Should i get into guns?

Hello /k/. I am a 20 year old zoomer working part time in a miserable warehouse job and living in a strict-ish household. I've been interested in guns but i never had enough to get myself involved in with it, however i managed to save a couple grand to get myself a decent gun, but considering i don't live in a shithole or live near n words, would it make any sense for me to get an gun (specifically an rifle), and if so, what kind of rifle would you suggest for a newcomer?

an assault rifle 15 with extended capacity rounds that holds 100 bullets per round chambered in 9mm so it can blow the lungs out of the body

your mother won’t be there forever. you shall find a future wife and start a family. this is the way.

You can still visit them. maybe it's different for hispanics but imo you'll never be your own man until you move out and support yourself. it's hard work and probably not as nice as your family home but it's worth it for the freedom that comes.

It sounds like your situation is financially precarious so I wouldn't suggest "getting into" guns.
Try and befriend somebody who is into guns and get them to show you. Don't splash out money if you don't even know what you're getting one for.

Not enough information. What would the rifle be for? Defence, militia larp, hunting, competition, shooting targets at the range?

I guess for defense purposes and in general target shooting. I'm not autistic enough to be LARPing

Then if you decide you want a rifle, then easy answer for what to get is an entry level AR-15, like a Smith and Wesson M&P Sport, chambered in 5.56.

Smith & Wesson rifles are decent, I might just get that as my first rifle

hello, noguner here, I don't want to tell you what to do so i will only give you my own experience.
          >be me
          >be 21 years old loser
          >buy a gun to feel less like a loser
          >get back home
          >LESS than 1 hour has past since getting my pistol!
          > almost shoot my self in the head because moronic
          >return gun the next day
          >cant hear properly in my left ear for 1 month.
take you for your time reading this.

Thanks for your TED talk anon, however it is very skeptical for me to almost shoot myself since I have been around guns, but only a couple of times.

Honestly this won't be a popular answer on /k/ but if your parents wouldn't like it and you're short on money it's not a great idea.
Ammo costs a LOT of money. Like once you start adding up the dollars you'll quickly find yourself blowing more money on ammunition than what you spent on the gun itself.

If you really insist on a rifle your best (cheapest) bet would be a .22lr for target shooting and shit. Whatever you do do not buy a shotgun or a rifle in .308/7.62x51. You'll go broke after one range session.
Also it's worth considering that if you're really concerned about self defense then a rifle is not the right choice in most situations. A compact handgun offers way more flexibility as a defensive tool for a civilian.

Yes but I cannot get a handgun until im 21, unless I try to build myself a p80, which I have thought but I can't carry one with me so like what's the point

It's a fricking time and moneysink and all friends you'll find are either on a watchlist or work for an agency.
Hit the gym, make friends and steer clear of shit like /k/, PrepHole and other consoomer boards.

Also for the love of God don't go down the internet politics rabbit hole.

I always got pissed off when gun grabbing homosexuals accuse gun owners of compensating. You telling me they had a point, Black person?

        >You telling me they had a point, Black person?
Of course they do, one of the most popular quotes regarding guns is that "God made men, colt made men equal". What do you think this implies? Something deep about keeping the government in check or just weak men being able to shoot strong men now?

          Anonymous

It implies that guns allow everyone to exercise their right to self-defense, regardless of their physical capabilities. It does not imply that Samuel Colt made men with micropenises feel better about themselves.

Go to your local range and borrow some guns to shoot. If you're interested in the hobby start with a cheap .22lr rifle and target practice for cheap.

Even if you don't decide to enter the hobby, buy yourself a gun for home defense. Just have fun and test out a few models at the range. I'd advise to go with a good used revolver in .357 Mag you can put in your nightstand. Enough to protect your home against the local meth head thinking the devil lives in your house.

Get a cheap bolt action 22lr for your beginnings. It's cheap to buy and feed. If you stay interested, buy something different.
