What do you mean? The Blackhawk is an old chopper. I don't think the chinese had much in terms of advanced helicopters back then when it was designed and production started. They will get replaced eventually by something better than Chinese shit

There was no crash, anon. Whenever soldiers are "killed in training" it means they were tasked to take down a cryptid or ET and got killed in the process. These things always happen in areas known for cryptid sightings. Using training as cover has been going on since at least WWI, possibly since the civil war when the battles pushed a lot of creatures out of their normal ranges and close encounters became more common.

Yeah this. "Killed in training" is the oldest line in the book. I'm not familiar with the area so I can't speak about any paranormal activity, but this is the standard cover story.

Goat man, bigfoot, "goblins" that are likely Greys in abandoned mines, technically inside mothman range. Skinwalkers are likely as well, since they appear wherever there is old-growth forest.

How does one get selected for the Black Ops Cryptid unit? Would they fall under military leadership or be considered OGA?

            Anonymous

Depends, really. They come from a lot of backgrounds. Some are already spec ops of some sort, but not like the modern SEALs who constantly blab about everyrhing they did for social media points. More like the the guys from WW2 and Nam that carried their secrets to the grave. Teams that primarily work stateside tend to recruit Native Americans, and ones working in the Gulf often have Hatian/Louisiana Creole. Spiritual connections to the land or area are important. There's a surprising amount of overlap with Chaplain corps, it's amazing what a true believer can accomplish. For some jobs, when we knew there would be human casualties, such as the sacrifices needed in completing a gate sealing ward, we would offer a special "training opportunity" to a few unfortunate grunts that would end up "dying in a helicopter".

Such bullshit, it does not work the way you think it does, you dumbass larper.

Could be, assuming the Blackhawks actually were destroyed by the cryptid and not just remotely scuttled as part of the cover up.

              >Could be, assuming the Blackhawks actually were destroyed by the cryptid and not just remotely scuttled as part of the cover up.

A big sluagh is strong enough to lift a truck off the ground. Crashing one blackhawk into another wouldnt be much of a problem if they flew close to each other.

Not larping, I'm sure things have changed since I was in. I got out in '87 (that's '91 for you Gamma timeline gays) and I know a lot of restructuring happened in late 90s/early 2000s. I'm also not saying it wasn't a sluagh, just that it might not have been. Too bad we'll never know, since everyone involved is dead, except for mission control and other handlers, and they ain't talking.

I'm sick of this "Gamma timeline" bullshit. The [REDACTED] did NOT result in alterations to the timeline. Earth was just displaced four years into the future.

You Gamma timeliners are always so anal about things. At least here in Prime we can openly talk about the S.A.T.T.E.L.L.I.T.E event and the temporal shift. I am jealous you guys have Stuart as president though, this Biden guy we have is a bit lacking.

Congrats, anon. You passed the test. It's good to talk to another real human. Hope you guys in Gamma are able to avoid our mistakes. Don't try to send a rescue party, we can't risk a breach.

Yeah, the Agency got a tad wienery there. "Joseph Biden" was a perfectly fine pseudonym to use for Stuart, but making his new middle name "Robinette" when the mind alteration process was developed under Project Little Robin? I mean c'mon guys, it's like you want to get caught.

The only cryptid I know of that can take down two blackhawks is a sluagh. These are bad juju and are responsible for a significant fraction of the missing 411 cases, judging by the circumstances described. Since they are normally airborne, they dont leave tracks, and strike without warning. Supposedly you can hear a sluagh passing overhead, it sounds like a flock of large birds. Woosh-Woosh-Woosh-Woosh.

As the saying goes, "It's not the cryptids you know about that get you." The real threats have names that begin with two letter prefixes.

i thought it was just a cover for all the guys that get killed on the other side of the stargate? Can't exactly bring the bodies back when they're contaminated with elements that shouldn't exist or infested with alien remains.
