Slugs

Sup, nerds, got myself IZh-58, 12/70, with two different permanent chokes, and it seems like I'm about to drown in the slug loading autism. I've never thought that there are so many of them, and I'm not talking about Taofledermaus meme loads
So what kind of slugs do you use, if you ever bother?

Slugs aren't usually my first choice but Tritonia isn't bad.

Brenneke classic, does everything I want from a slug.

I considered choosing between Polev-6 and Legenda (variation of Polev type slugs) for the upcoming range visit, but Brenneke must be fine too.

I like polev-3 the best, but I use an 870 with 54cm barrel, no choke. I'd try out different polevs if I were you.
    >two different permanent chokes
You've probably already heard this but be careful with those, don't load full caliber (or just too wide) slugs in there.

Sure. I think I'll get me some factory load Polev before I dive into self-loading completely

Don't blow it up with slugs then they are only supposed to be used in full cylinder

      No, something like

Brenneke classic, does everything I want from a slug.

is specifically designed to work with choked barrels.

I have an IJ-58MAE, absolute workhorse for a USSR shotgun.
They're fixed full and 3/4 chokes you do NOT want to run slugs or steel shot through them.
If you want it as a slug gun you may as well lop off 3-4 inches to remove the chokes, if you have the money to pay a gunsmith - have it rebored for removable chokes.

I've seen lots of people shooting Brenneke,Polev and other slugs through full chokes

Depends on the gun. Try several and see what groups the best for you in your gun.
My Beretta silver pigeon performs best with Brenneke Green Lightning. My AyA Matador is most accurate with Winchester BRI Sabot.

Sounds nice, considering that similar Brenneke Emerald is available with the factory load here

IZh-58 can handle undersized slugs. Steel shot is no-no.
TOZ-34 can handle all kinds of slugs and steel shot, although they say it cant. There is article written by finns, who tested steel shot + different shotguns. Nothing happened with TOZ-34 after thousand shots. No stretching.

Whatever, never meant to shoot steel
