Poland should invade Germany before North America has to bail you stupid fricking europoors out again. Seethe all you want I don't care it's going to have to happen

Both. Develop an unmanned gripen successor with sweden. Buy rafale successor from the french... or Tempest, or more F35, or NGAD if they sell. Frick developing with france, it never works.

Neither. Already have Eurofighters. Germant should buy a couple squadrons of F-35s for nuclear strike and a couple squadrons of Growlers for electronic warfare. Anything else can be done with more/newer Eurofighters.

      >Growlers
I have no idea what I'm talking about, so bear with my moronation
but can't just about any plane carry a magical EW pod?
why add a handful of carrier-capable aircraft to your inventory when you don't have a carrier?

        Anonymous

Yes, almost all aircraft can carry EW pods, but that means you can carry less weapons, and you might want your stand off EW to be positioned in other places then your strike/fighter aircraft. Air Forces have wildly different tactics and capabilities when it comes to EW, so thats why some use dedicated platforms for it, while others dont.

The problem is not carrying the EW the problem is making the EW equipment, especially from scratch

The EW pod on the Eurofighter is not as good as the one on the Tornado SEAD, which is not as good as a whole plane dedicated to it.

Neither. Getting Gripens would just be stupid by Germany. Germany should buy F-35s as thats what they need to deliver nukes, and they alredy have Eurofighters.

And this comes from a massive Gripen shill who actually works on Gripens for a living.

Yep, Im ground crew. I dont know what you want to know tho. There are markings in some places saying "No Grip" wich is a bit funny. The wings are really comfy to sleep on in summer days. We use old 1980s Jeeps as tow trucks.

Is the 10 min turn around time for fuel and hardpoints bullshit ?

            Anonymous

No, its doable for standard options, even with mostly conscripts. Some more more specialist armament options sure takes more time then that.

How often do pilots over-g the aircraft and how much does that overtime afterwards piss you off ?

            Anonymous

Neither since it doesn't want to invest in expensive combat power.

Drones and missile systems are far better band for the euro, have a far larger export market (the real reason Germany has an arms industry after surrendering its society to Ossis) and can be stored far less expensively than manned aircraft.

"Because they look cool to sad c**ts who will never fly them" is not a valid reason to buy aircraft.

Not a Gripper but over-g inspections on much more complex aircraft aren't horrible. Modern aircraft require a frickup or deliberate effort to over-G thanks to fly by wire so it's fairly rare even on old F-16s. Phantoms relied on aircrew who sometimes broke the engine mounts leaving the doors to support the engines. Those sucked when over-G'ed and aircrew were expected to buy us beer for the hassle.

No, its doable for standard options, even with mostly conscripts. Some more more specialist armament options sure takes more time then that.

What does the ten minute combat turn consist of? Simultaneous refuel/rearm or is hot refuel done before taxiing to the parking spot/rearm area? (Those not ICT familiar should know there are a variety of options depending on fuel truck or pantograph or hydrant location and availability.)

Simultaneous refuel/rearm is the fastest way. It can be done anywhere if you bring a fuel truck, and is common on roadbases.

Hot refueling is absolutly a thing too

That's by far the quickest in most cases, especially for dispersed ops.

Its rare, but it happens. Its not too much work, but it sucks. We allways make sure that pilot is sent on some bullshit 3 hour presentation about something as a "reward"

Germany were thinking of making an ECR typhoon, but it turned out to be too much hard work.
To be honest it's a weird capability to buy a dozen aircraft for, the USAF don't care about having dedicated jamming aircraft so I'm not sure why the Luftwaffe should.
More F-35s would probably be a better force multiplier for strike and SEAD without ending up with India tier airframe diversity.
