The the MkIV the best .22 pistol you can get right now? I was going to get a p322 until I saw some recent reviews.
it's a decently high contender, it has some flaws, however most .22 pistols look like air pistols or tranq guns. in a sea of mediocrity it looks almost like a luger.
Well, it's a nice gun, but not for CC. For shooting cans in a ditch absolutely. Do I really need to list 15 reasons why that's stupid that you can't google yourself?
Oh I definitely would not CC with it, I have a P365xl I want to use for that I just receltly discovered that I suck at shooting handguns so I want something to practice with for cheap.
Oh - thought you were OP lol. The threaded version is the right move I'm actually in the same boat myself haha. Though do yourself a favor and grab the mkiv tactical and not the 22/45 as the latter has a polymer lower.
Have you held one? I feel like you think they're small enough for easy concealment when they're fairly bulky. I'd also argue hollowpoint .22 is fairly worthless, you won't be over penetrating anything with round nose or soft point.
As others said, 22 HP aren't ideal. They either won't expand or won't penetrate deep enough. Better to go for the penetration. CCI/federals new defensive 22 ammo is a flat point, I believe.
MKIV Is SO much easier than the previous generations, push button take down. I have a MkIII that I've had apart exactly one time because I didn't want to deal with that shit
Not sure about the MKIV but the standard/MK1/MKII apparently has a hell of a tight barrel. IIRC American Rifleman had an article about rebarreling a Ruger .22 handgun and it was hell because it was (for some reason) tight. I think milling flats on the barrel and heat would make it much easier, though. Serialied part isn't the barrel but instead the "upper" the barrel attaches to. Probably would be easiest to just buy a new upper and swap it out, though it still has to be transferred assuming you're buying from someone out of state and you're not doing a private sale (though depending on your state, you may still have to transfer).
They are amazing guns, fun to shoot, suppressed they are super quiet and they run super well.. if they are clean. One of my best friends has one that is suppressed and if he doesnt clean it after every time he goes shooting with it, it just starts jamming on almost every other shot. So I definitely wouldnt carry it. With lint, sweat, dust and whatever else gets into it I doubt it would work very reliably.
just open carry a luger
>.22
>hollow points
>out of a pistol
No. LRN is what you want for adequate penetration.
Otherwise yes carry is
Get a TX22. It’s lighter and holds 16+1 rounds. If you’re going to carry hollow points, buy some CCI Velocitors.
ignore all tx22 posters. it looks like dogshit

also OP don't do that you silly moron
I like the look of the standard better but I think I would go with the threaded barrel target version.

>Dat CCH
>almost like a luger
I think they were based on the nambu
Nah you can pull that bullet out of the lung and save them

More worried about dumping ALL energy into the target for whatever damage a .22 can do

Just open carry a Desert Eagle
1: .22 a shit
2: I've never shot a Ruger Mk that didn't derp like once a magazine trying to feed hollow points
If I were going to carry 22lr, it'd be in a revolver for double-strike ability. Capacity isn't bad in a revolver, either.
Can you change the barrel on those MKIV Targets easy? I got one as a gift but its got a heavy 8" barrel that I don't like.

You can, the barrel is also the serialized part.
damn that sucks

And by "tight" I meant hard to get off.

The only pro I can think of to .22 is being able to get back on target more quickly after a shot
more rounds on target for more holes.
Just get a glock 19
i refuse to become a wigger.
he said glock 19 not glock 23

any alternatives? preferably non glock?
Walther PDP, M&P2.0, P365XL
The M&P looks pretty good to me. thank you anon
Taurus G2C is the best budget blaster on the market, bar none
PDP is fantastic, also the PDP F series is great if your hands or fingers are small
I ended up buying an LCR, LCRx and Model 43c in 22LR. Have been carrying the LCR for a while now, will let y'all know if it gets me killed.
The only reasonable choices of you're gonna cc a 22
You know, if it means you practice regularly with it then fricking go for it dude.
If you're gonna carry a 22, I would carry a Sig 322
Eh. If you want. It's basically a nail gun with some reach. But if you dome someone it'll probably drop them.
>CC’ing a Ruger Classic
>LCR Exists
>concealed carry
How? I can CC a fullsize handgun, but I don't see how you could conceal this shit.
yes
Buy a Mossberg MC2SC for conceal carry and underwood ammo, or buy a P365 if you want it to shoot you out of nowhere, or buy a S&W CSX.
