So apparently instead of 500 HIMARS Poland is getting hundreds of Korean systems with 200km range and ability to fire Korean Iskander equivalent.
So apparently instead of 500 HIMARS Poland is getting hundreds of Korean systems with 200km range and ability to fire Korean Iskander equivalent.
Has the system been demonstrated anywhere yet? Is it still on the drawing board?
It's been in service since 2013, and already exported to the UAE Army.
>exported to the UAE Army
lol that's never a good sign!
The Chunmoo is FRICKING UGLY.
I hope that the Poles will replace the truck with an indigineous truck if they get the launchers.
Also, the chunmoo is basically an M270 on wheels.
They would be mounted on a Jelcz, as would HIMARS units.
What the frick are you talking about? Chunmoo screams SOVL you homosexual vatBlack person.
It just needs a new paint job
Chunmoo is what HIMARS would be without C-130 airmobility requirements, which is fine for Poland
It just isn’t very good.
Says who?
Combat record. LOL
Who says it’s good. It’s never seen combat or been exported outside of Korea
The UAE has 12 on order.
because it fires the same missiles from the same container with the same databus as M270 and HIMARS
It's literally just an M270 box on a truck. It can launch the M31A1 "wunderwaffe" GMLRS missile like any other compatible platform. It's the same fricking missile, you're mad about a truck chassis.
It’s shaped like an m270. It fires Korean missiles made copies of western rockets. Only 12 systems have been sold to date
>using "wunderwaffe" unironically when discussing a missile the US makes thousands of per year (almost ten thousand)
It's standard for vatBlack folk, anything they can't build is a wunderwaffe.
It's a truck with a mrls on the back, bro. No need to make it hi speed low drag. It's also probably better then this korean mrls (pic related)
He cute
They will most likely still buy some HIMARS, the main issue is domestic production of rockets and the licensing associated with that.
How the frick is Poland, which is in a recession, going to pay for this?
They are (not so) secretly being subsidized by the US and EU to be Europe's bulwark against Russia.
For example, Poland is paying $4.592M per M1A2 SEPv3 while they normally cost $9M each, see below.
https://www.gdls.com/abrams-poland-fms-contract/
>subsidized
nice word there moron. The m1A2 SEPv3 doesn't cost anything to build because we don't make new tanks. Those tanks are being converted from M1A2 SEPv2 hulls/turrets. The costs are considerably smaller than building a brand new tank.
Lima makes new tanks you fricking moron, these are new build tanks not the ex-USMC 116 M1A1 SA's that are planned to be upgraded to SEPv3 for Poland.
>250 M1A2 SEPv3
What the frick, Poland is going to have the best land army in Europe? Hot damn. When will they get them? Are they already training? Will the US be helping in training? I love how Russia invading Ukraine is making people realize that they might need a military.
Even if you're in NATO so you know help is coming, do you want to let some imperialistic moron invade, damage your country and kill your people while you sit there with a thumb up your ass waiting for the big dawgs to show up? Very happy with this situation. I hope the Russian Navy hits a SK or Japanese boat.
All the Polish procurement is mapped up to 2030, with prosuction of most systems being offset to Poland from 2025.
Poles are already training on M1A2SEPV2 tanks to become familiar with SEPV3
>to be Europe's bulwark against Russia
Indeed, the position west Germany had till 1991.
What recession? Poland has solid 5% growth.
Polish 'recession' is growth down from 8% last quarter to 5%
truly the green island
That's a hoax, tho. Libtards pulled the creative accounting to make GDP look it was positive.
That looks incredibly made up.
It's from 2008
it sounds about right for 2008.
No price is too small to pay after katyn
They can't. It's all sabre rattling bullshit
I am now utterly demoralized.
Good morning, I'm John Smith from New York district, and we should stop to provoke Mr. Putin, and give up on Europe, which is rightful Russian clay, if we want to prevent Russian Federation from reclaiming Alaska from us.
germoney is paying
Europe is paying, that means Germany, France and Italy basically.
Also one should be aware that PiS will not be at the top forever, it's possible some of the contracts get reworked soon.
I have no doubt that there are bribes involved, there always are when the sums are that large, which will be the basis for the next government to maybe even cancel some contracts.
My boy, how do you know it's not better? They have Juche. Everything is possible in Juche >;^)
>Oy vey, it's that redditor with an anger issue again.
>Europe is paying, that means Germany, France and Italy basically.
they are not paying for shit
>Europe is paying
Poland gets zero money for the weapons. EU is helping with millions of refugees they get from Ukraine but even then Poland pays billions to take care of them.
They are ruled by a nationalistic and reactionary government that constantly pisses off the EU. They aren't think straight.
>reactionary
These ebil nazis dare oppose the great new russian world
I think you're lost you moronic homosexual
>t. Ass mad homosexual
Poland emptied pretty much their entire inventory for Ukraine, the US is rewarding them with free shit to replace it.
Governments can pay for anything if they continue to function.
>Poland, which is in a recession
Q1 2022: +8.5%
Q2 2022: +5.3%
https://tradingeconomics.com/poland/gdp-growth-annual
Better growth than China.
Germanon here, I will pay for it.
Basado eterno Tudesco.
American here, I will pay for it
Recession doesn't affect government spending. It's private growth. Tax revenue is typically pretty consistent during recessions.
>Tax revenue is typically pretty consistent during recessions.
how do you expect to keep constant tax revenue when people are earning less (PIT), companies are selling less (CIT) and people are buying less (VAT)?
Special operation to liberate Belarus, and then Moscow, and st Petersburg from putinist fascists, subsequent gas transit fees to Germany will more than cover it.
They’re not. Because they’re lying. Either as policy or just the current government trying run a con. Why they’re doing this I don’t know. If I had to guess, perhaps to dissuade Russia and/or for internal politics (ie, look how stronk we’re making Poland vote for us etc). MAYBE to run a scam on Korea, but that’s a little more far-fetched but I want to put it out there just in case.
>They’re not. Because they’re lying.
proofs
now
Freedom isn't free
Poland thinks it’s getting western Ukraine lol.
tfw we will live to see Polish rule implemented in Moscow
Poland is afraid of music bands from Norway but thinks they can win against Russia kek
>2022
> "people must afraid of t3h rossiya!"
God damn, your fricking salty tears are delicious.
Yet only russia celebrate independence from Poland. Cope this vatnik
Russia is afraid of a truck made in the 90's.
80 IQ or Russian troll
>instead
Are they better?
Right now they are basically the same. But K239 is soon getting a bunch of new missiles way ahead of what HIMARS has today.
you could try to be less of an obvious SKgay
wrong
Where can I read about these better missiles? Are they in production? How do they compare to PRSM
Apparently all the Polish-Korean deals will include a clause allowing for SK production to be supplied from Poland in case of Nk-SK shennaningans.
Also SK is probably going to build Polish nuclear powerplants and they'll have some stakes in the Polish mega-airport project.
Polish-Korean alliance?
>Also SK is probably going to build Polish nuclear powerplants
not happening
Polish nuclear energy discussion is a fricking clown show. I am 100% convinced that we'll never get into nuclear energy at this point.
Sorry, but you have to. Earth will die if we can't switch over to to nuclear energy. It's the only realistic source of energy that can sustain humanity's energy needs without destroying the atmosphere.
Not my problem.
*shits up the Oder again*
No but seriously, our first nuclear plant was supposed to be up by 1991. It is now 2022 and we still have none. Even fricking Lithuania has one.
It's over, Poland is a lost cause.
>*shits up the Oder again*
I am confused by your post. My apologies for not understanding you.
You haven't heard of the Oder river disaster from a couple weeks ago? We still don't know what was dumped into it btw.
I heard strong arguments it was some kind of mineral salts including phosphates, which caused the toxic algae bloom. Germans also found increased levels of pesticides (which made poles sperg out and scream fake news immediately) but they're probably not the reason for the dead fish. Not much else was found (especially no increased mercury, the first result there was some kind of freak sample apparently). So most likely the damage is temporary.
saline mine water discharge. every country does this btw.
Then why don't fish die in every country, Polack?
but they do. you think fish live in this? france btw.
water evaporates due to heat, saltiness increases above tolerable levels, freshwater fish die. algae doesn't help either.
The Oder had low water, but it wasn't empty like that.
Nah mate, some industry dumped saline, they just did it at the worst possible moment. BTW, shortly after the incident became known in Poland, a wave of +50cm went through, which means some dam was opened to wash it through.
Poles would be wise to look into all that.
https://observatorial.com/news/world/146607/czech-republic-clear-tons-of-dead-fish-died-due-to-algal-blooms/
Oder disaster was also caused by algal bloom
Doesn't make it okay.
It's harmless.
Germans need to stop seething about everything Poland.
Come on man.
Nothing was dumped. Low water level and heat wave do that.
Funny how no other river in europe experienced that kind of toxix algae bloom.
It's fake news. It was heat and some algae.
Eternal Krauts are krauting.
Poland is incredibly bad at keeping it's rivers clean.
Let me tell you something. I live in Silesia. The capital of the region - Katowice has a river running through it's center called Rawa which eventually flows into Wisła.
That thing is literal sewage water. It's dirty and disgusting and everything around it starts smelling like literal shit once water levels rise beyond normal. The smell is so bad it makes your eyes water up. It's been like that for decades.
Don't be surprised if you hear about an event like this happening in the Vistula as well in the future.
i was under the impression that the inertia over nuclear power was partly related to all the brown coal that was still being mined and the number of miners who don't want to lose their jobs.
It is. That is the main, official reason. Coal miners are holding nuclear development hostage.
However, there is more to this. When an average Pole is asked about his opinion about shifting over to nuclear, they will say:
>b-but muh chernobyl and fukushima.
or
>nuclear is dangerous because Russia will bomb the plant and muh chernobyl
Especially if they're old enough to remember the Lugol's iodine scare the media were doing back then. If they're a bit more clever they might add something about nuclear waste being dangerous.
This is the state of the discussion here in Poland and why the construction date is being pushed back further and further. Żarnowiec died because of this. If they every attempt to build one again they'd have to start from scratch because the Żarnowiec site is too old to restart construction. Poles don't want it and it has to be as far away from them as possible, even though we're already surrounded by foreign nuclear power plants.
why do koreans care about poland?
Lots of Korean foreign investment.
Big arms deal recently between the two.
It’s a copeing mechanism
It's more that Poland is looking to rearm in light of the Russian invasion and needs NATO-compatible weapons that are also affordable. Meanwhile, South Korea's arms industry is eager for international customers, and Poland can be their wedge into the European market.
They've both been stuck between shitty neighbors for much of their history
>why do koreans care about poland?
Poland's favorite past time is getting used and abused by their neighbors and supposed friends and then kvetching about it for all eternity. Worst korea is just the asian equivalent.
God they just did it right with the GMLRS. Makes me proud
The big missile is actually already in use.
Those are unproven GMLRS and ATACMS clones. Why didn’t they copy the PRSM as well? I understand why Poland chose HIMARS now
>Why didn’t they copy the PRSM as well
They are.
That’s just a picture.
It's been revealed quite some time ago.
It's main purpose is not a precision strike, although it is certainly capable of it, but as a means to deliver a swarm of loitering ammunition drones that will basically eradicate any presence of the enemy from the surface.
>Haha korean missles are better JUST BECAUSE
Okay.
Damn this guys has a lot of nice videos.
That K9A2 autoloader is sex.
Believe it or not South Korea is a regional ballistic missile power, they're already working on CHUNMOO-II which will be a slightly enlongated version of the K239 to fit the KTSSM-II with a maximum range of 295km(because anything over 300km is prohibited by the MTCR).
South Korea doesn’t export that much military equipment. Just behind the bongs
I'd like to see a breakdown of how much total global share of the arms market Russia holds now, and where it will go over the next decade. Then I'd like to see which areas of their arms sales are doing specifically against other countries. Want to see that exact chart broken down & explained by units sold vs. total money in play and who is getting which share.
I've got to believe that Russia's global share of arms sales will plunge under 10% very rapidly, possibly headed under 5% as the world catches up on just how embarrassing the performance of their products is.
Which means, something like 10% or more of the total global arms market just became very, very fluid for whoever can step up to the table with functioning product.
Hahaha. Keep dreaming. The reality is that very few countries can actually replace Russia or the US. For example, China has been working on making a homebrew fighter engine that matches Russia and the US for decades and still not there. Even planes made by third countries are really using either Russian or US engines.
Not many will buy new Russian stuff, but for countries with shitloads of soviet equipment already, it's not easy to just stop buying russian small arms, ammunition and such.
Look at how long it's talking eastern european countries to ween themselves off soviet arty and AKs. Now understand that many african countries have the same problem and 10% of the money to fix it.
The future world will rotate on the Warsaw-Seoul axis.
B-but Finland...
>we live in a reality where the Finno-Korean Hyperwar is a possibility
Based
Both Poland and South Korea are rather unimportant countries.
>Both Poland and South Korea are rather unimportant countries
South Korea is a technology powerhouse for stuff like band flash and ship building.
Poland is geographically situated in a rather important spot in Europe.
nah
I'm gonna need you to link your academic sources backing up that claim buddy.
>Both Poland and South Korea are rather unimportant countries.
Are you fricking moronic? Poland is the spearhead of the NATO, and the fact that South Korea is one step away from Beijing is what makes it strategically irreplaceable unlike Taiwan, which is also why the US army is currently setting up PrSM batteries there.
All this korean stuff is equipped with north korean control mainframes, kill will press the button and this shit will start firing at targets in europe
The hard part of the system is the carrier vehicle but the missile.
Isn't.
Frick.
New HIMARS missiles have 150km range. New K239 missiles have 200km range.
>New HIMARS missiles have 150km range. New K239 missiles have 200km range.
The ER GMLRS is 150km while the much larger ATACMS M57 is 300km.
KTSSM-II has twice the warhead of ATACMS while having practically the same range.
A bigger warhead won't help it be more precise.
>instead of 500 HIMARS
Just read the article you got this graphic from, it's not instead, it's considered in addition to HIMARS because it's believed that USA won't agree to 500 number or production timelines so Poland will want to supplement HIMARS with Korean launchers.
so can this chingchong moo fire decent missiles?
It's just a missile truck fundamentally, can't you put ATACMS in there?
today, on keeping up with the Ukrainians
Ukrainians have like 16, Poles want 500
My boy, it's not instead of the HIMARS, we want this shit together with the HIMARS
KTSSM-II is currently developed with cutting edge technology that would be thought as a miracle back when ATACMS first entered service in 1991, and you expect them to have the same peformance? Also, KTSSM has a CEP of 2m as seen in the pic, which is enough to be used as an anti-ship ballistic missile.
This is not the first time South Korea has developed a ballistic missile, it's been mass producing Russian Iskander clones called Hyunmoo-2 series for decades already, and they've gradually improved their level based on its technology.
I’m all but certain that Poland is lying, either as a national policy or just the current government trying to bullshit their own people. Projecting plans for massive arms acquisitions that will get slashed to death and buried when it comes time for the legislature to assign the budget. It wouldn’t surprise me if they’re doing it to scam the Koreans into giving them very good prices and preferential manufacturing deals and once they get the industry and the first batch of arms they start slashing orders. They might figure no one will a shit if they scam the Asians.
Are you Russian? If not, what are you?
https://defence24.pl/przemysl/czolgi-haubice-i-amunicja-za-miliardy-juz-w-tym-roku-umowy-wykonawcze-z-korea-podpisane
It's all already signed. No backing out.
>Poland is lying, and have no money to modernize their army. They shouldn't have send their superior tanks to Ukraine, when it would be much smarter to modernize them into T-22 standard, and use the saved money on feeding the migrants from Syria, and Iraq, or something.
Is it that difficult to believe that a nation that could potentially but unlikely become the next warzone should the current conflict cease would want to replace the gear they've sent to their ally with better stuff and heavily arm themselves for the future?
All this cope about Polish army is funny because they are not even growing in size that much. It's just that hundreds of post soviet junk gets replaced with new modern equipment.
They've sent all their post-soviet tanks and like 12 artillery pieces. All the announced purchases are well past all that. Plus the actual personel count is increasing as well with more formations being created. This is a massive effort in such a short span of time for a county like Poland.
>personel count is increasing
this is the tough part. buying shit is easy
>They've sent all their post-soviet tanks
not even close, there at least 200 operational still left, maybe 100 that require basic renovation and domestic upgrades, and next 100 that are not really cost effective to renovate. I can see the last 100 being used for target practice unless a third party pays for the repairs so they can be delivered to Ukraine. When it comes to Polish repair/modification capabilities of t-72 tanks it's around 50 a year.
Why keep throwing money at t-72s when you can just buy better tanks. The transition from soviet era gear to modern western gear is happening almost everywhere
Poland isn't throwing money at t-72 tanks for itself anymore, the current ongoing repairs and modifications were contracted before Russian invasion and PT-91 program is finished. All that can be done with T-72 based tanks is sending them to Ukraine. That's why I said that the last mothballed basic T-72 if they see any type of repairs it won't be paid by Poland.
Current Polish plan is to send every soviet tank to Ukraine and replace them with Abrams and K2. After this is finished Poland will have only K2 and Abrams tanks in service.
All post soviet junk is going to ukraine.
Its a scam yes id say we should just lend lease a bunch of shit to ukraine directly for fsvours with the west and exchange for stealth tech and allowing us to build nuclear ballistic missile submarines.
Poland should stop ordering ridiculous orders we cant produce that many fricking tanks in a year. You think we can shit out 500 mbts in a year you are sadly mistaken.
One weird thing though. Why don’t they procure more KRABs, perhaps next generation ones I’m sure their MIC has?
They are procuring more of them.
I think I recall something about Krabs being discontinued in favor of something else and the person responsible for their production being mad as frick on twitter and resigning.
It's a quite complicated issue apparently.
Production is too slow to meet the demand so they decided to go full K9PL instead. Krabs wil still be made but for Ukraine.
They do produce them in full capacity. They could expand production (build new factory line) but there are some issues with licences, import of engines and so on... Generally it's almost the same but with different turret and Korean one will have fully automated loader so it will have better rate of fire
Yes but the thing with Krab is that the Polish MIC (which is largely state-owned I had no idea before) couldn’t source key components internally at the time so that allowed them to pick and choose the best components from different countries (Korean chassis, German engine, US transmission, French gun, etc) which they then modified and spent a lengthy degree of time integrating together to get results they wanted and to meet Polish military standards. Then they started sending them to Ukraine who apparently liked them a lot which lead to them ordering 50 more on top of the ones Poland was giving away. The state-owned company was getting invaluable feedback from actual combat operations which was allowing them to improve on it further. They felt they had a great product on their hands are were excited to move forward.
But. Apparently the state-owned MIC and the military procurement system are run by separate parts of the government and that they have a bad relationship. Officially everyone is all smiles but under the surface there’s hate. Ie, the MIC complains they’re held to unfair standards vs foreign companies, constantly changing requirements, etc, and the procurement people complain about the MIC only caring about money, being problematic, etc. The MIC got enraged because they felt shit on by the government dropping the the K9 deal on them thus sabotaging the future of the Krab, a system that was painstakingly developed and turned into a great world-class SPG, and that which could have turned into a truly Polish system in the future as the local industry built up experience.
Yes, I agree. But unofficially US gave us time until 2025 to be ready, that's why they go for technology transfer instead of development. Other thing is apparently big jump in production technology that will come with Korean deal, because now it limits what we can put into production.
Krab is a frankenstein with parts from all over the world. They were fine when there was no rush to make them but now that government wants hundreds of new systems there is simply no way to make Krabs fast enough.
