SLAMRAAM

Would SLAMRAAM launchers with AIM 120’s not have been ideal for the ukies?

A third the price per missile when compared to patriots, really a shame the program got cancelled. Surely could be that hard to revive?

    NASAMS fires primarily AIM-120

Yeah that's why NASAMS were given first. Launchers fire Iris-T too. I'm still surprised Patriots are being sent at all.

Ukraine claims to have no defense against Kh-22 despite having had NASAMS for a while, so presumably NASAMS is struggling with high supersonic / hypersonic missiles (as you'd expect)

NASAMS has never been proposed as an option for hypersonics by anyone ever, Patriots can but PAC-3 is the only missile set with hypersonic interception as an official capability
both are irrelevant though as KH-22 are not hypersonics, the only hypersonic vehicles Russia has are Avengards and 0 Avengards have been used in Ukraine (or ever)
Kh-22 can be intercepted tidily by any Patriot system with PAC-1 or better

NASAMS are more for general air defense like planes, drones, and cruise missiles. They were never designed to engage ballistic missiles which is where the Patriot batteries come in.

NASAMS can fire AMRAAM, Sidewinder, and more. I don't know if it can fire OG Sea Sparrow or ESSM, anyone know?

They can fire AMRAAM-ER, which is an ESSM motor with the AIM-120D seeker and warhead. But, yes, NASAMS can fire both the ESSM and OG Sea Sparrow.

Though, the US is sending OG Sea Sparrow's to Ukraine as they can be launched from Buk systems already.

Sea Sparrows can be utilized by BUKs because presumably the illumination radar is close enough (both I band) to be modified easily enough to guide in a sparrow. A NASAMS battery wouldn't be able to utilize ESSMs or Sea Sparrows without modification and/or extra radars that aren't included normally. ESSMs would also require some effort to figure out how to transmit mid course corrections because they only use SARH for terminal guidance (although maybe they can just use SARH the entire way and skip that).

Slaamram can’t really deal with ballistic missiles, which is the main un spoken reason that we decided to turn over a few patriot batteries. Iris-t and even avengers work fine for directional short range cruise missile defense

List the radius for probable impact around the aim point. Ukraine is fighting on its home clay. Why would they want to destroy everything around what they're aiming at?

These are more of a terror weapon when you want to turn a city into rubble. Then, if it's your own clay, you have to do the clean up afterward, UXO and environmental plus rebuild collateral damage. They have their use against a formation in the desert, but it's much more limited in a theater like Ukraine.
