bomb-proof $400 PRO doesn't do. the non-american GWOT operator aesthetic is undeniable though

I'm not sure how it works mechanically, but I've seen footage of one in action so I can describe it in operation.
Ok so basically the machine starts up, shoots a laser close to her head. She gets scared and starts shaking. She ducks down low but the lasers pick her up and spread her to an x formation. The laser rips her clothes. It then peels her skin a bit. The back part of the machine sticks her pack then the other part starts pulling her then it skins her from her back. She's basically all ripped up but still in one piece until she starts vomiting.
What an awful way to die. Hopefully no PMCs or militaries are using this thing, it's a clear violation of the Geneva Conventions.

You fricking dumb cheap piece of shit. I had a friend who bought this turd in 2019. He loved showing it off. I gathered a group of like 8 buddies all mutual friends and took him shooting just for max humiliation. He would never listen to my words about quality and durability etc. Well that fricking stupid piece of shit dot lasted all of 5 rounds. That was it, it probably broke at round 3 but at round 5 it was broken broken noticeably. The 8 other people laughing was enough for bud to never talk about it again. That's what you do to stupid people who won't listen to you, literally just take them shooting till their piece of shit dies. The bigger their lie the bigger the mockery or smaller but disperse it through several people. Create several witnesses, now they cannot lie to anyone and especially not to themselves. Anyways frick you loser.

NTA, but I had no friends to warn me this PAN AV clone would have its tap stripped and battery cap launched into the ceiling. A gunsmith actually said it was a Chinese POS, but I thought he was just trying to FUD more shekels out of me, which isn't entirely unfounded a suspicion about his character because the Boomer only told me that after agreeing to zero it
