scar like rifles are the future? i don't like them.

I'd say that it's more like an ACR: it's got QD barrels, the bolt release is similar, and the stock is definitely following the ACR's lead. The ability to convert between bullpup and conventional layouts is unique though.

        Anonymous

Bolt carrier shape is nearly identical, yes it shares a lot of similarities to the ACR, far more than it does to the SCAR. However, you need a torque wrench to reinstall a barrel so I wouldn't exactly call that QD. (ACR QD barrel was a meme anyway and added too much weight for no benefit.)

          Anonymous

QD barrels in general are a meme for any rifle that splits into an upper and lower.

            Anonymous

They're honestly a meme in general, just switch rifles. No need for extra complexity, less accuracy, and barrels flying out.

The SCAR was an ACR copy, and an ugly one to boot. The future is bullpup now that they've been perfected. Something like the MSBS or MDRX. The MSBS is a great concept because it comes in both forms, so a sniper that doesn't need a shorter barrel can opt for the grandpa stock configuration.

first, sorry i thought you meant 762x39

second, if you that desperately want something in 762 NATO, don't expect it to be the size of modern assault rifle, get an old FAL or G3 or something those things are actually good still

third, Bren 2s are deffinetly sold to civilians in both 556 and 762 soviet. Your gun brokers are just idiots. But then again, i'm from chzech, so brokers here dont have to bother with inport/export shit. They are at around 2 553 EUR straight from CZ-UB and other brokers i just googled. In USA they are sold at around 2000 dollars, altho those are pistol version or whatever the frick that abomination is.

bren 2 can be found in 5.56 and 7.62 soviet here, it's only 7.62NATO that is not available and i don't mind the size of the rifle.
so my option is only the APC308 from B&T or get an imported SCAR-H for 10k€ from switzerland, and no i don't want to hear about the robinson arms XCR that shit is just an overpriced AK

all the states and manufacturers are literally dumping all their old inventories
it will be so much fun for gun historians to trace those guns, kind of like everyone send everything they had to russia during WWI and from there to every satelite state around the world during cold war
kind of like finding StG 44, captured by soviets in germany, send to vietnam as military aid, captured by americans from vietkong and brought to USA (true story that one)

One could probably loot some cool shit and ship it back. I'm sure lots of it will go missing or be sold after the war is over. Make note and be ready to get your near equipment. If I were a eurogay I'd drive over there and see if any hohols wanna sell their now unneeded guns when the war ends.

        338 Lapua is outdated?

This is all likely stuff that our special forces has tested and doesn't need anymore.

          Anonymous

M8 it took 40 years for the army to move on from the 5.56 shitfest.
SF have used it, but the marginal improvement (40% extra effective range) is hardly worth justifying full rearmament.
Generally, they either use the 338 they already have or a 50 bmg.

            Anonymous

There's Luke 8 different .338 rounds, please specify. I'm assuming you mean Lapua because it's one of the SF sniper calibers. It has excellent ballistics and achieves what it's designed for, but the best all around remains .300 win mag due to lessened recoil compared to .338 Lapua, .300 Norma mag, and .338 Norma mag. That's what closeted homosexual child killer Chris Kyle used, for what it's worth. Mainly I think nobody wants to lug around the heavy ass rifles needed to shoot .338L or .50BMG, that's a big consideration. .300WM already shoots as far as the modern scope can see, why carry more weight?

              Anonymous

              >already shoots as far as the modern scope can see
And honestly most designated marksmen are just using .308, because it achieves the above. But when someone really wants to reach out, stay shooting flat, and cut wind drift, it's either .300WM or .338 Lapua they go with if they wanna carry that heavy ass rifle around.

              Anonymous

Why 338 norma > lapua, really? I'm uninformed but I thought it was generally preferred due to not needing as big an ejection port or something..

                Anonymous

They are uninformed or poor fanbois.
338LM is the caliber of choice when stepping down from a 50.

There is really only 1 useful 338 and thats the LM. I am not even going to go through why the modern scope can see further than 1400 yards, and why 2000 yard shot happen OFTEN.

                Anonymous

I wouldn't worry about it, they're both $5 a round. For Special forces obviously thay doesn't matter, but for a civilian that's extremely important to how much they can actually train and stockpile. 300WM is around $1.50 a round and reaches out as far as you'll need to touch.

They are uninformed or poor fanbois.

Yeah I don't need to shoot that far and neither do you. If you want to, go join a war and be a big bad sniper with this immense amount of knowledge you have. I'll keep worrying about civilian practicality only.

Nobody talked about war conditions. If you don't want to shoot far that your choice, but it is beyond the point. Go shoot a 5.56 with a reddot, who cares? Civilians don't have practicality for anything except maybe a pistol. If you are talking about SHTF I guarantee you, you want to be as far as possible. If you are talking about hunting, the same goes.
