Sniper Shotgun? Posted on March 9, 2023 by PrepHole Contributor Can a shotgun using slugs and a scope be used as a makeshift sniper rifle?
Worked pretty well in Battlefield 3
>ywn snipe somebody with the 870MCS from across the map on Capsian Border again
A police "sniper" perhaps, but you aren't going to be doing any real long range shooting with one.
no, people will see the scope and then they'll think youre gay. which you are
define "sniper". What distance are you taking the shot at?
About 400-700ft, for hunting game i reckon.
What about a rusted incendiary shell?
>About 400-700ft, for hunting game i reckon.
rifled or preferably sabot slugs should be able to do that without much difficulty if you're a decent shot. 230 yards is probably pushing it, but there are people that take game at 100 yards with non rifled slugs.
I'm not sure why you'd have to take a shot from that range when hunting though.
>200 yards is sniping
for a clean hunting shot yeah
Now we're cookin with gas
Throw a shell magazine on that baby
You are now the owner of a dragon rifle
plenty of scoped shotguns running around the flat states, generally sabot .452.
>Can a shotgun using slugs and a scope be used as a makeshift sniper rifle?
yes, a shotgun using slugs and a scope CAN be used as a makeshift sniper rifle
>another poorfag falls for the pump shotgun meme
As in like a slug gun? Those usually have a scope, is that what you mean?
Underaged poster, you're not going to get the performance of a multi thousand dollar "sniper" rifle with a maverick 88 you're saving your birthday money for.
You're not going to get the answer you're fishing for. Go back.
your halfassed sniper rifle will cost significantly more than just buying some cheap savage. it will also cost more per round.
Kinda, but your range is very limited. I have a pretty high end setup on my slug gun: Benelli M2 with a rifled barrel and a Trijicon VCOG. It's most accurate with Brenneke Red Magic and Winchester BRIs, shooting with some kind of support or prone I can get sub-3" groups at 100 yards easily. Taking game out to 150 yards is no problem. But beyond 150? The slug is dropping like a stone at that point so you better be real good at estimating distance or have a rangefinder and a cheat sheet (DOPE card) so you can get your elevation hold right. I'd say that 150 yards is probably the practical limit. Distance goes down if we're talking smoothbore.
Nice 3 MOA isn't horrendous out of the worst possible gun
Regular slugs out of a smoothbore barrel will get you out to about 100 yards. Sabot slugs will get you to 200-300 yards.
Short answer is no. Just get a .308 like a normal person. Effective out to like 800 yards
it worked for me on Noshahr Canals in BF3
snipers on crane tower get raped
catchpa: SKSOKS wtf
You trying to knock off Shooter Born in Heaven and some of the shotgun quests at the same time?
Don’t listen to them, OP. They obviously got sniped in Battlefield 3.
Bad Company two shotgun sniper coming out of the bushes for u!
This is my bush.
>holding the hill
>sitting on ammo pack shitting sensor balls
