I remember watching one of those Rick Steves travels to Europe and he visited a village of Italian hunters who would apparently run around the woods after drinking try to circle their quarry and then just start randomly shooting. Of course none of them had blaze orange in and most were so spread out they couldn't see each other.
yeah, in europe hunters usually don't wear orange. here in sweden most people just wear some kind of greenish clothes. You are supposed to be 100% certain what you are shooting at and what is behind it before you are allowed to take a shot.
of course that isn't always followed.
>of course that isn't always followed
Sorry about your kid, I thought it was a boar
Now that i think about it, I'm pretty sure they were hunting boar, but yeah it wouldn't be so bad I'd they were doing this methodically but it was basically a bunch of Italian hillbillies shooting whereever they saw movement or heard a noise
If possible shaped ambush and short of the L is sniper preferably with suppressed rifle.
Ambushed naturally would be seeking cover from the open and loud fire from the long of the L and be exposed and shot by sniper without understanding what happens.
the semicircle ambush is better for certain applications, for example when friendly fire is a big risk or you want to leave an escape route for the enemy
You should be using a tac shooter on the corner instead of just spamming dart monkeys on the sides like that. Later on you can upgrade it to a ring of fire to deal with lead bloons. Of course, triple dart monkeys are the king of the early game, so for the more linear maps, you should place them on the straightaways.
If the terrains allows, you always want L shaped because you deny more angles to the enemy, but you also don't want to have your forces shooting at one another.
I assumed mines would be a part of it already. If it's a narrow road you can stop a whole platoon of tanks in their tracks by destroying the first/front leader. Then they are sitting ducks for rocket launchers. Very PTSD inducing.
No one has seriously answered the question yet, so I will. Linear is not only much easier to set up, but it's also far easier to trap an entire enemy unit in a kill zone with it. The L shape ambush is more limited by size, and you can't bracket in an enemy with interlocking machine gun fire in the same manner.

Short L should be sneaky sneaky. And this strikes against noobs basic instinct and training.
Imagine road, road othen can provide cover. If it located on the berm or have ditches. What noobs will start doing when hit by massive automatic fire from the side of the road? They would seek cover on the other side of the road and they lay down "muh suppressive fire!". They would be deaf and blind and oblivious to anything that doesn't come from the direction of the fire. Fire fixes them in place in what they believe is safe cover form ambush.
Meanwhile if there sniper that can look at othe rside of there road from his position can pick them one by one without any difficulties. And slow semi automatic from sniper would be very difficult to pick up in thunder of the automatic fire exchanges.
Also for that ambush you need minimum just one competent shooter, that sniper. Shooters of the long if the L can do Somali shooting and still be useful
>Fire from multiple directions without friendly fire
... until the convoy moves past the kill zone, at which point at least two of your elements are killing each other.
Why do zoomers always do the “lol this is me” thing? I’ve never heard anyone talk about themselves so much before. Do you think about anyone other than yourself?
If you're a VC and you just want to shoot a few GIs and run way, you want to attack from as many angles as the terrain allows without exposing yourself to friendly fire, as in picrel, though even the VCs would frequently just do linear ambushes because they're much easier. Sometimes they would even position themselves on opposite sides of a trail and expose themselves to friendly fire. If you're performing a conventional tactical maneuver and you actually want to assault and destroy the enemy trying to do some 200 IQ ambush from different angles is probably just going to blow up in your face.
That Mandalorian series has had it's ups and downs, but that fucking droid was great. Clone Wars really skewed the perception of droids to barely a threat (unless they were pretty much just walking tanks), but that droid did reel that all a bit back again to them sometimes being optimized fighting machines.
Linear ambush so that if you happen to contact a full battalion of commie terrs you and your platoon minus can hug the ground, try not to breathe too loud and wait for them to pass right on by >t. an old guy who fought in Malaya told me
Are you retarded? O shaped ambush.
>he dosen't into rear security
Ö-shäped ambush ofcourse.
>Are you retarded? O shaped ambush.
Just looking at the pic, I wasn't sure if this was from a porno or an early 2000s action flick
Yeah you know, all those pornos with guns in them.
Would be far from the weirdest thing I've seen
>O shaped ambush
is this the famous tightening Russian sphincter defense?
I thought it was that scene from The Rock
>I WILL NOT GIVE THAT ORDER
>he doesn't deploy a Alesia type ambush
ngmi

Not him but a guy at my work had their dog shot by a hunter, and you read about old men accidentally shooting people sometimes
t. Swede
I heard about dogs, horses, teenagers fucking in the field, cyclists, fellow hunters and much more shot by hunters
t. Pole
I am him, and can attest.
Now that i think about it, I'm pretty sure they were hunting boar, but yeah it wouldn't be so bad I'd they were doing this methodically but it was basically a bunch of Italian hillbillies shooting whereever they saw movement or heard a noise
yeah that sounds like a recipe for some dead italian hillbillies XD

I also watch SSeth
Spike-O-Pult set to last bloon targeting, so it just shoots down the line.
Neither, you want a Y shaped ambush
Your mom's bush shaped ambush.
depends on the location
I'm a pacifist
you can peacefully ambush someone
8 Shaped ambush is superior as it is endless

Whatever works best for the landscape.
Why not a B==3 shaped ambush?
Larger, asymmetric formation under cover and spider holes. Much more effective than a ME style desert ambush with severe lack of natural cover.
It has literally been 20 years. Please stop.
You a fan of Saddam Hussein? We make memes about ancient wars here it's never gonna stop.
it literally hasnt been 20 years
hi anon I laughed.
thanks for your funny post
Multiple linear shaped ambushes done by multiple squads with remote controlled mines to section them into easily managed parts.
I assumed mines would be a part of it already. If it's a narrow road you can stop a whole platoon of tanks in their tracks by destroying the first/front leader. Then they are sitting ducks for rocket launchers. Very PTSD inducing.
A mine at the front, a well-placed stationary AT at the back.
We got shooters here and shooters here. I'll tell you an old trick...
Great scene.
BTW,what color is the boathouse at Hereford?
>We got shooters here and shooters here. I'll tell you an old trick...
Kek, came here to find this.
I was told you just keep trying different letters until you hear moaning
I too subscribe to r/noncredibledefense
Please stay there.
I'm going to hunt you down and tear your asshole in half with a drill press.
Am I supposed to know what the fuck that is

Have that bitch a rhomboidal ambush.
Bitches love rhomboidal ambushes.
L because it has more arrows

Always L shaped if terrain allows.
Nuking them from orbit is the GOAT of ambushes
Maybe if you have an elevated position firing down into a kill zone. On flat ground that looks like the risk of friendly fire would be far too high.
Draw it again.
L shaped allows you to shoot along the entirety of a long enemy formation, these reduce the killzone to smaller area.
Then just shoot all the enemies before they leave the killzone
ambushed guys in the corner are dead
Fire from multiple directions without friendly fire
>machinegun
No.
automauto riflo
No

but an MG could just rake the ditches no matter which side they take cover on.
why?
>Fire from multiple directions without friendly fire
... until the convoy moves past the kill zone, at which point at least two of your elements are killing each other.
>until the convoy moves past the kill zone
No they won't
you'd bet your life on it?
Just shoot them all while they're in the killzone, skill issue
>not using the M-bush
pffft I bet you're still using the H ambush
me in the top right going in the wrong direction

It entirely depends on what is best suited for the terrain features at that particular grid square you stupid retarded moron children.
I am an IG-series battledroid and I *am* the kill box. Prepare to die fleshbag.

Z.
It's basically just an L, but you have a reserve force in case things get hairy.
Depends, do I have a gast, catara, or fiddler?
